    scone and cookie selection

Rose Hill is a delicious little bakery in Caldwell. Rose Hill Bakery focuses on quality ingredients. They have the best scones and muffins that I've tried in the Treasure Valley. I recommend looking at their website to see the variety of items you can order in advance to pick up. I love their Raspberry White Chocolate scones. Their Blueberry scones are filled with mouthwatering plump blueberries. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. The bakery smells delicious and is warm and inviting with some seating. I find it's definitely worth the drive to Caldwell to get my scone and muffin fix!!! Make sure to check their operating hours.

I order two of the mini cakes, one chocolate with chocolate frosting and one white cake with strawberry filling and white icing. These cakes were amazing! The frosting was incredible and so fresh without any strange textures that overly processed ingredients can leave. After the birthday party I put the cakes in the fridge, the next day the cakes are still moist and the frosting is delicious.

Cinnamon rolls are great and available in individual containers at Cliff's Market.

A visit to the bakery, located near downtown Caldwell, not far from Indian Creek Plaza, may have me rounding this up to 5 stars when I get there. But for now my husbands and my experience has been with Rose Hill's remarkably yummy cinnamon rolls and cherry chocolate chunk cookies which we bought at Caldwell located Cliff's Market. We were skeptical of buying pre-packaged items from a local bakery about which we knew nothing since we pay more than our fair share of attention to food everywhere in the area, but the ingredients label on the cinnamon rolls convinced us to try one and a cookie too. Both were so good that we wished two things. One that the bakery was open at that time so we could swing by to buy more (hours are limited, Thu - Sat from 8a - 2p) since we were in Caldwell at Cliff's. The other is to wish they were closer to Eagle where we live. Their web site is not as streamlined as it might be but looks as if they bake bread and pastries and make some sandwiches too. Some bakery items look as if they must be ordered at least 24 hours in advance. I imagine as a small bakery they are trying to be able to sell all they bake and financially for a start up that makes a lot of sense. We plan to make a "destination" visit soon, where starting at Rose Hill in the morning is our check off the "to do" for the day so we can shop at the bakery first. But in the interim, based on what we enjoyed from them, we can sure recommend the quality!

Let me start with the pros. The service was incredibly friendly. The food was delivered to our table still hot, which is a huge plus for me. The bacon on the loaded fries was absolutely delicious. The flavor of my prime rib dip sandwich itself was pretty good. Now for the cons. We ordered the loaded fries appetizer for $8 and were both surprised by how small the portion was. I knew the moment I saw the cup of au jus for my prime rib dip that it wasn't going to have much flavor, and I was right. It was more like basic beef broth straight from a can. Au jus is what makes a French dip so good but this just didn't cut it. My husband ordered a patty melt and after just a few bites, he had a strange look on his face. I asked him what was wrong and he said the taste and texture of the meat was unusual to him. I looked at it and took it bite myself and agreed. The only way to describe it is like the patty was made up of ground Slim Jim beef sticks or something like it. My husband didn't particularly care for it and he also felt like everything was over seasoned. When he questioned our server about what kind of meat was used in his sandwich, she couldn't explain what the difference was between his sandwich and what they use in their burgers, just that it was a different patty of some sort. Another con is that all of their salad dressings at their salad bar or in squeeze bottles. My dressing of choice is blue cheese, which doesn't squeeze well from a bottle when the chunks of cheese gets stuck in the nozzle. Not a big deal, but frustrating when you're trying to squeeze it onto your salad praying that it doesn't suddenly explode all over the place. Two sandwiches, one with a side salad substitution for fries, and a small plate of loaded fries and waters to drink was a $50 dinner. As I said at the beginning It wasn't a bad experience, it just wasn't great. For a $50 dinner it was just okay. But I would definitely give it five stars for the friendly service and the fact that the food was served hot.

The beef is pricey like all Biden-era goods&services so be prepared. You get a discount if you are an Elks member. The vegetables in the vegetarian omelette were hard and unseasoned and don:t get the hash browns crispy. But the corned beef hash fried light is excellent. Order an avocado with it; tastes great Their toast and jams are tasty or you can order a pancake with boisonberry syrup - excellent! The young lady that served us was friendly and accommodating but still learning. Ambience is from the past -1970s dining room. Prices are competitive inflated. But it's quiet and you can enjoy your company and eaves drop on everyone else, lol.

We order to go a lot and eat it at the Indian creek plaza. It works great because you get a text when your pizza is ready. Service is pretty quick. Usually 20-30 mins but lunch and dinner are busy times. I will pre order by the app or calling in. I have eaten the pizzas, salads, sandwiches and the Indian creek bread. I wish I grabbed more pics of our food. The kids tend to grab it to eat as I'm setting it out.

Wow, this pizza place is like California Pizza Kitchen on crack...tons of awesome pizza flavors,…read morefun sides and great service! Inside is homey and has a nice rustic, woodsy yet modern, edgy style. This isn't your average pizza joint...It's a special little nook of heaven. Ordered a medium cheese pizza with sausage, extremely twisted sticks, kickin' chicken (chicken marinated in a spicy ginger Thai sauce, peanuts, green onions, Swiss, Fontina, fresh cilantro, mozzarella, peanut sauce and shredded carrots) and a small baseline garden salad with ranch dressing. Baseline came out first and was a very generous size for a small. Every ingredient, the tomatoes, onions, lettuce, carrots and croutons were fresh and crafted to perfection. The ranch was a nice texture and flavor. Next came the Extreme Twisted Sticks, cheese sticks with marinara. Only downside is that the marinara was cold, but the twists were nicely baked with ooey-gooey cheese inside. Next came the pizzas. Each pizza had a nice thin-ish crust, crispy and nicely salted, with generous toppings on each slice. You can tell that the people who make these items care about what goes out to the customer. We loved our time there and even our friends from New York said that they loved this pizza...and that says a lot! We can't wait to go back.

So when I got home, I unwrapped it and took it apart to see if I rebuilt it, maybe I could actually eat it and that's when I noticed the subpar components of the sandwich. I got a turkey club, the turkey was supposed to be sliced, it was 100% shredded.. like the pieces that are left when they use all the rest of the good stuff , there was supposed to be bacon on it.. there was one piece.. the lettuce looked like it had been sitting out for hours (it's only five minutes back to my house) .. the condiments were only on one side of a sandwich... It's just crazy how bad it was considering they make it right there. Next time I'll just go to Subway, it's actually quality food that I can fit in my mouth.. and it's not $40 for two sandwiches. I won't go back here again.
