Time passes. Things change. Not always for the best as, alas, seems to be so for the changes here. My understanding is the original owner may have sold the business a year or so ago. If so, that may explain it. The product does not seem as good and while I once sought out the cookies at both the CoOp and Whole Foods, purchases of them in the last year have been so inconsistent for quality that I no longer invest calories to buy them for myself or my money to give them as gifts. Also I popped in here twice in the 'pandemic times' to purchase to go and although mid-ish morning in both cases there was almost nothing from which to choose. While I once would have recommended going out of one's way for Wildflour, now I'd only factor it in if it was convenient for you to do.

Blueberry sour cream loaf, so freaking amazing.

This review is based off the multiple breads and cookies I grabbed at the downtown Winco location. Hands down, Wildflour is one of the best local bakeries Boise has to offer. To begin, the selection is endless! They have breads, cakes, cookies, muffins, pies, pastries, and scones off all kinds of flavors. Blueberry, raspberry, chocolate chip, mocha toffee, gingerbread, oh my word you name it! To date, my absolute favorite sweet treats are the Chocolate Walnut cookies ($4.95 for a 6 pack) and, even better, the Blueberry Sour Cream Loaf ($7.95). The latter is sooooooo good! It tastes delicious with a strong cup'o'jo in the A.M. It's very moist, and the sour cream adds a unique, sweet flavor to the blueberries. It's almost like eating a super smooth cake. I'm always impressed by how fresh it is despite being made a day or so prior (date is printed in packaging). This bread is best when the blueberries are in season. Yes, it's worth the price! Also, you're paying for the luxury of eating local treats from a small business. It's a win-win. Head on down to Winco to grab some or visit their wonderful shop in Garden City!

Pumpkin macaron. Perfection. Thank you to the counter person for your suggestion in the flavor. It was delicious!! First visit. Quaint little place. Many pastry options. Cookies. Homemade Granola. Bagels. Scones. Coffee bar. Coconut scone in my bag for later. Can't wait to try it. (Chocolate was a little smeared from the bag) I'll be back for sure.

Nice little coffee shop/bakery with a great selection of scones and light pastries. I was hoping for some bread, but I get that the margins are small there. They serve push and pour coffee and carry almond, soy and oat milk. Had this logged as five star review, but my peach scone was under baked and a bit raw in center. It was still delicious and I ate it anyhow

Gluten free baked good. Wide variety of scones, cookies --and other miscellaneous treats. Staff was friendly. Highly recommend mixed berry scone and the coconut chocolate ganache scone was very buttery and crumbly. 5-stars

My wife ordered a birthday cake for me last week. She asked them to cover the entire cake with flowers made from frosting, no writing, no other decorations, just entirely covered with frosting flowers. Wow - it did not disappoint! I have to say that may be the best cake I've ever had in my 62 years of celebrating birthdays thank you for making a very special!

I have bought a handful of donuts, bagels and donuts from this joint and don't recall them being that size. Asked the gal who helped me if it was normal for them to be so small. She replied with "it depends on the day". So, basically some days you're getting your money's worth and some days you're getting screwed. Pretty sad. Desperate of how small they were, my husband enjoyed the two fritters I got him. I had to get two since they were so tiny. Other local joints are selling fritters the size of their two, even bigger. Granted it's double in cost but I'm more than happy to pay that much for a good size fritter. I know I'm getting a lot of bang for my buck. With so many local bakeries and food trucks that are selling donuts, the last thing you want to do is shrink your products on your locals who have been supporting your local business.

I couldn't sleep last night so of course I decided to do some research on some local bakeries in…read moreour area. I am always down for something sweet! I have driven by this shop a million times but never got the chance to make it in. After checking out all their photos and goodies off their website, making my way in today was a must. The shop is very small and intimate. You are immediately greeted by all the goodies as soon as you walk in. Colorful macarons, the cutest cheesecakes and beautifully displayed scones and muffins. The display case is nice and bright, allowing you to be able to see the details and coloring of each macaron. The pretty piping on the cheesecake. The fun layers of the cakes. It was hard not to want one of each thing out of the case. It was our first visit for my daughter and I. As a new customer, you're trying to absorb everything about this store. You want to look at all your options! The gal that initially was going to help us pretty much just stood there and stared at us. Didn't really talk to us. Didn't ask if we had any questions. She had the most unpleasant look on her face. It honestly made me feel so unwanted and uncomfortable to be at the shop. I offered to let another customer go ahead of us so she wasn't just standing there waiting for us to order something. The second customer also needed some time. Finally a gentleman came in and she got him some coffee started. Another gal was working and she helped us. At that point, I was so turned off about getting anything but we were already there so we decided to grab a few things. My daughter and I decided to share a 6 pack of macarons. We snagged lemon, birthday cake, coffee, chocolate, creme brulee and cookies and cream as our flavor choices. She also got a red velvet cheesecake for us to share after dinner tonight. On our ride home, we broke that box of macarons open and had to try them all. The lemon was sweet and tangy, I love the lemon custard in the middle. Birthday cake reminds me of a pink frosted animal cookie. The chocolate was my favorite! Very chocolate forward and sweet. Coffee reminded me of a vanilla latte in cookie form. Cookies and cream was much like cookies and cream ice cream. More cream forward and less chocolate cookie. Creme brulee had sugar toasted on top which created a slight bitterness to the cookie but it was balanced with how sweet the cookie was. All 6 macarons were fabulous! I look forward to having the red velvet cheesecake after dinner tonight. I like that there are so many gluten free options at this bakery. I adore how petite and prettily decorated the pastries were. I appreciate that this joint is local as I love supporting local businesses. But, first impressions are so huge for me and my first impression of their customer service wasn't there for me. You can push out great products all you want but how you make someone feel during their purchase can make or break your business. As fantastic as my macarons were, all I can think about was how uncomfortable I was when I was just being stared at. Macarons and cheesecake can be purchased at a few joints in our valley. I'm happy I got to enjoy some goodies with my daughter but I'm going to go support another local business that will actually make me feel like a valued customer and not a bother.
