Bella Biscoteria feels like one of those hidden gems you almost don't want to tell people about because you're afraid it'll get too busy. I genuinely have no idea how they produce so many baked goods out of such a tiny space. There's really no place to sit, so I think of this more as a pick-up-and-go Italian bakery rather than a café. They also do homemade cannolis (the pistachio and chocolate are both good), although my husband still gives the edge to Tony Cannoli's at Caffè Sorrento. I heard I completely missed out on their focaccia the day I went, which apparently is a mistake I need to correct immediately. I did try the croissants though, and honestly it's hard to find a truly good croissant around here without driving all the way to Janjou Pâtisserie -- and that place absolutely ruins you for croissants forever. One other thing worth noting: check their hours before you go because they're only open Thursday-Saturday. It's also a great little spot to grab packaged cookies or treats for gifts. read more

Found this little gem while visiting my daughter in Idaho. WOW!! This place is amazing. The owners are the nicest people. We just so enjoyed chatting with them. And VV is an amazing chef. But even better are the pastries! The cannoli's, the scones, the croissants, the lemon bread, the biscottis. I could go on and on. Best pastries I have ever had. Every thing we tasted was the best! And they have Italian coffee too! I can't wait to come back to this beautiful little shop which is decorated with an Italian theme. Biscotti jars and Italian pics. CLOSED. :-( This makes me so sad to say, but Robyn and Ardian, the lovely couple who own Bella Biscotteria after taking a long winter break have decided to not reopen this delightful bakery storefront. My husband and I have been customers almost from the time of their first month of business and we have enjoyed not only their delicious baked goods but the warm hospitality extended to us as their customers. "After an incredible journey as a storefront bakery, it is bittersweet to announce that we will be closing our retail bakery. During our winter break, we reflected on what is most important to us at this stage of our lives and the answer was time. Time to travel, time to spend with family and friends, time to work on our hobbies, time to just relax. A friend stated that we were "time poor" and that statement is true. Even though we were open three days a week, we were working in the bakery on the non-open days baking biscotti, cookies, making chocolates and prepping the pastries, focaccia, cannoli and getting the bakery ready for our open days. If you want some great baked goods, this is your place. Fresh, and made with care. The owners pride themselves with their craft. We have picked up some items to bring over to friends to rave reviews, and I went in and got a bag of biscotti (which are A++) for myself. So, do yourself a little favor and come in and try it. It will be love at first bite. ***Be aware, the hours are a bit tricky. I have come several times, and it was closed. We were on a morning drive from the Treasure Valley to Cascade and decided we needed a pastry to got with our coffee. A quick Yelp and Bella Biscotteria was just a mile in front up the road. We were fortunate enough to get some of these biscotti as a gift. They were my first experience with this company and frankly first outside of family made. They had great flavor, crunch and held up well. I'm not sure about the parking, as they were given as a gift, but it's worth walking to if you had to. I do have an allergy and then I contacted them, they responded back very quickly and let me know if I was safe. This was perfect timing so I could enjoy them over the weekend. read more

The biscotti created at Bella Biscotteria is definitely the best I've tried. (And I've tried them in different states.) They have a great assortment and even seasonal flavors like egg nog. The almond croissant, danishes and hand pies are definitely a great breakfast treat and goes perfectly with morning coffee or tea. We've also tried their panna cotta and cannolis! Yum! Be sure to check them out. You can tell that they made their goods fresh right there. It's always fun to see the bakers in the window as you come through the doors. We really liked their products in the past, but have not been back after a couple of revisits. Reason 1, the owner keeps her business door locked and it is like she fears anyone entering. You just can't drop in and see what she has that day. Reason 2, she does not have much available for walk in customers. You can still order by phone or email, but don't count on much for a whim desire. Too bad. read more
