Terrific place--know what they're doing, honest, reliable. Been going there since 2005. 50 x better than the dealership.

I feel so fortunate to have found an honest and dependable place to bring my import! Hilary is willing to share her knowledge and is terrific about scheduling quickly. I had my 40k mile service done there and it cost me a fraction of what the dealer was charging. They are respectful and they know their stuff! Thank you Auto Teknika! read more

Disappointed again. They made careless errors on two previous repairs. Used them again (it's been 3 years with them and this car), and the door ($700 door latch replace) didn't work properly! Did they not test it before calling me to pick it up? After rescheduling to drop it off and pick it up again (my time is certainly not worth anything), Adrian says, "Don't worry, this is on us". Ya think? That's mighty generous of them. Does that mean they're going to compensate me for MY time? Two stars because at least the car appears to be RUNNING now (which was actually not the case the last time they called me to pick it up a year or so ago- not kidding!) Three fails out of three visits- shame on me. read more

I tried the rest and they are the best. The stealerships and other independent garages can't hold a candle to the team at Teknika. They are competent, fair and honest. You know that feeling when you trust your mechanic? It's nirvana read more

I am only giving these people one star because it is the lowest rating. When an issue arose with my vehicle I requested to speak to the manager. I received an email. I asked again to speak with the manager and I was sent a text. Refusal to speak to me regarding my car is not the way to do business. Not to mention they gave me my car back in worse shape than when I left it with them and they refuse to do anything about it. the manager sent me a condescending and rude email with threats!! these people are so unprofessional. they are not worthy of even one star. I am in shock about the way the manager, Adrian, has treated me and the way he runs his poor excuse for a business. read more

Good neighborhood shop for foreign car repairs. Owner is a straight shooter, stands behind their work, and repairs are performed at a fair price in a timely manner. Customer is treated right there. I like the fact that they respond quickly to emails in ref. to servicing your car during and if you have questions afterwards. I have an old Volvo wagon and trust them to do the work I can't do myself. read more

These guys are really great. I called to have my brakes looked at, and they took my car on the same day and called me before close to discuss options. The dealer had quoted me $4k for new rotors and pads on all 4 corners, but Jeff said the fronts can be resurfaced and the rears were only showing normal wear. They were able to complete the work the next day, and I was good to go. What I like most about these guys is: - They saw me immediately - They didn't try to upsell me. They only fixed what needed to be fixed that moment -- and they fixed it instead of replacing it outright. One day, I will certainly need new rotors, but they were honest and told me I didn't need to do it right now. 5 Stars. PS: One of the dudes had a BMW tattoo on his forearm, so you know they are legit. read more

The WORSE! My husband and I have frequented here with many different cars and have spent MAJOR money! Just recently spent $2800 to get work done. Not only that on top of the $2800 I spent they charged us for a diagnostic. From previous history they knew what was going on with my car. Picked up car and there was no transmission fluid and low oil. At no point in time did they suggest to check our fluids, just as an added courtesy. Two days later my oil pressure light comes on and I call them and they tell me to drop it off. Seeing that they just performed work, they were going to check it and make sure all was ok. Nope, they quoted me another astronomical fee and then proceeded to tell me that they are charging us for another diagnostic. I called and asked to speak to a manager, and Aaron said he could not give me that information on who the manager was at that time and giggles. I proceeded to tell Aaron that it wasn't good customer service to treat a customer who had been patronizing their business for so long in such a way and he acted as if he wasn't on the phone listening to me at all. Needless to say, I paid the diagnostic and will NEVER return bc clearly they get away with treating loyal customers poorly and management has instructed them to not provide any manager/owner info! Then they had a nerve tO send me an email telling me "However we dislike having disputes of this sort with customers and because of that we are not inclined to retain you as a customer and recommend you find another shop to work on your cars." F* narcissists!! read more

I had taken my VW Jetta to anther local garage after the check engine light was on and it wasn't driving well. They told me to use fuel injector cleaner and that they couldn't help me, because their machine couldn't identify what code was causing the check engine light. They suggested I take it to a dealer as well. Not wanting to be swindled by a dealer my husband and I did a google search for local garages specializing in foreign cars where we found Auto Teknika. I called and told them the issue and dropped it off the following week. Within an hour they called to tell me all I needed were new spark plugs. A $12 fix saved me who knows how much at a dealership! They fixed it that day and also did my inspection that was about to expire. All in all a great experience and I'll definitely take my car here in the future if needed! read more

Beware - sloppy, unethical, and will try to sell you unneeded services. I dropped my car off a few weeks back, was told that there was $3K worth of repairs (with little to no specifics), and was pressured into buying their services on the spot. Literally, they told me my car may not make it home and cause an accident. Luckily I opted against their advice and sought 2 separate opinions from different shops. Each shop refuted Auto Teknika's claims (from John and his mechanics). If you do choose to use them then I encourage you to press for specifics when they make car repair recommendations. In addition, I would ask them what tools, scanners, and techniques were used to assess car. I came to find out my neighbor attempted to use this shop and they were given a similar story of ($1750 repairs and car may not make it home). After some back and forth the manager told them that the "mechanic had confused the cars on his test drive", which just shows their lack of organization, their unscientific approach to diagnostics, and the shop's overall sloppiness. There are a number of honest, high quality repair shops in the area. This is not one of them. read more

went there for my bmw to have the door lock fixed - what i thought was going to be a simple fix. after calling twice to check on the progress of just looking into the problem - NOT fixing it yet - i finally get an answer mid-afternoon. was told that they were too busy to 1) pick up the part that afternoon and 2) call the dealership to see if the part (which had to be sold in a set of two) would work on any of my doors, or if it would work on another bmw of someone i know with the same problem. i didn't need to replace any other lock, so i was trying to explore all my options. the employee took a tone and told me to do it, it wasn't his job to inform me if that part could be used on another bmw, and that i had wasted the last 10 minutes of his time with our conversation b/c he was too busy. surprised that he was arguing with me, i sincerely asked him if he was too busy for my business and received no answer. so i just told him that i would be up the car, but after i had to pay a $64 labor fee of course. i was disappointed in this man's behavior. he consistently cut me off and to be honest, i didn't get a good feel that they really knew a lot about bmw's. if you're a german car service center, bmw being one of the cars you specialize in, shouldn't you know if a door lock acuator would work on any door, or on the door of another bmw??? just wanted to pass this along to anyone searching for a bmw repair/service center other than the dealership. i would not recommend this one. read more
