Sales specialist Remy Duguet was well-versed in Subaru's reliability and safety record. Given his knowledge of each model's specs, he made it easier to decide which best met our needs, going out of his way time and again to ensure the Forester would work for us. He was responsible and followed up at every turn. We highly recommend Remy and believe he reflects the Subaru culture and values as does the dealership. Awful experience and the mechanic tried to sell a new key fob because he didn't want to deal with the electrical issue. In my way home, after rotating and balancing, my tire starts to go flat. I've used CMA Valley Subaru for the last 4 years for service of my Subaru and always had exceptional service. In fact, two weeks prior to my last visit, I had another outstanding interaction with this dealership. When I was leaving my oil change service, I was told I needed new tires by Harry, who'd printed off a quote for tires of what was in stock. I responded with no thank you, I'm aware I need tires but I plan on researching, comparing, and reviewing prior to purchasing. He proceeds to tell me that if I plan on buying, he encourages me to purchase through the CMA Valley Subaru website, and any tires ordered through the site come with their 24 month tire protection plan. Wonderful! The following week, I set out to find my next set of tires. After several evenings of reviewing what they offered, I finally settled on exactly what I wanted. I went through the website as instructed. Making my appointment for service, I selected to wait at the dealership while my tires were installed followed by a four-wheel alignment. Living about an hour away, I don't have an option to drop off with the dealership. Anyway, time for my appointment arrived and I came to the dealership stating that I was aware I was early, I didn't mind waiting longer as I had work to keep me busy. 45 minutes passed and Harry comes up to me, sitting on the arm of the chair, feet in the seat, to inform me they did not have the tires I'd chosen. Oh, no! So, what happened to the tires I'd painstakingly chosen? They'd sold them two days prior. At this point, I'm not understanding how they sold my tires- tires that they do not keep in stock (so you would think someone would question why these tires showed up to the shop). Harry said "well I will see what we have in stock and be right back". He comes back with a quote for Continental tires. Nope! I give him the papers back and state this is not what I want, this is not what I ordered. I want my tires. Now Harry wants to argue with me. He says "I'm sorry, but you didn't pay for them. We can sell them to anyone, we don't know what our customers order". But, you see, I ordered them through the site as YOU'd suggested, there was no option to pay. I was fully anticipating paying, but it wasn't an option on the site. He again argues, "ma'am I'm sorry, you didn't pay." Maybe he didn't hear me the first time? I restate " there was NO option to pay". He shrugs, says there's nothing he can do, and he'll bring my car around. So, you're telling me, that they don't know what tires their customers order through THEIR portal? The manager, a kind woman named Carmen comes over, with Harry lurking over her shoulder. I told her I'd happily speak with her, but I have nothing to say to the gaslighting jerk behind her and if we are to have a conversation, he needs to leave. Harry smurks, shrugs his shoulders and walks away. Carmen let me rant about how I was disappointed , how I didn't understand how I went by their instructions to order, and then they just sell my tires. She stated that they were unaware of this being an issue, it'd never happened before, blah, blah, blah. She offered me a free four-wheel alignment, to reorder the tires I'd wanted, give me a rental for free while we waited to have my tires delivered to their dealership, and have an employee return my car to me and pickup the rental once my car was ready in a few days. Ok, that's a nice offer. I take her up on it, apologizing for being upset with them. She apologized again. Harry however, never once apologized, never took responsibility (his name is at the bottom of the website that you order the tires through, when you're choosing your appointment date and time), just acting like everything was my fault. The next day, I called around to other Subaru dealerships that also use the same format (order tires through their website that is set up the EXACT same way as CMA). Speaking to one, I inquired: "If I want to order tires through your website, I just follow the site and place the order? I don't have to pay?" Nate "yes, ma'am, you don't pay until after your tires have been installed" Me: "But do I have to worry about you selling my tires if I haven't paid for them??" Nate: "no, when a customer orders tires, we immediately get an email notification that includes customer name and what tires they ordered. We then put them off to the side with customer name so they aren't sold". Ahh. Another Subaru dealership has this setup, and you're expecting me to believe that CMA is not notified and have no way of knowing who orders what tires (the way Harry claims)?? That's where the true problem lies. Instead of owning that they'd made a mistake, did he lie to me to cover himself. I don't like being lied to, nor do I appreciate being treated like I had no idea what I was talking about. This experience has completely broken my trust, which is unfortunate because I felt they truly did have the best customer service and prices around. I won't be back. read more

This place FUCKING sucks! they have no ability to work withouth the steo by step guide so they can drag their feet and over charge. They have had my vehicle for a week and half and STILL havent returned it over a part i could have gotten for more then half price most likely and could have had and reinstalled the same day.... and thats assumiung thats even the problem, because i doubt it. The woman that anwsers the phone is unhelpful, rude, and quick to snap on customers in order to provoke an "I GOT YOUR CAR WHAT YOU GONNA DO..." attitude and then is even quicker to blame it on you... IF I get the car back id rather take it to a cave light it on fire and piss all over it before i take it back to them..... 3/26/2024 Yes I'm back again adding to this review because these useless people that work in Subaru valley at Stanton shop anyways suck they have consistently replaced parts that later on were useless to replace because of a wire fraud or something else they've had my car for a month and a week when they're average service date is 5 days these mechanics don't know anything they're talking about they don't even know about their own diagnostic system for Subaru select monitor these people fucking suck these people do not care about you or your car they are only capable of diagnosing one part a week these people are stupid useless or just deliberately trying to cause you more money and cost you more money believe m not take your vehicle to these people read more

We were on a trip when our car had unexpected transmission problems.  We were very happy with the service that CMA's Valley Subaru provided.  Despite the unplanned, emergency nature of our arrival, the dealership really answered the call to help us out.  They did not brush us off, and to the contrary it felt like they went above and beyond to help us out in a pinch.  Although the situation itself was stressful, the treatment we received helped to ease our concerns and provide some peace of mind -- as much as possible under the circumstances. Obviously we would have preferred if nothing went wrong with our car in the first place (which wasn't purchased here).  But, all things considered, we consider ourselves fortunate to find this dealership in our vicinity when the problems arose.  Very happy with our experience with this dealership. read more

And in choosing the vehicles to give me a hands on experience to learn about the cars and do a test drive, she introduced me to an amazing Forester Sport that I left the dealership with in under three hours. We bought our Subaru at CMA and have been incredibly happy with IT and them. We live in Charlottesville and drive to Staunton to bring our Subaru in for service HAPPILY. The difference in attitude/price and flexibility between CMA and our local CVille Subaru dealer is night and day and well worth the 30 min drive. When we buy our next Subaru it will definitely be from CMA. One additional point - we recently had a minor warranty repair done. Easy/simple and no frustration. The BEST. We bought our first Outback from CMA back in 2015 and just traded it in on a new 2023 Onyx XT. The experience was every bit as pleasant, un-pressured and helpful as the first one. Clayton and Luce were awesome. The entire experience took 3 hours end to end. Got a great trade in $ for our 2016 Outback and the entire staff could not have been more helpful or more accommodating. I realized that all of this may sound a but overblown but I really appreciate a business that still understands what customer service and customer-first ACTUALLY mean. I haven't interacted with a business, either personally or professionally in the last 10 years that doesn't claim to be "customer-centric". Generously, I'd say 10% ACTUALLY live up to that claim. And only 20% actually EVEN try. For 80% it's a slogan. CMA over-delivers on customer service. Such a "novel" experience these days and even more so for a car dealership. I said it after our first buying experience - 'we'd go first to CMA for our next Subaru' even though there are three dealers closer to where we live. We did and we wouldn't change a thing. read more

This is for CMA Valley Nissan - Wow is the first word that pops into my mind and it isn't a good wow. I went into the dealership this evening to assist my mom with some customer service issues she's been experiencing and I never thought any company with "such good service" would act the way the manager did tonight. When a GENERAL SALES MANAGER doesn't take responsibility for his salespeople someone else should be manager or they should rethink the whole set-up all together. Chris Pannell, the manager, did not take responsibility for the issues his salesperson, Braxton Yeago, caused and just kept repeating "I don't know what he said" and "I'm not responsible for Braxton". Ummmm, isn't that what a manager is for? I knew that the Valley dealerships, sorry "CMA's Valley" were shady but I honestly thought they were better than this. If you're smart just stay away, even if you have to drive a little ways it will be worth it. And it's really sad that a manager has to "buck up" to a woman, dude, you should be better than that. Service department is a rip-off. Have taken two different vehicles to them trying to tell me I had major problems with both . One has a premium warranty.said because they couldn't find where I had an oil change in 32000 miles it was not covered. Car fax said had one in January. Told me I needed a new engine and turbo quoted me $10,500 for repair. They have lost there mind. Went in cause the engine light came on. Told them I wanted an oil change and told them about the engine light. Most mechanics would have checked the engine light diagnostic first. Nope not here said they changed the oil first Cause when I asked them if the engine and turbo is bad why change the oil. Now if the engine is gone I wouldn't have been able to drive it to Harrisonburg' and back let alone to another place in town to have them repair my car. No slug in engine nothing wrong with engine just the turbo. I will never buy or bring any of my cars ever again!! I could have easily had my husband taken and fixed my car ( because this is what he teaches) but I had the premium package to supposedly cover things like this. Believe me we had some choice words for them before we left. Service manager sucked had an attitude and a smirk on his face the whole time. Telling me either way he would make $ 1300 off of fixing my car . AllI wanted was them to honor the contract and fix my car. read more

I was interested in seeing a particular upholstery option that was not on the lot and Matt Hollenbeck arranged to have me see it on a friends recently purchased vehicle. Brandy Lloyd in internet Sales was very prompt, professional, and transparent in her email and phone communications. Have not yet had Subaru service there but have had good experiences with my VW at the affiliated Valley Volkswagen across the street. read more

Valley Nissan of Staunton this place is a glorified joke. They have now had my son's car for almost a month to repair it somebody else see a big problem with this. This place is ridiculous I wouldn't buy Sh*t from them.... how can they even justify this because i cant. He bought a 2015 Explorer and literally has driven it 3 times in over 2 months the rest of the time yep Nissan has had it. They would also have my lawyer at this point. I have brought my car here to be serviced twice and have been really impressed with their service. First time my car was making a weird noise every time I started it. I took it in, they spent about 1.5 hours looking at it, and couldn't find anything wrong so they didn't charge me! Second time came for an oil change and I was in and out within 25 minutes of my appointment time. They looked over my entire car carefully and topped off all my fluids. Didn't give them 5 stars because I have yet to attempt trading in my car and purchasing a new one. read more

The service department is terrible to deal with. I have had my Nissan Pathfinder for 3 years now and every experience has been negative. When they have had to order parts they tell us they will call when they arrive, they never do but ironically every time we call to inquire about them "They arrived with this morning." One time I took my car to have the oil changed and 6 hours later my car was finally ready. I wish I was exaggerating. Another time (unfortunately we had had several issues with this new Pathfinder) I took it in on Monday morning and was told it would be ready on Tuesday. It wasn't ready until Thursday afternoon. We also asked about getting a loaner car and they said they would call us right back. That didn't happen. They also always say they vacuumed the car when I would take it for an oil change but it was never vacuumed. I really don't care that it wasn't vacuumed but don't tell me it was when it wasn't because that makes me wonder what else you claimed to do but didn't. So, bottom line, they are the service department just not necessarily good service. read more

What a waste of time! Their asking price for a used vehicle was $5,000 higher than what the price of that same vehicle was a year ago when it was new. Even though I find that unreasonable, I do not have a problem with it as they have the right to ask what they feel is right. The problem I had was that during my email correspondence with their sales representative (Kelly A.), I expressed to her in clear terms that I am not willing to pay any premium (i.e. above the new car price). Her response was that I should make the 30-minute drive and she will try her best to work something out. Much to my dismay and frustration, that was a lie as after spending 2+ hours on this venture they were not willing to negotiate much and were still asking thousands more than the cost of the same car when it was new. Plus all of them including their manager made me believe that I was the dumb one, that I should not believe everything I read on the internet like the fair market values quoted on Edmunds, and tried to push how much the monthly payments would be (and not what the total price they were asking). The time of the buyer does not have any value in their eyes. I recommend avoiding them at all costs! read more

Came in with my 2006 Nissan Titan skipping and hesitating when accelerating. They did diagnostics and told me I needed to replaced all four catalytic converters. The estimate was over 5,000. I took It to two different shops and both said there was no problem with the back converters. The one doing the work even allowed me to purchase the parts (which were rated better then OEM & lifetime warranty) at a fifth of Nissan's price, and only taking 5-6 hours labor instead of 11 hours. I know they need to make money but I feel like they're trying to take advantage. Was also told that if the mechanic finished in less time then quoted, I'd still be charged for the full time quoted- and he'd go on to work on another car (so I'd be paying for hours where he'd be working on and charging labor to another job also)- doesn't sound fair to me. I love my Titan, has been great towing our camper. Will think twice about purchasing another Nissan. Can't see using their service department again!!! ZERO trust in the quality of work here- too bad. read more
