I recently moved to Charlottesville and had to get my car inspected. I took my car here on the recommendation of a coworker and I'm thankful I did! Meghan was very courteous when I walked in and asked about getting the car inspected, and she managed my expectations by saying it might be late afternoon before they could get to it. Not a big deal, so I decided to leave it with them and catch an Uber to work. She called me before noon to let me know my car passed inspection and was ready to go. When I went back to pay for the inspection and get my car, I discovered that not only did they inspect and pass my car, but they also did a minor task that wasn't related to the inspection for no extra charge...without me even asking for it...a nice surprise! They really went above and beyond to make it a good experience. I will definitely be giving them more business in the future. read more

These folks really know their Hondas. Took my electrically challenged Accord it for diagnosis and repair after another shop couldn't find the problem. Fixed it at a fair price in a short amount of time. Will be taking all of my vehicles there from now on. read more

Had a great experience here today. I made my appointment last week. Dropped it off this morning to replace my side view mirror and get an inspection. The price was great and both Heidi and Megan were so helpful and nice. Thanks so much. I'll definitely be a repeat customer. read more

Service is fantastic and their prices are very reasonable for the great work they do. They allowed me to buy my own parts and they upgraded my suspension, brakes and transmission shifter. Car runs great. Highly recommended. read more

For five years I have used Thomas Wheel Alignment for my regular maintenance, and I always recommend them to everyone. Last week I was heading out of town for vacation when my engine light came on. I called Heidi and explained the situation. Despite being fully booked that day, they got me in, replaced an oxygen sensor, and had me on the road within an hour. These folks saved my vacation. They are the definition of a hometown mechanic you can count on to have your back. read more

The absolute BEST car repair shop I have ever been to. They're a completely honest shop and I wouldn't trust ANYwhere else. They will tell you what needs to be fixed ASAP and what can wait a little if you're tight on money and don't have a load to spend on car repairs. Go see them, you won't regret it read more

I've scheduled two car inspections with this business. The first time I wasn't allowed to stay and wait on my vehicle because the wait one was only available for 7:30 appointments(but there were two customers sitting). The second time I made a early 7:30 appointment, showed up on time and still unable to wait in the waiting area for my vehicle (again three customers were sitting waiting). Not sure if race played a part but I felt like it did. The wife has terrible customer service skills. read more

Rip off artists. Do not let them fix your car. They will tell you that you need parts that are perfectly fine, also they lie when they inspect your car. Trying to charge me almost a grand for what should have cost $16. I've had two other mechanics tell me this, I went to Thomas on March 1st, was given a bogus quote and walked out. read more

We have been regular customers to Thomas Wheel Alignment for the past few years. My complaint is about Heidi , the lady in the office. She clearly needs some training with customer service. In the past , I have overlooked her rude behavior because the garage is convenient and does satisfactory work. However, I would not take my kids bike to them at this point. I refuse to patronize a business owner that has the emotional stability of a 14 year old and the bedside manner of a prison guard. read more

Came in specifically for generic cat converter on referral by friend. $58 and several hours to confirm exactly what they now indicate they knew to begin with - can't do it on my vehicle. Would have respected them more if they simply said "don't waste your morning and $ b/c we can't help you." I had been very clear at call in and drop off that anything but a generic cat converter was of no interest on this vehicle. Also no shuttle service. All that said, my impression is that they know their stuff when it comes to cat converters and their replacement price on branded parts was reasonable. read more

I no longer live in Charlottesville, but when I did this had become the only place I would bring my car. (they'll probably remember my little green '93 Mazda Protege with the two missing hub caps and the pointless alarm system that came with the car when I bought it. :D ) I'd been ripped off several times in a row by U___ T____ & A___ and when a coworker recommended Thomas Wheel Alignment I gave it a shot. I'm so glad I did. I lived close by so it was convenient, and I would drop my car off around 7:30 am before work, let them know what was going on, and they would get back to me a few hours later either to tell me it was done, and always with an amazingly reasonable rate, or to let me know if by chance they came across anything else that they wanted to run by me. Their work was always top notch an their rates were honest, lower than any dealership as well as the mainstream shops. The woman who works in the office was always super friendly and helpful as well. Basically car repairs went from something stressful to something that was actually *pleasant* and completely stress free. If you can imagine dropping your car off at the shop and having no worries and total trust, that's what it was for me. My only regret is that I didn't know about TWA years earlier. Just prior to finding them I wasted over $1,100 at U___T___ when I'm now pretty positive I would have been quoted much less at Thomas. One of the problems I experienced at the other place was that every time I'd drop my car off for one problem I'd get it back with another...and then another..... But that was definitely not the case with Thomas. Here in Florida I really miss my trusty Thomas Wheel Alignment. A good, honest, quality mechanic is hard to come by. I joked with them before moving that I'd have to drive my car up to Cville when it came time for repairs. :D read more
