This auto shop is seriously so honest and truthful. They live up to their motto and name. The first auto shop was telling me that my breaks were at 2/32 of an inch remaining and that I needed to promptly replace my front break pads, drums, and rear. The first auto shop told me that the gears were now metal on metal. For context, I left my car idle for 2 weeks and every time I would break there was a low murmur. My car only has 70K miles on it. The Straight Up mechanic said I probably do not need my rear break pads replaced. The Straight Up mechanic assured me over the phone that this can be explained by rust build-up and what I was hearing was perfectly normal, but he would need to inspect it to see what I would actually need to get done. When I brought in my car, the mechanic inspected my bread pads front and rear. He promptly told me I did not need any replacements and that the first auto shop was lying about what work my car needed done. Straight Up did not charge me anything at all, even for checking my break pads. I highly recommend this place to anyone because they are honest and will not take advantage of you. If I ever need my car serviced, I will for sure bring my car back here.

Meghan was very courteous when I walked in and asked about getting the car inspected, and she managed my expectations by saying it might be late afternoon before they could get to it. Not a big deal, so I decided to leave it with them and catch an Uber to work. She called me before noon to let me know my car passed inspection and was ready to go. When I went back to pay for the inspection and get my car, I discovered that not only did they inspect and pass my car, but they also did a minor task that wasn't related to the inspection for no extra charge...without me even asking for it...a nice surprise!
