Brought my car in because I could see oil around the valve cover gasket. Asked them to look it over…read moreand verify. They charged me $30 to look at t and provided an a free vehicle look over on other things. They let me know that it was indeed leaking and found an additional leak. They sent me a quote and I was flabbergasted at the price. The first original leak repair was quoted for $2,700. They did find another leak that would cost me an additional $1500 to repair . Way more than I was planning. I talked to a gearhead at my work and he said absolutely do not pay that. He said they do this to women, unfortunately. I talked to two other local shops who quoted me for everything on the original repair for $800 and $1100. Those quotes were for everything 17th Street was going to do for $2,700. I hate that companies do this. The icing on the cake was that when I drove my car home, I popped the hood and they didn't even attach the cover to the motor. It was just laying cockeyed on the top. It makes me question what else they didn't reinstall after looking over my car.

When I returned, they replaced only one front rotor under warranty. After a third visit for the same braking noise/vibration, I was told the problem was my rear brakes, even though those had been replaced only three months earlier at another shop. I then went to three independent shops, and all confirmed the real issue was a warped front rotor (the one not replaced the second time I brought it in). This should've been fixed the second or third time I brought it in. Instead they shifted blame to another shop, in which their work was confirmed to be fine. And for the price I paid, I shouldn't have had to bring it in multiple times for the same issue. Still after three visits and over $1,300 spent, my issue was still not properly fixed. The only good thing about this experience was that it was under warranty, and another shop was able to fix my brakes properly. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before trusting this shop, and if possible save your time and go elsewhere.

They expressed their concerns with me using a 13 year old donut tire (oops) and it gave me the opportunity to make an informed decision to buy a new full size spare without it feeling pushy. They also worked with my budget which I am so grateful for. The wait wasn't too long but in that timeframe I watched them treat everyone who walked in that door like someone they already knew. Also had issues with my tpms and they fixed that too. I was kept aware the entire time. Will for sure always come back. I believe Nick was helping me and he was super attentive and knowledgeable. He said it let it sit and try again. The next morning I called David at Bayside Tire and Auto and told him the story. He asked if the warning lights had come on, which they hadn't. His instructions were to only bring it to him for replacement if the warning lights came on or it didn't eventually start. The problem was due to topping off after the pump stopped. There was a warning in my new vehicle's owner's manual to not ever do this. I highly value the honesty of Bayside Tire and Auto. Another repair center would have just replaced the carbon filter.
