Perfect donuts. 9 stars. I had the cinnamon roll croissant and I may go back in and get another one.

Our get up Saturday Morning.. go to place! Wonderful coffee…read moreand teas.. They have a yummy selection of scones, including gluten free! Fun eclectic places to sit or relax.. I also meet my local Eagle clients there.. Great vibe and not too noisy like franchise coffee shops..

Perks of Life feels like the unofficial gathering spot for Eagle senior citizens and honestly, I…read morekind of love that about it. It has a very local, community feel that's getting harder to find. The coffee itself is fine -- not terrible, not "drive across town for it" amazing either. I usually just get the unlimited refill cup and drink from one of their mugs while I work for a bit. Where this place really shines is the baked goods and breakfast food. You can smell everything being made from their little kitchen, and it feels genuinely homemade in a way most coffee shops don't anymore. Their molasses cookies are somehow available year-round and I'm not exaggerating when I say if they're sold out, my day takes a turn. The quiche Lorraine is also legitimately excellent with a buttery crust, and they usually have a surprisingly good variety of gluten-free baked goods too. One thing I oddly appreciate: no music and no giant café chaos. Also no plugs, so this isn't the place to camp for 6 hours on a laptop. But if I need a quiet spot to answer emails or get 1-1.5 hours of work done without distraction, this is actually one of my favorite places to go.

I've been here twice now, and I wish there was a location closer to Boise so I could go more often!…read more The folks at the counter were very friendly and helpful each time I've gone, I usually can't decide between different drinks to try so I have questions, and they've been kind in helping me choose. The last time I went I tried the gingerbread latte - this was hands down THE BEST gingerbread latte I've ever had! I'm so bummed it's seasonal and that they aren't closer to me so I can enjoy it more before it's gone. I did enjoy their breakfast burrito, it is a smidge expensive, but it's solid. My partner is a black coffee drinker and he likes their Fruit Snacks brew for drip, says it's one of the best black coffees he's found in a while. The ambiance is very relaxed, the swing chairs are such a unique idea (at least in my experience) and they give the shop a fun vibe. I kind of wish they were in just a little bit bigger location, the last time I went it was fairly full inside and it would be great if they had a few more spots for comfy reading chairs - I would love to grab some snacks, a couple of drinks, and spend an hour or two reading there. It's definitely a warm environment and any time I'm in the area, I plan to head back.

This little coffee shop in a strip mall near downtown Eagle is fun inside with delicious tasting…read morefood and drinks. The staff is friendly too. The only problem is the very high prices. I ordered 2 medium coffees, a muffin, pastry and breakfast burrito and it was 40 dollars. Even the barista agreed it was expensive when I nicely expressed surprise I find sometimes businesses in Eagle charge more than other places. I really liked this coffee place but the prices won't bring me back

Porterhouse - Kansas City Brisket BBQ Sandwich

The best sandwiches here are absolutely the hot sandwiches -- specifically the Southwesterner. If…read moreyou want to try their smoked tri-tip, this is the move. Every single time I order it, I tell myself, "Okay, I'll just eat half." And every single time I fail because somehow the combination of their soft toasted bun, smoky tri-tip, salsa, and just the right amount of messiness makes you question why other sandwich places even exist. What really makes this place special though is that it still feels like an actual neighborhood butcher/deli. Hayley, the owner, is often behind the counter and genuinely knows the names and faces of regulars because there are THAT many repeat customers. They're also one of the best places around for holiday meats. Pro tip: order early for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Another great tip I got from one of their butchers was to pick your order up two days before you need it instead of fighting the crowds the day before. They've already allocated your order, so it's the exact same quality -- but way less stress and waiting. And honestly? Their holiday sides deserve their own review. When the red skin mashed potatoes come out for the holidays, I genuinely wonder why anyone makes mashed potatoes from scratch anymore. And the gravy? Dangerous. I literally order extra every year and freeze it in portions because it's too good to only eat once during the holidays.

BEST; Customer service!…read moreMeat quality! Local ALWAYS...ALWAYS...rotating marinated meats, chicken in the refrigerator display. Check out the freezer section; we buy our Italian sausage, lamb, various sausage packages, oh....quart of soups made fresh daily. Great quality bacon also. Fish selection is very good too but depends on seasonal. Ham hocks for your crockpot split pea soups. We make that and others. Sandwich selection made fresh to your taste. Local bread sold on shelf just as you enter. Christmas time they offer a seasoned prime rib. Pick the size. Quite a few sold each year. It's the best we've ever had. This is where we purchase all our meat. Quality meat will make your pastas and lasagna a five star. I'm a boomer 5 star chef!! Three year customer here.

Blue Sky Bagels - Lox, cream cheese, onion, tomato, sprouts

I went to this bagel shop with high expectations. Growing up out east I guess I would consider…read moremyself kind of a bagel snob. Super nice people, really good service. It was not a good bagel, very dense bread, not fluffy on the inside and heavy. If you had bagels from out east, just know going in it is not that bagel.

Here are some initial results from the great bagel search of Southern Idaho…read more The same Lox and bagel sandwich with two extra bagels that Freedom Bagel Bakery charged $17.46 was $12.43 at Blue Sky Bagels. Same stuff at both locations, onion bagel, lox, tomato, thin sliced red onion, cream cheese and capers. This sandwich did not have the huge saltiness of Freedom Bagel bakery. The difference of nearly $5 could be used to buy almost a dozen of "day old" bagels at Blue Sky. I liked the way Blue Sky Bagel sells their bagels the next day when they make too many. This is a very common practice with bagel shops across America. One has to wonder why Freedom Bagel Bakery didn't have some bags of "day old" bagels for sale during my visit. Could Freedom actually know exactly how many bagels to make? Because if they do, thousands of bagel shops across this country would love to know the secret. Hey, who can't eat a reheated, day old bagel? The cost is better and the taste is better than supermarket bagels, even the ones made in the market's bakery, like Albertson's. America, give up your supermarket bagels and shop your local bagel maker.
