I have been playing Bunco at the Bugle for awhile. The food is fresh and home made. If I'm a bit broke, I order the loaded fries. They are inexpensive and filling and quite good. The pies are fresh baked. My favorite dessert are the chocolate chip cookies with sea salt on top. I have also been there for prime rib. The portion is generous and cooked to your taste buds. The potato and salad bar are top notch. This is a quiet place where you can enjoy a meal and a conversation. The owners are friendly. This was my first time eating at the restaurant and my husband's second time. While I can't give it five stars I won't say it was a bad experience, it just wasn't great. Let me start with the pros. The service was incredibly friendly. The food was delivered to our table still hot, which is a huge plus for me. The bacon on the loaded fries was absolutely delicious. The flavor of my prime rib dip sandwich itself was pretty good. Now for the cons. We ordered the loaded fries appetizer for $8 and were both surprised by how small the portion was. I knew the moment I saw the cup of au jus for my prime rib dip that it wasn't going to have much flavor, and I was right. It was more like basic beef broth straight from a can. Au jus is what makes a French dip so good but this just didn't cut it. My husband ordered a patty melt and after just a few bites, he had a strange look on his face. I asked him what was wrong and he said the taste and texture of the meat was unusual to him. I looked at it and took it bite myself and agreed. The only way to describe it is like the patty was made up of ground Slim Jim beef sticks or something like it. My husband didn't particularly care for it and he also felt like everything was over seasoned. When he questioned our server about what kind of meat was used in his sandwich, she couldn't explain what the difference was between his sandwich and what they use in their burgers, just that it was a different patty of some sort. Another con is that all of their salad dressings at their salad bar or in squeeze bottles. My dressing of choice is blue cheese, which doesn't squeeze well from a bottle when the chunks of cheese gets stuck in the nozzle. Not a big deal, but frustrating when you're trying to squeeze it onto your salad praying that it doesn't suddenly explode all over the place. Two sandwiches, one with a side salad substitution for fries, and a small plate of loaded fries and waters to drink was a $50 dinner. As I said at the beginning It wasn't a bad experience, it just wasn't great. For a $50 dinner it was just okay. But I would definitely give it five stars for the friendly service and the fact that the food was served hot. read more

Located in the Elks Club on North 10th Ave, this place is lightly frequented. I've had breakfast there twice and they have prime rib night twice a month on Saturday. The beef is pricey like all Biden-era goods & services so be prepared. You get a discount if you are an Elks member. The vegetables in the vegetarian omelette were hard and unseasoned and don't get the hash browns crispy. But the corned beef hash fried light is excellent. Order an avocado with it; tastes great. Their toast and jams are tasty or you can order a pancake with boisonberry syrup - excellent! The young lady that served us was friendly and accommodating but still learning. Ambience is from the past -1970s dining room. Prices are competitive inflated. But it's quiet and you can enjoy your company and eaves drop on everyone else, lol. read more

The food here is great! It gives grandma's kitchen. Everything tastes home made, not premade frozen anything. We both also got salads that were awesome but forgot to take pictures. The whole serving staff was super nice and attentive. Asked how we were and how the food was often. We even got to meet the cook! It is not the prettiest place I've ever eaten, but it's the elk's lodge, so it's not made out to be a luxurious restaurant. We didn't expect that going in. They don't serve alcohol but the bar is right around the corner in the same building, so easy access! By far, the best food I've had at a restaurant in years! Located in the Elk Lodge, it was easy to find and open to the public, as others have also mentioned. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. We always appreciate a clean environment, so thank you for that as well. We ordered the yardbird sandwich with a side of soup, mozzarella sticks, and meatloaf. Everything was abundantly flavorful and delicious! I'm sorry it was a to go order, otherwise I would have ordered a second yardbird sandwich! Went for early lunch on a Saturday with a friend. It is a bit hard to find if you don't know it's inside the Caldwell Elks Club. But it is open to the public and once you are inside there are signs directing you where to go. Very casual and was pretty quite. Service was very friendly, but had to ask a couple of times for lemon for my iced tea. For lunch I got the Thanksgiving Leftover sandwich and upgraded to onions rings. Both were excellent! And get their Shack Sauce, their housemate dipping sauce for fries. Not fry sauce, but still great! My friend had the Yardhouse sandwich with fries and she raved about her order too. We both agreed we'd definitely come back. From their social media posts it looks like they do smoked prime rib a couple of times a month. Hubby and I are already planning a date night for one of their upcoming dinners. Looks like there is a full bar, but it didn't seem open when we were there. read more

By far one of the best "smoked" prime ribs I've had in the Valley. The smoke flavor was spot on! Hats off to the person in charge of that step. Prime Rib was tender and delicious. Food was just okay. Nothing to write home about. Visited on a Saturday...late afternoon around 4 pm or so. Their apple pie had way, way too much cinnamon and was not edible. Salads and sandwiches were just "meh". Location in the Elks Lodge is a bit weird. We thought was stepped back into the 1960's. Dining area has the ambience of a meeting hall at some hold hotel and the old bar across from the restaurant looked like a ghost town. Visited Sunday around 11:30. A large group came in just before us. I will only speak for my meal. They apparently cooked my finger steaks too soon and brought them out as an appetizer due too them taking so long. They were so burnt they were not edible. the steak was so over cooked it had no flavor, other than dehydrated burnt meat. That will be the last time I give them a try. read more

If everything you eat has to be smothered in a horrendous amount of garlic, this is the place for you! I could not even eat my patty melt. There was so much garlic that I could smell it as she was setting it on the table. The waitress said if you don't like garlic, this is not the place for you. We were the second table there for lunch, and it took them seven minutes to come out.And bring us a menu. We had come in once before.Did not really care for it at all.My chicken strips were burnt, had to send them back. We did want to give them another chance.So we went in yesterday.
