I had really high hopes for Harvey's at Banbury Golf club. While they got some things right, they fell short of our expectations. A group of 10 ladies went for dinner on a Wednesday at 5pm. Reservations were made weeks in advance and confirmed the morning of. We let them know in advance a group was coming, so they could be prepared, as a group is not typical at a 19th hole at a golf course. We had heard good things about the restaurant evolving from years past and were eager to try it. Here's how it went: Upon entry, no one acknowledged us for what seemed like 10 minutes. Turns out it was a shift change. A server who was technically off the clock admitted they did not have a group table set up for us. She stayed over to get that handled. I wish we'd gotten her name, as she absolutely did make an effort. Beautiful view once seated. I'm assuming she left after that. However, no one showed up after that for about 20 minutes. That's a long time when you are hungry and thirsty. Finally, Emmie appears and states "she and Morgan will be taking care of us tonight". Initial drink order taken, after that, it was mostly downhill. Drinks came out 2 x 2, messy dripping wet margaritas with no salt on the rim came out and made a mess of the table. No coasters for any drink and no cocktail napkins. My mixed drink was done well, and HH pricing was great. Now for the food...the food...when can we order food? We're starving...it wasn't until 6:10 that we were actually able to order food, HH is now over (however they did honor HH pricing with the delay). Folks, that is over an hour to order food! Meanwhile, most drinks now empty and we're just waiting... The place was pretty busy, and it appeared there were only two servers, so I understand being short staffed, but I would expect the F & B manager to pitch in to make sure things are covered when you know in advance a large group is coming... I would also expect some explanation or apologies from service as to why everything was taking so long. Nope. Nothin'. Our table felt ignored. Food orders finally taken, so now we wait...AGAIN! It was a full 45 minutes until we had to finally ask, "can you please check on our food?" It is now 7:00, we've been there for 2 hours, with only 1 drink (some were lucky to get 2). How is this "taking care of you tonight?" It's not. We were not taken care of at all, we seemed to bring a hiccup to what maybe is regularly good service? ‍ All around, from salads, to appetizers, to the Surf n Turf special, the food actually was good. I'll bet attention is better when it's not a group. I'm curious to go back under different circumstances to give them another try, still undecided. As you can see by my receipt, we couldn't close out until 7:30pm! If you wanted 10 people to spread the word about your restaurant, you could have done better. Terrible experience dining, or trying to dine...had reservations at 11:30 am, ordered our food at 11:40 and were finally communicated with at 12:45 that our food would be up within the next 5 minutes. The overall sandwich was well prepared with marbled rye, sauerkraut, 1000 island dressing and pastrami. Good quantity of sauerkraut. The fries are great here. Lightly dipped and cooked perfectly. Had a delicious lunch at Harvey's with my husband and our friend on Saturday. Our waitress provided excellent, attentive customer service, and the food was sooo good. My husband had steak fries, our friend had a pastrami sandwich and I had a chicken sandwich. Total was under $40. Great view and comfortable booths. Very relaxing atmosphere. There's a separate bar area with a pool table. Cigars are sold and can be smoked on the patio. Looking forward to returning and using the driving range. read more

We visited Harvey's on Saturday and what a great experience! My husband had the reuben which was quite delicious (according to him) and my best friend had the salmon salad. The salmon was cooked perfectly (of course, I had to have a bite). I did not get to try the reuben because my husband "forgot" to give me a bite. I had the finger steaks and they were probably the very best I've ever had. I grew up having them at The Torch in Boise and honestly, these were even better! The meat was tender and beautifully seasoned and the batter was crispy and simply sublime. Our server was Elena and she was just great - very attentive without being intrusive. Nick, the manager, is absolutely terrific. With his culinary background and attention to detail, Harvey's is sure lucky to have him. Our favorite place for lunch on the patio! The finger steaks were always a go too, but for some reason they changed their batter. it used to be so light and crispy and now the batter is heaver and much softer. I do hope they go back to the original. The meat is still juicy and tender but batter is too heavy. Drink prices are quite reasonable. read more

This isn't a restaurant. The is a bar at a golf course that serves food - if they happen to have it. Took a group of eight and they seated us next to the bar. At a table 3 feet away were four guys into their 4th round telling each other f**k this and f**k that. There were quieter table farther back, but they never offered to move us. The music from the bar was blaring and it was hard to have a conversation at our table. Half of what we wanted to order they were out of. What food they had was mediocre. The meatloaf was a dry brick. Felt ripped off when the bill arrived. We're never coming back here. A neighborhood spot definitely worth checking out! Harvey's is located at the Banbury Golf Course. I've only visited mid afternoon, but they offer good food with a pleasant view. The lunch menu is rather limited, but the food I've tried has been delicious. I recommend the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, which you can get as a wrap, and the Coconut Shrimp. The staff is very attentive and pleasant. Harvey's offers a happy hour 2-4 Mon-Fri in a separate room just to the side of the restaurant. I keep hearing about the Prime Rib they offer every Friday. Sunda they have the most delicious prime rib that you will have anywhere. very large portions also if that's important to you. What a wonderful surprise Harvey's is! We randomly stopped in after passing the sign on Eagle Rd for months. We were greeted by a most hospitable Nick at the door who couldn't have been more welcoming. He really sat the tone for the evening. We sat in the separate bar to play chess and have some snacks and wine. Everyone was so attentive making sure we had all we needed. Gaby the bartender was on point with service, smiles, and friendliness. The restaurant isn't too fancy, but it's nice, cozy and fun. It's not a real restaurant. It's trying but it's just not there yet. When you can walk into a place and not be sure if anyone knows you're there, that's a problem. Until they can become consistent (with service, quality, atmosphere) it just isn't going to be very good sadly. read more

What a difference a manager makes. Nick Dennis has turned this place into a first class restaurant. The service is spot on. The food! Wonderful. Breakfast menu is delightful and reasonably priced. Dinner (Thursday through Saturday, I believe) is exceptional. Try the lamb shank. So good. You can't go wrong with lunch either. The sliders are the best! My wife and I had a wonderful experience with our son and grandsons at Harvey's Restaurant this past Saturday. The buffet breakfast was delicious and service incredible. Our family was welcomed at the door as we entered and selected a booth overlooking a beautiful snow laden golf course. The only disappointment is that we saw very few customers during our time there as the word must have not gotten out as to Santa's presence, the welcoming and excellent service ,and great holiday atmosphere. However, we were the beneficiaries. Our grandsons shared their Christmas wishes with Santa and pictures were taken by staff of our family with Santa. Incredibly, as I approached to pay my bill, the owner smiled, shared a "Merry Christmas" and stated to just pay for the drinks as the main meals were on the house. None of us had ever met any of the staff as we were complete strangers. Know we will be back and get the word out to our friends and neighbors as Harvey's made the holiday season even more special for all of us. read more

Never did they offer a replacement. This was the second time the wrong order was given to me. Highly over priced. The change is more than a name. They've added an excellent chef, Ryan Parrish, and a wonderful evening menu. My husband and I decided to give Harvey's a try tonight and were amazed at having such a wonderful steakhouse so close. On Friday nights they have a Prime Rib special. My husband, who isn't a fan of prime rib, ordered it and was astounded. He found out he likes exceptional prime rib, just not the inferior prime rib he's tried in the past. The au jour and horseradish sauces were homemade and delicious. I tried the New York steak with a demi-glace. The meat was trimmed to perfection to give a flavorful but not a fatty steak and the sauce was the perfect finishing touch. The current evening menu is limited at this time but the plan is to expand it over the coming months.
