Stopped in on this beautiful Monday to grab some goodies for my husband. Luckily I got in just in time for the last apple fritter. Also snagged a glazed twist and a glazed croissant too. The glazed twist and croissant weren't the biggest pastries. I have noticed that their goods have been getting smaller. Some of the twists were tiny so be considered a donut. But my husband did enjoy all of them. So much that I didn't get a bite of any of them. Happy that they were low on stock coming in today. It's great to see small businesses thrive. I'm sure that I'll be back soon. Hopefully the donuts won't be smaller than the ones I got today. read more

Apple fritters are good! Donuts are okay. Came here in search of the perfect apple fritter. I have a bit of an obsession. I'm looking for apple rich apple fritters that are not too glazed. with a bit of crispy on the outside. The fritters were good. A little light on the apple still. Nice balance of sweetness. Definitely fresh. Not the best fritter i've ever had but above average. Donuts were okay. Pretty standard donuts. Fresh. Decent price. Good selection of different kinds. Good option for donuts in Boise. read more

Always enjoy a donut from DK! Well priced and tasty. They have a good variety of donuts available

Amazing blueberry cake donuts. Perfect donut shop. Service good. Small lobby but functional, and the quality of the product is unhooked from reality. The best donuts I've ever had, anywhere, and I know donuts. read more

Very fresh, old style type of fare, unpretentious and hospitable. There is often large lines. Buying at least a dozen makes the prices fairly 'resonable' given inflation (caused by tariffs.) read more

Early morning fresh donuts and excellent service. We got ourselves a few bags of the donut holes ($2.25/bag) and a unicorn magic colored one. All 10/10. Of you haven't stopped by...you're missing out. Plenty of parking...plenty of inside sitting (if needed or wanted) and lots of choices on donuts and drinks. read more

Love love love this place! The maple bar is banging, - the icing is just the right amount of sweet and the donut itself has a little crunch!!! Also, I didn't know much about the buttermilk bar before DK, but now I crave them! I'm definitely more of a yeast donut person than a cake donut person, but the blueberry cake donut is also a home run. I would recommend this little shop to anyone. Not only is it really good, but it's not like the "boutique" donut shops that charge $40 a dozen. Go! read more

Full transparency, this is my go-to spot to pick up donuts for the office! Some of my colleagues have never been to DK Donuts but absolutely LOVE their donuts. Great selection, friendly service, and super convenient, highly recommend! Make sure you swing by and grab a few (or a dozen) to share with coworkers! read more

This was donut treat day and our first time trying DK. I got there just after opening for the best selection and anticipating some good cinnamon rolls, everyone's fave. There were no cinnamon rolls ... weren't even started and the baker wouldn't say when they might be available. The apple fritters were crispy and good but lacked any discernible apples. I got the end of a glazed twist that wasn't glazed. DK's doesn't merit a return visit. I'm still on a quest to find the best cinnamon roll in town. read more

This is your average donut shop. Decent offerings but zero seating inside. We came to celebrate a birthday here.

Great find. Donuts are delicious. For lack of a better term the shop looks a bit run down, but they crush their donuts. Small parking lot makes it an easy and quick stop. Went in during the Covid-19 June 2020 time. Main door is entrance only, side door is exit only. Plexi up at the counter to protect everyone. The tables have all been removed and everything is to go only. Large selection of donuts. Everything my little mind could think of. Several specialty items fritters, bear claws, bacon bar, muffins, danish. Coffee of course. Most of the "basic donuts" are about $1 each, $9.99 / dozen. The fancy ones were around $1.60. Definitely glad I found it. read more

Went in today (Valentine's Day) to grab some donuts for my coworkers. They had gone through their first batch of donuts already, so when we walked in around 10:30ish, they were just bringing out fresh donuts - still warm! Multiple of my coworkers remarked how it was the best donut they have ever had - and I couldn't agree more! Such a treat! read more

I would be reviewing the bacon maple bar had we been there earlier in the day, but alas, there wasn't much left when we stopped by one recent afternoon. Sometimes simple is best and I gotta say that my simple raised sugar doughnut was light, airy, and not greasy at all. Meanwhile Husband enjoyed a cream-filled one that I would be happy to properly describe, but I didn't get a single teeny bite. Nor a pic. His fault. Totally! Suggestion to folks who live or work nearby...support these folks please, so those of us that can only visit from out of town sporadically can come get doughnut goodness when we do! read more

Hmmm, ok, I may not popular after this lol EVERY.ONE. I KNOW....has told me to go to this place! "It's the best doughnut shop in Boise! Amazing doughnuts!" And my heffa ass LOVES me some doughnuts. I don't eat them as often as I wish I could because a bitch gotta try for the year round summer bodaaaay! Hahaha! Basically, i try to watch the sugar intake....even though i absolutely LOVE my treats. Love my cheat days but no matter how much one works out, which I do a lot, but when you reach a certain age, you realize....f**k! I can't eat this shit anymore or at least not like I used to in my teens and 20s lol. You have 2 doughnuts and it's like your muffin top expands 4 more inches hahahaha! Ok. So this place. I gave it 3 stars because I don't wanna be too mean. Maybe I went too late in the day, but homie had like 3 trays of doughnuts out....which I found....odd... because the display case had so much more room and was basically crying for more doughnuts because it was hungry for them the way I was, HA! I'm a whore for a good Blueberry jelly doughnut. I asked him if he had any. "No sorry" That's it. Then he was like....WAIT! Bear claw, blueberry jelly!" I was in there hoping for a regular sized doughnut. The bear claw doughnuts were the size of an actual bear claw! Did that stop my heffa ass tho?? Hell no hahaha! I got home and tore into it. Aaaaaand, I mean, it was good. The bear fingers were all dough (which is ok) but then I got to the palm of the beat claw, like 3 hours after I started eating it, lol....and again...dough. I was like, ok, maybe he didn't understand me too well when I was there, maybe there was a language barrier. I was wrong on that. I finally got to the blueberry. Yall don't understand how much I love blueberry jelly doughnuts lol. This was a good doughnut. That's it. Country doughnuts down on 5 mile and Overland....HANDS DOWN...best Blueberry jelly doughnuts and honestly, the best doughnuts I've had in Boise. Pastry Perfection is a close second. I'm trying to rain on anyone's parade here when it comes to DK doughnuts. If yall love them, more power to you. I just try to tell it as it is and this place....is good, but HIGHLY overrated lol. I guess people automatically assume these places are the best because it's located on the north end/in the downtown area and most places in those locations, no matter what city, I mean, no doubt are usually delicious and the best.. especially when they're mom and pop places.... Like this place is. I guess had I gotten doughnuts at the butt crack of dawn, they would've been better? I dunno. Pastry Perfection is 2 mins from my house. So I'll always go there. DK is close to my house, but not as close as Pastry Perfection. Sadly, Country Doughnuts is like 20 mins from me, 4 hrs with Boise traffic, hahaha! So when I go to my doc in Meridian, every 3 months or so, I stop there for 1 doughnut lol. Ok, I guess that's all I got. This place is good, not great and certainly NOT "Boise's best doughnuts" It's good if you're in a rush or maybe if u wanna make out of towners you know of great doughnuts and can't make it over to Country Doughnuts...HA! Doughnuts are fun regardless. So use this review if you'd like if not, I'll just shut up and let yall enjoy your doughnuts hahaha! Thanks, yelpers!!! Cheers! read more

Love DK for their delicious donuts and wonderful staff. It's a family favorite. And the bacon strip maple bar is by far my favorite!

I stopped in to this place during a long layover from the greyhound - it was the closest place I could find. As such, you could probably do worse - the donuts are decent enough, at about the same price you'll pay at the grocery store. The dough was actually decent under the icing, but there was something a bit off in the icing that made my stomach uneasy pretty quickly. All in all, I wouldn't go out of my way for these over any other place that offers fried dough rings. What I will say is DON'T LOOK IN THE BATHROOMS. They are absolutely disgusting. There's a door, and behind that door you can go MAN or WOMAN, and both choices are pretty repulsive. I posted a photo of the inside of the men's room door, and in case it wasn't clear, it is covered in greasy dirt and dark-colored splatters that also covered literally all four walls of the bathroom. The floor was also gross. Here's the thing - any owner or manager that completely ignores the basic sanitary conditions of their bathroom is probably not mindful of sanitation in the rest of their operation. The people behind the counter may be helpful and nice, but when the only bathroom in the place is simply disgusting, it speaks volumes of their commitment to customers. At the very least, the neglect is obvious behind closed doors...what happens in the kitchen that you can't see? read more

I ordered approximately a dozen assorted donuts through UberEats. They followed directions perfectly as to specific flavors and every donut tasted fresh and delicious. Best donuts in Boise, period. Not really the kind of place you'd want to sit down with friends at to eat donuts, but I normally go to Camel's Back or home to go sit and eat them. Super light and airy. I don't recommend going too late in the morning to get donuts, or else there won't be any left. That's probably my only issue with the place. 7-9 is the optimal time to get there. Other than that, I love the place. read more

DK Donuts reminds me a whole lot of the donut shop I grew up going to with my dad. I think for that reason, I extra-love this place, it brings up a nostalgic feeling of my childhood. Atmosphere: Nothing special. Not the kind of atmosphere that wins you over and leaves you "oooing and ahhhhing". For the most part, this is just one of those places that you run in, pick up what you came for and jet out. I don't think I've ever spent more than 3 minutes at a time in here. Donuts: Delish! They sell out on the weekends pretty quickly, so if you're coming for something specific it is better to get here earlier rather than later. My personal favorites are their maple bar, cinnamon twist and old fashion with pink (I think it's strawberry) frosting and sprinkles. Price: In the same way that I don't think I've ever spent more than 3 minutes at a time in here, I don't think I've ever spent more than $3 at a time here. As with most donut places, DK's prices are very cheap. A trip here could be easily funded by your spare pocket change. read more

DK Donuts - mm. donuts. - Donuts Near Me - Boise, Idaho

DK Donuts is your typical old school divey donut shop. There are typically crumbs on the tables and the dining chairs are almost inevitably askew. The windows and doors are usually a bit smudged. And, still? I'm a fan. Because? Donuts. Their buttermilk bar, while not the largest in town, is always perfectly rendered with just the right amount dense buttermilk-y fabulousness. Their chocolate cake donuts are dynamite. They have maple bacon bars on occasion for the sweet/salty fans among you. And, while, the dining room disarray may coax most out the door with their donuts boxed. Nothing brings back the college years like brushing crumbs off a table and chair with a napkin, hunkering down while wearing a bleary eyed expression and comfy sweatpants for a donut and a bottle of ice-cold chocolate milk (definitely chocolate milk and not coffee, which tastes little better than gas station joe). The last time I was there it was 10pm, and as I drove down State street with friends, someone shouted, "The open sign at DK!!! It's winking at me! Stop! Donuts! We must!!" I'm not saying it wasn't me who shouted that...but I'm also not saying it was (It's nearly Halloween...a review with an air of mystery seems apt)... Get to it! read more

They rep the California-style donut hard here. If you're into that sort of thing, and who isn't, I'd recommend these dudes (or DK's much improved Meridian outpost) over Nampa's similar Daylight Donuts. The maple bacon bar hogs all the hype, and it's totally justified, but DK's greatest achievement in donut engineering is actually their old-fashioned crueller. All their cake donuts delight me, but that crueller represents everything that makes California donuts great. Not only is it submerged in hot grease long enough for a perfectly crisped exterior to form, it's also smothered with enough saucy, butter-loaded glaze that the top few layers of the pastry get thoroughly soaked. It's special. Like a donut should be. read more

My very first apartment in Boise was two blocks from this establishment, and the smell of freshly cooked donuts would waft in my window each morning beckoning me to venture over to DK donuts. That was 12 years ago. Over the last year I have had nothing but negative after negative experiences here. The particular doughnut (the maple twist) I had grown fond of is never ready in the morning. They open at 4 AM and today at 7 AM they still didn't have all of their donuts prepared. The owners are EXTREMELY CHEAP and the lobby is DISGUSTING. Nothing is made from scratch and they sell day old donuts first thing in the morning. Mind you it's a Saturday morning and this is downtown Boise. Downtown is bustling on a Saturday morning (with the markets and eateries and you would think they would have a full selection. Nope, and this is probably the third or fourth time in the last month this is been the case. And if you've ever had any interaction with their limited English speaking staff, they could care less. So I'll be going to Guru donuts now. Last Saturday I came in to purchase a few donuts for my partner and I. Because the total was less than four dollars the rude old lady would not take my card and insisted on cash. I don't carry cash so I left. I don't care if they are a mom-and-pop shop, turn away business and you're going under. After today I will not be returning, they are cheap, not friendly at all, and it's just not worth it. Go to guru Where the selection is amazing and they treat you well. read more
