Update: 6 March 2019. I had another great experience here after finally getting an issue looked at that was happening intermittently. Turns out my right rear caliper was seizing, so I had the rear brakes done. Start to finish, I was there about 2 hours. It's a clean and friendly environment to wait while the car is being worked on...I'm so grateful for this shop. **** I moved here a year ago and randomly went to a place to get my car inspected. This year, however I did some research and decided to come here. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Maddie was the rep that greeted and assisted me today...she was wonderful! The waiting area is very clean, with ample chairs, coffee, a television, and restrooms for customers I also had my oil changed; tires rotated and balanced; and it was recommended that the car have a coolant system flush, along with a rear brake light replaced. I was out of there in 1.5 hours...on the 29th of November (one day left to the month/inspections due). There was an issue I knew about they brought it to my attention and I will happily have them do that work as well. My father was a car mechanic all of his life and I have written auto contracts...so I appreciate how well this went. I would recommend this business!! read more

This shop is AMAZING!!! I've been deployed for just shy of a year so my State inspection was well over due. I called at least 4 other shops who said they were all booked or could only do it if I left my Jeep there for over a day. I walked into this shop desperate and the mechanic had just a few minutes between scheduled appointments, but he took the time to help me out. The lady at the front desk even offered me a table while I sat and did my homework in their waiting room. My Jeep was ready in less than 20 minutes and the mechanic even came in and complimented my winch system which is a way straight to my heart since I love my Jeep. These people are very obviously huge supporters of the military and just all around good honest people. I'm the kid of a mechanic so I'm always suspicious of mechanics and letting them touch my Jeep. They have done light work on my car and I trust them. The only thing that would make this place better is if they had a shuttle and online scheduling. They are busy but they get the job done fast and right. I've gotten used to paying $80+ for an oil change, so when I paid significantly less here it was a pleasant surprise! One of the few places that offers a military discount still. I didn't speak much with them outside of my initial request and filling out some paperwork, but overheard the staff with other customers and they were very warm and inviting people. It's important to note that they're not a full service shop but they can recommend other places that will take care of you. My mufflers failed so they directed me to The Muffler Shop and they were great as well. You won't be disappointed with Beacons. I came here because of the good reviews. My car wouldn't start so I had it towed to these guys. I had an inspection with them about a year ago which was great and even got a military discount. They charged me $52 for the diagnosis of the problem and said that my car needed a new starter. The cost of a new starter for a Honda Accord came out to $580. A starter only costs around $100-$150. I found two different mechanics after this that would do the labor for $100 and less. There is no way this repair should cost almost $600 when it only takes 1.5 hours of labor. I will not be back here because of almost being ripped off. read more

WOW! Never have I been to a mechanic were they are so honest and so helpful. Went in for a state inspection, prepared to wait and was out in 25 minutes. I had a recent horrible experience at another shop (T.Q) who had my car from 8am-5pm and didn't even get to it. Oh and Christy hands down is the best!! Helped me with where to go before I came in being that my car wasn't registered in VA. Discount Tires referred me to this location to have them look at my breaks, and have to admit it was a great referral. I went in for an inspection and for them to see if anything were wrong with my breaks. This was my very first inspection because Nebraska never had them and Raleigh, NC I was waved for the first year. Told me my breaks were fine and Chevy is known for having the rust build up, but nothin unsafe about it. He did failed me because of my exhaust, which I knew about and he showed me what was wrong with it. He recommended me to go to the muffler shop, for a cheaper option, and told me exactly what they would do to fix it. Went to the muffler shop and got it fixed. He then passed me and I went on my way. Had a wonderful experience with Beacon Automotive Repair today! Took my husband's car in because the battery wouldn't stay charged. He has a Mercedes and takes it the dealership for all maintenance issues but with him recently being deployed I ended up having to handle the car problem on my own. They were recommended so highly by the auto store I went to to get the battery checked. I was greeted so friendly and was told every thing I needed to know about why the car wouldn't start. They put a new battery in and I left feeling well taking care of and the price was so much lower than I expected to pay. This is the best auto repair in town! It's the first shop I've found that I've never been nervous to take my car to. Just recently I had transmission issues with my car. They got me in right away on a Saturday. After doing a diagnostics check on my car they weren't able to fix the issue there but the woman at the front desk printed information on extended warranties and recall info and what to tell the dealership.
