So I've driven by The Sweet Spot a countless amount of times and have never considered it, but I decided that I wanted a cute little wedding cake -- for just the groom and me -- and thought that an 8" cake would suffice. I ordered a vanilla cake with raspberry filling and chocolate buttercream frosting. It was over $50 including tax, and I was informed that it should feed approximately 16 people (if I recall correctly). I thought yeah, right, because an 8" cake sounds small to me -- like a 2-person cake. But when my hubby picked up the cake, I couldn't believe how big and weighty it was. It was tall, for one thing, and it felt about 10 lbs. I thought -- wow, I hope it's good. And then when we finally ate it, I couldn't believe how delicious it was. I think it was the best cake I've ever tasted. It just tasted really fresh and clean -- like your own grandmother or mother had baked it that morning and they had made all the ingredients themselves (they made the butter and ground the flour and got the eggs from their henhouse in the back, etc.). It really was an incredible cake. I highly recommend. I would go back and order another. read more

Was looking for local bakeries because I was hosting a small event after moving into our new home and found The Sweet Spot. I honestly can't say enough good things and can't wait to go back. First- they are super friendly and attentive- it's not just their baked goods that are sweet. Second, they have so much to choose from, everything was fresh and delicious and the price point is phenomenal. They also do custom cakes, whole pies and even savory foods to take home or for lunch and breakfast. The shop itself is so cute and does offer some seating inside. I am so happy we found this spot and can't wait to go back and try things we didn't get to this time. Definitely worth checking out! read more

Such a creative bakery! My friend had the most beautiful graduation cake I'd ever seen. I'd recommend anything they bake!

What an adorable little bakery. The parking lot is a bit tricky since it's a one way street and parking is on the side of the building- this is the main reason I haven't frequented this bakery! The colors are like stepping into a Wes Anderson movie- it's just so bright and colorful inside. My daughter got a free macaroon cookie because it was her first visit, and the woman taking our order was cheerful and friendly. Everyone loved what they got- a variety of cookies and cupcakes! I didn't see anything that stood out as especially unique, but I will be back to try more at this local establishment! read more

Red Velvet Cake made was dry AF! Like it's 2 days ahead of schedule. Not even red but brown! I get better at Albertsons across the street for way less! Very disappointed! Made a trip to Albertsons next day for a better fresher version! read more

Made a very quick order (late Friday for Tuesday morning pickup) of 6 dozen sugar cookies. My order was taken pleasantly and helpful. When I went to pick them up...I missed the shop a couple times but once made it there, awhhh the delicious smell of a bakery & sugar!! The cookies were great sized as well as soft and delicious! Of course while I was there couldn't resist grabbing a few cinnamon rolls for the company staying at the house. This included a few raspberry filled, pecan & traditional iced cinnamon rolls. The raspberry rolls were a refreshing change and snatched up as soon as they were opened hence no picture! Will definitely order from here again! read more

Came because I read the reviews and thought that their responses to the bad ones were outstanding. SO glad I made time to stop in. The service was excellent, the shop was adorable, the blueberry cinnamon roll is quite possibly the best I've ever had.. and I'm a definite cinnamon roll connoisseur. My only complaint is that I didn't buy more treats. Typically, I like my cinnamon roll warmed up. Here, I didn't need to. The dough was so moist and delicious that I enjoyed eating it cold. Well done to my new favorite bakery in town read more

Decided to try this place today for lunch. Arrived and was greeted warmly, but that was where the positives ended. This place looks really sweet, but it soon becomes apparent why it's totally empty at lunchtime. We asked to order the soup (was displayed on the large menu as well as being on a small chalkboard on the counter) which the server told us she'd need to check they were serving it. She reported back that it "wasn't quite ready yet", so I asked what the wait time would be, and she informed us it'd be ready in around 4 hours! This was a little after 12:30pm! This just seemed add and after learning that for what is described by Google as a coffee shop, they only had self serve drip coffee...we promptly left. read more

For the prior two years I have engaged this bakery to bake me a German Chocolate Pie for my birthday! The first year I asked for Sweet Spot to try and copy my favorite Marie Callender's German Chocolate Pie from my childhood! They did a great job! The second year I agreed to try their version of a German Chocolate pie! This time it was even better than the first-year pie! This year we invited some friends over for a birthday dinner and I was excited to share this delicious culinary discovery with some friends. Unfortunately, this pie was a huge disappointment! Typically, the German Chocolate pies that were close to Marie Callendar's pie were far superior. The key is blending the coconut and nuts into a consistent filling. By the picture below it is clearly not the case and gave the pie a horrible funky taste. I was embarrassed to serve this pie atrocity to my birthday guests! Maybe, Sweet Spot has a different baker than they did in 2023 & 2024? Not so Happy Birthday! read more

i've never tried their food, but their cakes and their cookies are absolutely delicious! I had a cake made and cookies for my daughters baby shower. And today I received my Halloween cake I wanted and I told them to do whatever they wanted to as long as it was bloody, and oh my gosh, they are awesome. Excellent customer service. I've been to The Sweet Spot Bakery twice now and both were very good experiences. For the holidays this year I decided to order pies instead of making them. Got one pumpkin and one mocha caramel cream. They were delicious! The family raved over them. When picking up the pies I couldn't resist the giant cinnamon rolls. Brought one home to share with the hubby - it was fantastic. The staff was helpful and friendly despite how busy they were with pie pick-ups. Will definitely be back. Maybe for lunch as their menu for that looked good also. read more

We bought an ube (a type of tropical sweet potato) cheesecake a few weeks back and it was the MOST amazing dessert! So delish! And my kids enjoyed their desserts (a crepe cake and an ensaymada) just as much! Wonderful! WIsh I had remembered to take a pic before we finished them off! read more

At around 2pm we purchased 2 brownies with M&M's on top. They looked good, but were very stale, to the point of being hard. Had they been fresh, they would have been good. As hard as they were, we suspect they were yesterdays, not fresh today. read more

Love this family-run bakery! Friendly, helpful staff and delicious goodies! Everything we purchased was amazing! We bought a cinnamon roll, a raspberry roll, cowboy Earl cookies, chocolate cupcake, coconut cupcake and a loaf of chocolate bread. I was nervous about my selections because there are only 2 of us and there was no way that we could eat all of those before they lost their moisture.... But I was wrong. Everything was super moist even days after our purchase. And the chocolate bread was already in the day old shelf for half off! I highly highly recommend this place. The only reason I didn't give 5 starts is because of the customer service. The girl helping us was nice, but not too inviting like I would think a little shop like this should be. She seemed almost afraid to talk to us. In the end, her and her partner both spoke to us, but not without prompting the conversation. Still, I 100% will be back while I am still here in Caldwell read more

I ordered 24 cupcakes for my granddaughters birthday and was disappointed with the freshness of the cake! The cake was dry and not flavorful. The frosting was good and not overly sweet. After paying $2.95 each I was expecting much better!! read more

We ordered a pink and white cake with fresh strawberries. This is what we got. The cake was dry and had no flavor, and the buttercream frosting did not taste like it had any butter in it. There was so much of it and the color of pink and black frosting and your mouth was not pretty. There was a very thin layer of jam that you might be able to see in the picture that we posted, and zero fresh strawberries. We won't be seeking out their new location. read more

I called in an order for a six inch cake and requested it be decorated with rose gold and gold. This is the bubblegum pink cake they made. The cake was for a 21 year old's birthday, not a six year old's. It did not match any of the rose gold/gold decorations and they were closing in an hour and wouldn't have had time to redo it so I didn't even bother asking. It was a complete waste of money. I had to buy a second, prettier cake somewhere else. I gave them two stars because the staff was really nice. read more

One picture I posted is of my birthday cake I got from here. When my mom picked it up the guy said it was the best cake they have ever made...couldn't agree less the sponge was dry and lacking any real flavored which they tried to compensate for by smothering the cake in frosting also lacking in any real flavor. (Side note I've had better for cheaper because I bake in my spare time and its 100% better than anything I've gotten here) my other two pictures are of their display case which shows a sloppy mess of "pastries" trying their ok-est to look like eclairs and cream puffs. Shows just how much time and effort goes into their creations and I for one am not buying it. read more

As someone who lives out of state I make a point of going to the Sweet Spot every time I'm in Caldwell visiting family! The staff is fabulous and welcoming! The owners (I think they're sisters) ARE ADORABLE and so sweet just like their treats! I always bring treats home from there to my friends and family (sometimes they don't make it all the way oops!). Hands down a must try if you're ever in the area! My absolute favorite is their lemon bars AND OMG THE CINNAMON ROLLS Cinnabon who? Keep up the great work lady's! Don't let the haters get you down!! read more

I've visited this business a few times. Each time I've gotten their traditional cinnamon roll and a cupcake or cookies which are good. The cinnamon rolls are exceptionally good. Today, I decided to get some thing out of their case which was a Napoleon. I've had some wonderful napoleons in my life and thought I would give one a try. Never again! It tasted like it had been in there for a good solid week. The whipped cream was devoid of any moisture. It was dry and stale. The chocolate filling in between was also dry and stale. I really would've appreciated them saying that these weren't very fresh. It looks like they keep things in their cold case for a long time. They should cut their losses and focus on the few things they do well. If you have a craving for a great cinnamon roll this is your place. I can't recommend anything else. read more

My son and I finally made it over to see if we could find a sweet treat to celebrate a job well done and WOW, did we ever find some goodies! First, you have ample parking, which was a surprise for such a busy area of downtown Caldwell and second, well, the treats we chose were divine! It was tough to decide but we settled on sugar cookies, a cream puff and cheesecake mousse with berry sauce. Service was friendly and we'll certainly be back for more! read more

I've purchased pastries and eaten lunch here many times. I was sad to see on my last visit that their 2 employees helping customers were not wearing masks.
