Came here this morning for donut Friday...this is a small little bakery located right in the middle…read moreof downtown Kuna, Idaho. You have to be on the look out because it's easy to miss. Inside is misleading for the fact it's totally modern inside, but dated on the outside. Came in specifically for some donuts for my wife as she has seen this advertised in Facebook for donut Fridays. Walked in what I assumed was the owner greeted me and was super friendly. Be warned if you want the whole selection get here earlier than 9:30 like I did. I grabbed what they had left and headed out. Once home cracked open the box to give them a try. These aren't your typical donuts they had more of a cake consistency vs a standard donut. Despite that they were very good and were perfect with a cup of coffee. They tasted so fresh and while I was just a sampler and my wife is the donut lover she also loved hers as well. Plus they had other baked goods on hand as well and will pretty much bake what you want them to. Great find in a town really lacking options. Plus always love supporting a small business.

The parking lot isn't very big, but the inside is really cute and homey. Service: everyone there has always been kind hearted and great at recommending things to try. Food: Their lemon muffin just blew my mind. It was so lemony and I am absolutely obsessed. I once had a savory muffin there with feta I think? And I still think about it and it's probably been a year. Overall: they seem like a lovely place great to stop in for a little bite. I have driven by this shop a million times but never got the chance to make it in. After checking out all their photos and goodies off their website, making my way in today was a must. The shop is very small and intimate. You are immediately greeted by all the goodies as soon as you walk in. Colorful macarons, the cutest cheesecakes and beautifully displayed scones and muffins. The display case is nice and bright, allowing you to be able to see the details and coloring of each macaron. The pretty piping on the cheesecake. The fun layers of the cakes. It was hard not to want one of each thing out of the case. It was our first visit for my daughter and I. As a new customer, you're trying to absorb everything about this store. You want to look at all your options! The gal that initially was going to help us pretty much just stood there and stared at us. Didn't really talk to us. Didn't ask if we had any questions. She had the most unpleasant look on her face. It honestly made me feel so unwanted and uncomfortable to be at the shop. I offered to let another customer go ahead of us so she wasn't just standing there waiting for us to order something. The second customer also needed some time. Finally a gentleman came in and she got him some coffee started. Another gal was working and she helped us. At that point, I was so turned off about getting anything but we were already there so we decided to grab a few things. My daughter and I decided to share a 6 pack of macarons. We snagged lemon, birthday cake, coffee, chocolate, creme brulee and cookies and cream as our flavor choices. She also got a red velvet cheesecake for us to share after dinner tonight. On our ride home, we broke that box of macarons open and had to try them all. The lemon was sweet and tangy, I love the lemon custard in the middle. Birthday cake reminds me of a pink frosted animal cookie. The chocolate was my favorite! Very chocolate forward and sweet. Coffee reminded me of a vanilla latte in cookie form. Cookies and cream was much like cookies and cream ice cream. More cream forward and less chocolate cookie. Creme brulee had sugar toasted on top which created a slight bitterness to the cookie but it was balanced with how sweet the cookie was. All 6 macarons were fabulous! I look forward to having the red velvet cheesecake after dinner tonight. I like that there are so many gluten free options at this bakery. I adore how petite and prettily decorated the pastries were. I appreciate that this joint is local as I love supporting local businesses. But, first impressions are so huge for me and my first impression of their customer service wasn't there for me. You can push out great products all you want but how you make someone feel during their purchase can make or break your business. As fantastic as my macarons were, all I can think about was how uncomfortable I was when I was just being stared at. Macarons and cheesecake can be purchased at a few joints in our valley. I'm happy I got to enjoy some goodies with my daughter but I'm going to go support another local business that will actually make me feel like a valued customer and not a bother.

It is a shame to see the quality of this product diminish, so quickly and thoroughly, but it has. I have brought Gastons sourdough bread as gifts, to other foodies, across this country, but today, wouldn't put my word on the product being produced. What was once a chewy, hole riddled, tasty and sour, sourdough recipe, is now, glorified white bread, except the flour being used for the past year or so, is "YELLOW", and so is the bread, baked to no attempt at a uniform degree of doneness. Sad, truly sad, whether it's poor management causing the use of substandard labor and ingredients, ownership lost it's once impeccable quality control, or ownership changed, and Gastons is now sold out to a lousy commercial bakery, such as "Franz". Not to mention, a loaf now runs almost $11. I'll pay $11 for a quality food product, but not yellow, "white bread" baked with no passion or love. Like most companies today, Gastons has failed at adjusting to today's business challenges and lost managerial control. I hope ownership returns to doling out their own Q.C. as their bakers and current management, surely have zero care about the product that is being sold. A shame for sure, and additionally, I used to downright crave the chocolate almond croissant, until it shrunk 50% in size, while increasing 60% in cost. Only poor management, and the lack of not wanting to sink one's complete time and energy into a company, would lead to ridiculous cost increases, and dramatic product deterioration. Good luck, but much like quitting buying croissants, when the product didn't match the cost, I will need to seek out a different sourdough loaf, from now on. Thanks for the few years of stupendous sourdough that I got to experience, but I'm afraid that is just another lost memory. I feel for any business owner today, as today's workers, are more interested in anything other than the tasks at hand, in front of them, and the survivability of the folks that employ them.

It never became overpowering or faded into the background or tasted artificial.The true star of the meal, however, was the lox croissant sandwich. It was absolutely stellar and one of the best savory pastries we've had in a long time.The coffee was just okay, but that was fine because the pastries completely stole the show. The staff worked quickly despite the steady stream of customers. There is a bit of seating both indoors and outdoors, although most people seemed to be taking their orders to go ,perhaps because of the weather. If you're visiting, come for the pastries.
