PLAN TO BUY AND GO: Too small a space inside for seating and only enough outside for maybe a couple of seats, so this is a buy and take away format. ACCESSIBILITY: That I have posted 22 photos of this bakery since it opened in 2021 to now, it is evident that I am a fan of the offerings and also an avid supporter of mom-n-pop local businesses. But I am also a customer with disabilities and given the ADA will turn 36 years old this month, it is also an appropriate time to say why they seldom get my business anymore. It is all about the location's small parking lot with angled spaces and only one ADA compliant spot at the far end, near a hair salon, with often someone parking (illegally) in the striped access aisle. The only way for a wheelchair user to get up on to the walkway to get into the doors of the shops is through that access aisle and when it is blocked, so am I. For that reason, this good business has largely lost my business. Alas. Recently we ordered an almond croissant and a lemon blueberry scone to-go, along with the chocolate chip large cannoli (excellent, cut in half to share after a dinner meal.) The croissant is extra-large, loaded with sliced almonds, flaky and a little sweet. My wife declared it the best she'd ever had. I warmed up the scone just enough to make it a perfect match to a robust coffee. Chef VV has increased the selections of flavored biscotti, has added a small round carrot cake and seasonal pie selections, and even brought back the delicious Italian donuts (Bombolone) so I look forward to going back again soon. Take away is your best bet but be aware that lines on Saturday can be long and for all three days they are open (Thu, Fri, Sat) they can sell out, so going earlier rather than later in the day is also the best option. THE EATS & SERVICE: Get in line, order at the counter from the splendid array of sweet and savory pastries in cases on two sides and from the assortment of bread on the racks straight ahead. There are some specialty loaves offered on certain days, like the rosemary and olive loaf on Saturdays. The people who work here are so friendly and helpful. I just learned that Burread has pizza dough available to buy and that will be on my list to try next time I'm in. I asked if a bear claw could be set aside for me. With it being Saturday morning, I wanted to guarantee a bear claw after I got off work. I wanted to take one home to my husband since I promised him one. I headed in around 9:30. It was chill so I probably could have just snagged one but I wanted it to be a guarantee. The gal behind the counter grabbed my bear claw. Paid for it and made me way out. On my way to the car, I couldn't help but be baffled to how light the box was. I got into my car and opened the box up. Bro, to call this pastry in this to go box a bear claw has to be a joke. A bear claw to me is big, palm size. Multiple people handling a big claw size. I was so disappointed at how tiny this bear claw was. Honestly, to have it be called bear claw is criminal work. And to have it be pushing 5 bucks is criminal work too. We ended up with: * A raspberry scone - very dry and crumbly * A cinnamon roll - equally dry and lacking moisture * A savory milk bun - you guessed it, dry as well. There was no offer to warm anything up, which would have helped at least a little. In my opinion, if a place is only open three days a week and caters to a limited window, the baked goods should be exceptionally fresh and worth the hype and trek. These felt more like yesterday's leftovers than anything made that morning. Disappointing experience overall--we won't be back. We have no issue driving to Boise for good food but this was not worth the drive. Wasted $16 plus tip for nothing good.
