This is a fake terrible dealership and id bet $1,000 that almost all or at least most of these reviews are fake, cuz me and my husband purchased a 2017 Hyundai elantra 6 months ago and they said they would send our hard front anx rear plates in the mail and the sticker shortly after we left them, we'll now 6 months later..and they no longer answer our calls or texts, and I just googled them and it said they are permanently closed, its a scam auto shop, and onto of it all..the car has nonstop steadily falling apart Lil by little one problem after another, its ridiculous, we're gonna find yall..and we WILL be sueing . read more

I can't say how stoked I am to be the owner of the 2008 Chevy Avalanche LTZ that I purchased from Orange Auto!!! I came across this awesome place on Monday the 2nd of April 2018 while actually going to look at another Avalanche on a different lot. The Orange color of the building caught my eye, as well as the color of the truck (white) against the building itself. After test driving the truck on Monday, I had my wife look at it on Tuesday and she gave me the blessing to buy. I've had the most amazing car buying experience ever right here at Orange Auto. I've shopped around for a used Chevy SUV for a couple of months. Most of the vehicles were in poor condition, had high miles, odometer issues, rust, oil leaks etc. Finally, I met Sharri, the owner of Orange Auto. I like the Chevy Suburban and just so happens that she had a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban. After looking the vehicle over it looked good to me but I am not a mechanic so I wanted my mechanics at Ace Auto to check it out. Sharri said sure to an inspection and offered to have one of her guys dropped it off there and pick it up the next day. Rodney at Ace said that the car was in good condition so I decided to purchased it. I called Sharri and met with her right before closing hours. At no point did I ever feel pressured, concerned or uncomfortable. This experience was quite the opposite, I trusted her completely and had no worries. To further exceed my expectations, after telling Sharri that I have to work late the next day (Friday) and may have to pickup the truck on Saturday she offered to have someone deliver it to my house. This has definitely been an experience that I would not want to repeat and one that I would not wish on anyone. I have had issue after issue since DAY 1!!! Although Sharri was polite about everything, it was a waste of my time. gas and more importantly money on tolls going back and forth from Portsmouth only to continue to end up with the same results! More money that will have to come out of my pocket. I suggest that anyone looking to get anything from this dealership to rethink their decision and go to a place with service and repair on site that can properly inspect these lemons prior to them being sold. I STILL have an issue that they had my vehicle for 7 days for and did not even replace the gas that was used and gave me a loaner with the gas light on!!!!! I honestly thought I was going to get to write a rave review for this dealership...but am glad I waited until we received our documents. Our inital experience was good...Sharri was polite and not pushy; when a couple of things were found to be in need of repair, she got them taken care of that day (we live 2 hours away). However, I would not advise anyone from NC to buy from this dealership. I can't speak for someone from VA. Every time my husband or I have previously purchased vehicles from dealers, all expenses related to tax, title, and registration were paid in the purchase process. My husband even asked Sharri to confirm that he would not be getting a property tax bill immediately after purchasing this truck. She told him that would not happen. This week, we received our Temporary Registration & Temporary license plate. Why? The property taxes were not paid. When we called Orange Auto, they told us that they don't cover that because it is a 6-month bill in NC (it's not...it's annual, paid at the same time as registration, which cannot be completed without this payment). We have NEVER had this happen with another dealer in NC or VA and it was the reason we wanted to purchase through a dealer, rather than an individual. Needless to say, we are very disappointed. They had appeared to be professional, polite, and concerned about their reputation when we made our purchase, but lied to us while trying to make the sale. If Sharri simply told us directly that they didn't pay property taxes--especially when my husband asked specifically, we could have made a decision about whether we still wanted to make the purchase. The dishonesty is disturbing. I honestly wish we could just return the vehicle and buy from someone else now. Oh, and additionally, the check engine light came on during the 2 hour drive home...we already have another repair to make. read more
