Was looking for local bakeries because I was hosting a small event after moving into our new home and found The Sweet Spot. I honestly can't say enough good things and can't wait to go back. First- they are super friendly and attentive- it's not just their baked goods that are sweet. Second, they have so much to choose from, everything was fresh and delicious and the price point is phenomenal. They also do custom cakes, whole pies and even savory foods to take home or for lunch and breakfast. The shop itself is so cute and does offer some seating inside. I am so happy we found this spot and can't wait to go back and try things we didn't get to this time. Definitely worth checking out! read more

What an adorable little bakery. The parking lot is a bit tricky since it's a one way street and parking is on the side of the building- this is the main reason I haven't frequented this bakery! The colors are like stepping into a Wes Anderson movie- it's just so bright and colorful inside. My daughter got a free macaroon cookie because it was her first visit, and the woman taking our order was cheerful and friendly. Everyone loved what they got- a variety of cookies and cupcakes! I didn't see anything that stood out as especially unique, but I will be back to try more at this local establishment! read more

Decided to try this place today for lunch. Arrived and was greeted warmly, but that was where the positives ended. This place looks really sweet, but it soon becomes apparent why it's totally empty at lunchtime. We asked to order the soup (was displayed on the large menu as well as being on a small chalkboard on the counter) which the server told us she'd need to check they were serving it. She reported back that it "wasn't quite ready yet", so I asked what the wait time would be, and she informed us it'd be ready in around 4 hours! This was a little after 12:30pm! This just seemed add and after learning that for what is described by Google as a coffee shop, they only had self serve drip coffee...we promptly left. read more

Came because I read the reviews and thought that their responses to the bad ones were outstanding. SO glad I made time to stop in. The service was excellent, the shop was adorable, the blueberry cinnamon roll is quite possibly the best I've ever had.. and I'm a definite cinnamon roll connoisseur. For the prior two years I have engaged this bakery to bake me a German Chocolate Pie for my birthday! The first year I asked for Sweet Spot to try and copy my favorite Marie Callender's German Chocolate Pie from my childhood! They did a great job! The second year I agreed to try their version of a German Chocolate pie! This time it was even better than the first-year pie! This year we invited some friends over for a birthday dinner and I was excited to share this delicious culinary discovery with some friends. Unfortunately, this pie was a huge disappointment! Typically, the German Chocolate pies that were close to Marie Callendar's pie were far superior. The key is blending the coconut and nuts into a consistent filling. By the picture below it is clearly not the case and gave the pie a horrible funky taste. I was embarrassed to serve this pie atrocity to my birthday guests! Made a very quick order (late Friday for Tuesday morning pickup) of 6 dozen sugar cookies. My order was taken pleasantly and helpful. When I went to pick them up...I missed the shop a couple times but once made it there, awhhh the delicious smell of a bakery & sugar!! The cookies were great sized as well as soft and delicious! Of course while I was there couldn't resist grabbing a few cinnamon rolls for the company staying at the house. This included a few raspberry filled, pecan & traditional iced cinnamon rolls. I've been to The Sweet Spot Bakery twice now and both were very good experiences. For the holidays this year I decided to order pies instead of making them. Got one pumpkin and one mocha caramel cream. They were delicious! The family raved over them. When picking up the pies I couldn't resist the giant cinnamon rolls. Brought one home to share with the hubby - it was fantastic. The staff was helpful and friendly despite how busy they were with pie pick-ups. Will definitely be back. I was nervous about my selections because there are only 2 of us and there was no way that we could eat all of those before they lost their moisture.... But I was wrong. Everything was super moist even days after our purchase. And the chocolate bread was already in the day old shelf for half off! I highly highly recommend this place. We ordered a pink and white cake with fresh strawberries. This is what we got. The cake was dry and had no flavor, and the buttercream frosting did not taste like it had any butter in it. There was so much of it and the color of pink and black frosting and your mouth was not pretty. I called in an order for a six inch cake and requested it be decorated with rose gold and gold. This is the bubblegum pink cake they made. The cake was for a 21 year old's birthday, not a six year old's. It did not match any of the rose gold/gold decorations and they were closing in an hour and wouldn't have had time to redo it so I didn't even bother asking. It was a complete waste of money. One picture I posted is of my birthday cake I got from here. When my mom picked it up the guy said it was the best cake they have ever made...couldn't agree less the sponge was dry and lacking any real flavored which they tried to compensate for by smothering the cake in frosting also lacking in any real flavor. (Side note I've had better for cheaper because I bake in my spare time and its 100% better than anything I've gotten here) my other two pictures are of their display case which shows a sloppy mess of "pastries" trying their ok-est to look like eclairs and cream puffs. We stopped here for the first time in Caldwell . The service was great and we got offered a coconut macaroon sample ! So good we bought more ! Plus cupcakes for home and we split a cinnamon roll which had berries in it . Too sweet for me but my husband liked it and the coffee . As someone who lives out of state I make a point of going to the Sweet Spot every time I'm in Caldwell visiting family! The staff is fabulous and welcoming! The owners (I think they're sisters) ARE ADORABLE and so sweet just like their treats! I always bring treats home from there to my friends and family (sometimes they don't make it all the way oops!). I've visited this business a few times. Each time I've gotten their traditional cinnamon roll and a cupcake or cookies which are good. The cinnamon rolls are exceptionally good. Today, I decided to get some thing out of their case which was a Napoleon. I've had some wonderful napoleons in my life and thought I would give one a try. Never again! It tasted like it had been in there for a good solid week. The whipped cream was devoid of any moisture. It was dry and stale. The chocolate filling in between was also dry and stale. I really would've appreciated them saying that these weren't very fresh. It looks like they keep things in their cold case for a long time. They should cut their losses and focus on the few things they do well. If you have a craving for a great cinnamon roll this is your place. I can't recommend anything else. read more

First, you have ample parking, which was a surprise for such a busy area of downtown Caldwell and second, well, the treats we chose were divine! We are new here to Idaho and was recommended to buy a custom cake here. For $100, we all were more than disappointed. The cake was very dry, hardly any fruit filling (a very thin layer, the size of a toothpick thickness) and it came frosted with fondant when I specifically told the gal at the bakery counter I did NOT want fondant. We threw 3/4 of the 3 layer cake in the trash. Worst investment and embarrassment for my husband's SURPRISE birthday party! Never again will I order from here. read more
