During the work they saw an issue with my lug nuts that I also remembered having trouble with but had forgotten about. There was no pressure to replace them but wanted to make me aware of the issue. My dad went there to buy some tires --…read moreyes, they're used, but that doesn't justify selling absolute garbage with nails embedded in them and holes all over. It's straight-up fraud. We don't even live close, yet we wasted our time coming back over and over trying to return them, only to be met with lies and excuses. The person in charge of refunds -- Emy or Emely -- was never there. And when we finally caught her, all she did was throw more pathetic excuses in our face just to say, in the end, that they 'don't do refunds.' Honestly, this place is run by scammers. No wonder they live so miserably -- they rob people for a living. Businesses like this are a disgrace and will never go anywhere but down.

On replacing the tire they said that the tire pressure monitor needed replacement, too; and I okayed the additional work. The shop could not get the tire pressure monitor system to reset. Almost three weeks later while I was on business in Richmond, the steering stability warning light came on. I took the vehicle to a local dealer where they found that THE WRONG SIZE TIRE had been installed by Walmart and the 'new' tire pressure monitor was defective. Trying to resolve the situation and get my money back for the latter repairs has been an ordeal. Over a dozen calls so far, still no $$, only their internal insurance claim process.

I have seen some minor mistakes occasionally, like we all do, but nothing major. Jeff even crawled inside my car engine block looking for an AC leak one time for a couple of hours. It was the end of the day and I didn't expect that they would look at it the same day, but they did. They figured out that the lug nuts were loose on one tire and they tightened them and checked the rest of the tires. No charge, no appointment, and I was in and out in 15 minutes.

I called Eavers for assistance with my Ford Escape and was told to bring it in for a diagnosis. I…read morewas assured they would have an answer within an hour, but it ultimately took about seven hours. Their labor rate is $150 per hour, so timely and accurate communication about the status of the vehicle was especially important. The issue was determined to be the water pump, but the warranty claim was not submitted correctly, leaving me facing a $1,200 out-of-pocket expense. I explained that, as a mother of a medically complex child, coming up with that amount immediately would be difficult, but I could pay it within a week. I was assured that would not be a problem and that the vehicle would be ready by then. After having my car for approximately 2 1/2 weeks, I called to pay and was told the vehicle would be ready in 30 minutes. To give them extra time, I arrived two hours later. When I got there, they initially couldn't locate my file. Once they found it, no one could clearly explain the status of my vehicle. After asking to speak with someone else, I was informed that the repair had not even been started. The explanation given was that they had the wrong parts. Considering they had already had my vehicle for more than two weeks, this was extremely frustrating--especially after I had been told it would be ready that day. I asked whether the repair could at least be completed the following week, but was told they could not guarantee anything. I explained that this is my only vehicle and that I rely on it to get my daughter to her medical appointments at UVA. Rather than offering any solution, I felt as though I was being encouraged to take my business elsewhere as he dangled the keys in front of me. I have never had such a poor experience with a mechanic shop. Eavers used to have an excellent reputation, but my experience since the ownership change has been disappointing from start to finish. Charging $150 per hour creates an expectation of professionalism, communication, and efficiency that was simply not reflected in my experience. Based on my experience, I would not recommend them if they were the last shop on earth.
