My daughter took her car in because the engine was making a knocking noise. She checked her oil and…read morenoticed it was low and was worried the engine was damaged. An hour later, they bring her car back from a test drive and the transmission is shot. The car is shuddering like it's going over railroad tracks with each shift. It was NOT doing this when she brought the car in, and multiple people who were passengers in her car the days prior also said the transmission was behaving normally. Now they're telling her she needs a whole new transmission. Then they told her that they found oil in the transmission. The staff stood in a circle around her laughing at her in front of numerous other customers while informing her that she was the one that put oil in it. This is patently absurd because we've never touched the transmission. In fact, the only people who have touched the transmission and/or the fluid in it since she purchased the car, was Eavers. I then informed the front office that I want to speak to the store owner. They told me they are a corporate office and have a regional manager. I gave them my information because they wouldn't give me his information, and promised me he would call. That was Friday, it's now Wednesday and no call. I also emailed the corporate office in Ohio about the situation and they are ignoring my emails too. Better Business Bureau is my next stop. This is my second historically terrible encounter with this shop. I wouldn't take my car here if it was the last place in town. Go to Sours instead. They'll at least treat you like a human being instead of a walking ATM machine.

I called on a Tuesday afternoon and asked them when they could do an oil change on my Jeep. The gentleman told me that they could do it Wednesday at 7:30 am or 1:00 pm. I told him I would take the early appointment. He asked if I wanted a tire rotation as well. I said sure a tire rotation and a synthetic oil change at 7:30 am. I told him I would drop it off Tuesday evening and leave overnight since it was an early appointment. On Wednesday afternoon around 1:00 pm to pick up our jeep, much to our dismay the tire rotation was done but they hadn't done the oil change yet. The gentleman told we it would be about 45 minutes, I told him I would come back I didn't feel like waiting in a tire shop. We went on home and after about an hour and half I called to see if the job was complete. After several minutes on hold I was told yes it's ready. I go down to pick up and notice it's cheaper than expected when I'm paying. They tell me the keys are in it and have a nice day. I went out and looked at the receipt and realized that they used standard oil. (Really?) I mean a professional shop should ask and at least make a note when specifically requesting synthetic oil. So not only was it not ready on time but they goofed it up as well! We ended up getting a refund and the only thing the counter person had to say was "there's that" as he handed me the receipt for my refund. Definitely not the shop for us. We will keep looking and I suggest you do too.

Not one time in four weeks did this place contact us, we had to contact them on every occasion to get updates. They "claimed" the specialist didn't have very much time to look at the car, again NEVER contacting us we had to reach out to them. After four weeks with NOTHING no answers, no car fixed NOTHING we had our car towed to a different location. United had looked at the car and found the issues within 72 hours. Thankfully United is actually here to help. I would never recommend Idiehl.

Had a tire rotation at a different shop, started knocking when I left work a few days later…read more Eavers was close by so stopped in to see if they could look at it. It was the end of the day and I didn't expect that they would look at it the same day, but they did. They figured out that the lug nuts were loose on one tire and they tightened them and checked the rest of the tires. No charge, no appointment, and I was in and out in 15 minutes.

I called Eavers for assistance with my Ford Escape and was told to bring it in for a diagnosis. I…read morewas assured they would have an answer within an hour, but it ultimately took about seven hours. Their labor rate is $150 per hour, so timely and accurate communication about the status of the vehicle was especially important. The issue was determined to be the water pump, but the warranty claim was not submitted correctly, leaving me facing a $1,200 out-of-pocket expense. I explained that, as a mother of a medically complex child, coming up with that amount immediately would be difficult, but I could pay it within a week. I was assured that would not be a problem and that the vehicle would be ready by then. After having my car for approximately 2 1/2 weeks, I called to pay and was told the vehicle would be ready in 30 minutes. To give them extra time, I arrived two hours later. When I got there, they initially couldn't locate my file. Once they found it, no one could clearly explain the status of my vehicle. After asking to speak with someone else, I was informed that the repair had not even been started. The explanation given was that they had the wrong parts. Considering they had already had my vehicle for more than two weeks, this was extremely frustrating--especially after I had been told it would be ready that day. I asked whether the repair could at least be completed the following week, but was told they could not guarantee anything. I explained that this is my only vehicle and that I rely on it to get my daughter to her medical appointments at UVA. Rather than offering any solution, I felt as though I was being encouraged to take my business elsewhere as he dangled the keys in front of me. I have never had such a poor experience with a mechanic shop. Eavers used to have an excellent reputation, but my experience since the ownership change has been disappointing from start to finish. Charging $150 per hour creates an expectation of professionalism, communication, and efficiency that was simply not reflected in my experience. Based on my experience, I would not recommend them if they were the last shop on earth.
