Now that it's Monday, I decided to head into Guru to grab an a fritter of the day. New week new flavor of fritter. The gentleman that helped me today was super nice! I asked him what the fruit flavor of the fritter was and I was told it's cherry again. I told him that I wanted to grab the fritter on Saturday till I found out it was cherry as well. That's when I was told it's more like flavor of the month vs. week. I'm determined to grab a fritter that my husband will like so we will just have to wait till August. We have tried fritters from every shop imaginable so I'm determined to try one from here. But today I grabbed another Hipsterberry, a seasalt chocolate glazed bar and a cereal of the day. I didn't get a chance to eat the Hipsterberry on Saturday so I will have some today! You can't go wrong with a classic chocolate bar with seasalt and a cinnamon toast crunch topped donut. All 3 donuts were killer good today! Fresh, soft and so flavorful! It's hard not to get one of every donut from this joint. They all look so good! My husband and I got to start our week off with some great treats from Guru. Looking forward to coming back and trying a different round of donuts. I might have started a new bad habit for my husband and I.

Despite this, I was able to find one that looked pretty good, so I tried the Alice in Wonderland. Most of Guru's donuts are made with potato flour instead of wheat flour, with the exception being the cake donuts. Within the potato flour group, they offer raised or vegan. The difference being the toppings -- the vegan ones have toppings that are, well, vegan. They also have a handful of gluten free donuts. My donut was pretty good, but I wish they would've offered to heat it up just for a few seconds, especially since I ate it in-house. The inside is pretty spacious with some interesting art. In addition to donuts, they offer avocado toast, two types of burritos and a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. Overall, worth checking out especially if you're undecided between trying the donuts or more traditional breakfast items.

I mentioned how I have trouble getting there on time, and the owner went completely out of her way to bring donuts to me, just out of pure kindness. Who does that anymore? The donuts themselves absolutely lived up to their reputation. They were fresh, soft, and so yummy! My favorites were the blueberry and the maple. It's rare to come across people who care this much, and it made the whole experience unforgettable. I'll be going back for sure, and I highly recommend you give them a try.

Soft-opening day had a line out the door and then some. It was NUTZ! I ordered the Cinnie bagel (cinnamon raisin), pizza bagel, and jalapeño bagel, along with regular cream cheese and blueberry honey cream cheese. Hubs is strict about his carbs, so we shared one bagel each day over the next three days. We loved them ALL! Sadly, the blueberry honey cream cheese didn't make the final cut and has been discontinued. However, they now have a sweet jalapeño cream cheese that is just as delectable! When I returned on day two, they were nearly sold out by 11:30 a.m., and the Cinnie bagels were already gone! I reordered the pizza and jalapeño bagels and tried the Brunch bagel--an egg bagel with ham and cheese. It was also delicious! The shop isn't very big, so customers may need to wait outside while the people ahead order. Don't get discouraged if you see a line forming--it's worth the wait! The shop is decorated with vintage skateboards, and each one has its own story. Ask Stanton, the owner, if you'd like to hear the stories behind them! Gathered this information on sift opening day from Stanton himself . Service on soft-opening day was excellent. On my second visit, the receipt machine wasn't working. I stood there waiting before the employee showed me the blank receipt and said, "There's nothing on there." I hadn't been told that the machine wasn't working, so I wouldn't have chosen to print one or waited for it. A quick heads-up would have prevented the confusion. Other than that small hiccup, this place is great! I'll be back as soon as our bagels run out--and will get there early so they don't run out on me. I'll continue updating this review after future visits because this definitely won't be my last!

The interior is well lighted, has a fun display of vintage skateboards, lots of contemporary white, orange and wood and glass décor. No indoor seating or a drive through, hence the name changed from the original concept to Walkover Bagels. Growing pains when first opened meant long lines, frequent out of stock early, and a decision temporarily to not slow down the ordering and delivery by bypassing toasting or spread cream cheese on the bagels. Hope that changes soon. They've done as pledged, making more bagels every day, training additional staff, etc. However, it still could use a menu board or large screen monitor as you enter, instead of a small sign right by the espresso machine at counter height. When lines form, they do hand out printed menus. Most classic bagels are $2 each, the topped specialty bagels I tried are $4.75, the pizza flavored bagel smelled just like one coming out of the oven, it was that fresh) and the ham and cheese brunch looked appetizing, along with other topped versions. The bagels are chewy, and soft inside. Limited choices on the homemade flavored cream cheese right now. The candied jalapeno version, very good, had a little more sweetness added than heat. No sandwiches at this stage, maybe on the menu later? My latte had a nice cream on the top of the espresso, a sign of fresh beans. And by the way, no line at 6:30 am when they first open!

They are only open on the weekends and I was conveniently by the shop so it was only right to stop in. Parking is towards the back and there's quite a few spots available which is nice. I adore the building they are in. I love older store fronts that have been revamped and turned into charming venues. Walking in, you notice how country shabby it is. I appreciate the esthetic here. I love me a beautiful shabby country feel. It's a smaller but intimate setting. There's drinks in a cooler for sale. Coffee beans, dried flowers and other fun gifts on display. After checking out their goods, I headed over to their display of baked goodies. My first impression of these treats was wow! They were all beautiful, delicate and delicious looking. These goodies would be perfect for a bridal shower, a wedding or just a nice tea party. Completely stunning. I wanted to start my first visit here with something classic so I ordered the chocolate chip cookie and the peanut butter cookie. I was planning on taking them to go and share them with my husband. If I did stay to enjoy my pastry, I would have tried the banana pudding. I would have wanted to have the whole experience of having it in the venue with a tea. My husband and I enjoyed the chocolate chip cookie. It was crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. I do wish there were more chocolate chips in the cookie. We felt like we ate more of the cookie without the chocolate than with. We both do look forward to trying the peanut butter cookie later. I believe this would have been a 5 star visit if the service was friendlier. I know I only ordered 2 cookies but it was "that's it?!?" that threw me off. Regardless if I came in for 1 cookie or a dozen, I believe a guest should be treated nicely. It's not the price point of the guest. It's the fact that we came in to support your local business. My 2 cookies with tip was pushing 11 bucks. 11 bucks can buy me a whole grip of Tollhouse bake your own cookies but instead I wanted to spec this place out and support you. I am charmed by this place. I do look forward to coming back. The banana pudding is something I will have to try next time if it's available. I just know coming in next time what kind of service I would be expecting and not to expect too much.

They're only open three days a week (Friday-Sunday), starting at 9:00 AM. By 10:30 AM, they were already nearly sold out. Unfortunately, everything looked dry on display, and the three items we purchased definitely were. We asked the staff member about a few options, hoping for descriptions of what they actually were since many names weren't self-explanatory. The staff member seemed put out having to give us descriptions. . We ended up with: * A raspberry scone - very dry and crumbly * A cinnamon roll - equally dry and lacking moisture * A savory milk bun - you guessed it, dry as well. There was no offer to warm anything up, which would have helped at least a little. In my opinion, if a place is only open three days a week and caters to a limited window, the baked goods should be exceptionally fresh and worth the hype and trek. These felt more like yesterday's leftovers than anything made that morning. Disappointing experience overall--we won't be back. We have no issue driving to Boise for good food but this was not worth the drive. Wasted $16 plus tip for nothing good.
