When my fiance and I travel, we often try and find a bakery with gluten free options to try. This…read moreis one of our TOP favorites on our list! The prices are very reasonable and they have many options for both gluten full and gluten free. I tried the scone and he tried the banana bread. One of the yummiest scones I have ever had! The server was very sweet and the space had a good amount of seating! Parking was street parking from what I saw.

I had used their online order process several times before without any issues, so I assumed the order had been accepted and their were no questions or concerns with the order. When I arrived to pick up the cheesecakes, I was told that the order could not be completed because they require five days' notice. However, I never received an email, text message, or phone call informing me that the order could not be fulfilled. In the past, I had received messages from them with questions about an order or notification when they were unable to complete one. The situation became even more disappointing when I asked to speak with a manager. I showed her that the online ordering page was unclear about the required advance notice and suggested adding specific information for customers ordering cheesecakes. I also explained that I had not received any notification about the issue and suggested sending customers a text message when an order cannot be fulfilled. Rather than acknowledging the communication problem or apologizing for the inconvenience, the manager placed the responsibility entirely on me, stating that I should have called to confirm the order. She also said that, because they are a small team of three, they do not have time to communicate with customers by phone or text. I understand that small businesses have staffing limitations, but the lack of communication and the manager's dismissive response were unacceptable. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed, and after this experience, feel less likely to return despite their awesome pastries. (UPDATE: the following day I noticed they had updated their online order request to include "7 day notice requested for all orders". So, even though the manager/owner did not accept any accountability to to situation and acted completely unsympathetic to the outcome, she must have realized that they could do something on their side to keep this from happening again to someone else in the future).

I stumbled upon Certified Kitchen & Bakery while strolling around Hyde Park and I'm so glad I did!…read more The coffee was amazing and the bakery items were some of the most unique and delicious treats I've come across. I tried the toasted coconut latte and the birdseed rice crispy. I would order both again! Everything felt thoughtful and a little different from your typical bakery selection. Next time I'm definitely gonna try the nectarine blueberry crostata. They also have a cute little boutique area with cookbooks and other fun things to browse and shop, which makes the visit even more enjoyable. The staff were very friendly. The cafe itself is quite small, so there isn't a ton of seating, but it's absolutely perfect for grabbing a coffee and a pastry to go. Such a charming little find in Hyde Park, definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area!

More of a to-go spot. They also sell random goods like books and gift wrapping paper at the front of the store. I got the north end club (turkey avocado bacon), which was amazing and came with mustard, which I'm not used to in a club sandwich, but loved it. Wife got the pulled pork sandwich. We split half of each to try both. Sandwiches don't come with anything like chips and a drink on weekends, unfortunately. You can get a deal during the week with those included. Also tried a side of potato salad, which was great. Got a kids egg breakfast burrito, too (breakfast served all day). Just under $50 including tax and tip as of Aug 2026.

So, we snagged a chocolate glazed round, a PB&J Bismarck and a fruit filled rounds. The chocolate glazed will always be a classic that will never do you wrong. I enjoyed every bite of it. The gal behind the counter overheard me tell my husband I wanted extra chocolate on my donut so she grabbed me one with extra glaze, the best! The Pb&J Bismarck...... ugghhhh a total must try! So good! The raspberry filling and peanut butter is a win. The fruit filled donut we got was apple. That donut tasted like fall and apple pie. A great treat to start off the BER months. The front is the store is perfectly set. Windows painted Peanuts themed. You can't get more ready for a new season than this. It was nice to stop in and grab a snack with my husband. Let's start with the good: Pre pick up Communication via…read moreemail was great. I told them specifically what I wanted (with actual pictures) and she clarified it wouldn't look exactly the same but they would do their best and to look at some of what they had done in the past via Instagram. I looked at both Instagram and Facebook and loved the creativity and extra stuff that was used to bring the cake balls to life as they characters they were. I paid the extra price for three of my four dozen to be customized into octopus, fish, and a saying. The other good: the actual cake balls did taste good, so that part is something I would say they did well. The bad: After I solidified my order, the invoice and actual scheduling with my cake ball maker was not coordinated quickly which left me unsure everything was in order and would be ready in time. Thankfully it all worked out ok on that end. Next: Everything went great until pick up. My three 'specialized' dozen had a sugar-paper print out of the images I had sent and the saying I wanted. Nothing like I was expecting for sure and an 'exact print out' was never offered as an option for me to consider. I expressed my disappointed and they offered to look back at our email conversation to see where the miscommunication had happened. She emailed back to explain that they did exactly what I wanted. :( (most likely based on me asking how exact they could get). I sent her a response email where I copied all the things she had said that led me to believe they would be customized (like everything I had seen on Instagram) and mentioned she specifically told me they wouldn't be the same. Her final reply did not address any of the things she had said to me previously but included a 20% off coupon for a future order. I will not be doing a future order. I am disappointed they did not own their mistake and work to make it write. Their 'specialty customization' was not at all worth an extra $20 a dozen.
