Check their insta and FB accounts for info. If you haven't discovered them yet, you're missing out! WHAT'S NEW: The Herreras retained the name and have kept many of the items beloved by customers of the original bakery but they have also expanded options, as one might expect from a pastry chef with 30'ish years experience. They have added additional cases to the interior and also expanded options for custom orders. All good for eats! PLAN TO BUY AND GO: Too small a space inside for seating and only enough outside for maybe a couple of seats, so this is a buy and take away format. ACCESSIBILITY: That I have posted 22 photos of this bakery since it opened in 2021 to now, it is evident that I am a fan of the offerings and also an avid supporter of mom-n-pop local businesses. But I am also a customer with disabilities and given the ADA will turn 36 years old this month, it is also an appropriate time to say why they seldom get my business anymore. It is all about the location's small parking lot with angled spaces and only one ADA compliant spot at the far end, near a hair salon, with often someone parking (illegally) in the striped access aisle. The only way for a wheelchair user to get up on to the walkway to get into the doors of the shops is through that access aisle and when it is blocked, so am I. For that reason, this good business has largely lost my business. Alas. CHECK HOURS BEFORE GOING: Usually open Thu - Sat from about 9A to 2P but sometimes closed if catering an out of town event so check before you go is a good idea.

After a holiday, the couple decided to retire, and the business closed in February 2025. Chef VV (Veronica Herrera) has become the new owner, taking over the name and recipes and adding several more pastries to the menu. She previously had 30+ plus years' experience as a Pastry Chef. Recently we ordered an almond croissant and a lemon blueberry scone to-go, along with the chocolate chip large cannoli (excellent, cut in half to share after a dinner meal.) The croissant is extra-large, loaded with sliced almonds, flaky and a little sweet. My wife declared it the best she'd ever had. I warmed up the scone just enough to make it a perfect match to a robust coffee. Chef VV has increased the selections of flavored biscotti, has added a small round carrot cake and seasonal pie selections, and even brought back the delicious Italian donuts (Bombolone) so I look forward to going back again soon. Prices are very reasonable for an indulgence splurge.

It has a very local, community feel that's getting harder to find. The coffee itself is fine -- not terrible, not "drive across town for it" amazing either. I usually just get the unlimited refill cup and drink from one of their mugs while I work for a bit. Where this place really shines is the baked goods and breakfast food. You can smell everything being made from their little kitchen, and it feels genuinely homemade in a way most coffee shops don't anymore. Their molasses cookies are somehow available year-round and I'm not exaggerating when I say if they're sold out, my day takes a turn. The quiche Lorraine is also legitimately excellent with a buttery crust, and they usually have a surprisingly good variety of gluten-free baked goods too. One thing I oddly appreciate: no music and no giant café chaos. Also no plugs, so this isn't the place to camp for 6 hours on a laptop. But if I need a quiet spot to answer emails or get 1-1.5 hours of work done without distraction, this is actually one of my favorite places to go.

I snagged a small iced cinnamon honey dirty chai with almond milk and a huckleberry lemonade for the husband. I believe everything we got is going to be so good! The ham and cheese croissant looked mighty tasty! It was nicely heated. You can tell it was nice and hot cause the ham and cheese was starting to slide out of the croissant. Husband smashed the whole thing and I wasn't even offered a bite. My quiche had beautiful pieces of zucchini and cheese on top. I really enjoyed the sun dried tomatoes in it. The filling was fluffy and soft. It was a great suggestion from the manager! I might have them heat it up just a hair longer next time, it could have been warmer. The huckleberry lemonade was killer!! It was tart, sweet and bubbly. I was only allowed one sip and I made sure it was big! My first round of chai did not look like normal and it didn't taste good. It was so dark and bitter. I did ask the barista if there was chai in my drink cause it didn't taste like chai. After we got it figured out, a new drink was made. My first one was not what I had ordered, I don't know what it was. My second round was almost perfect. The honey cinnamon chai was so good! It was sweet and spicy. I love the added cinnamon in there. It tastes like it should be cold and holiday season outside. I did pay for a shot of espresso to make it dirty which I never got. It was almost a cup of perfection. I really enjoyed our little coffee date here today. The food was good. Our drinks were tasty. The staff was nice. And it's conveniently down the road from us. I'm happy we stopped in today for our Sunday goodies. I look forward to another round of food and drinks from this joint.

They have a huge table that can seat multiple people which I thought was really cool. I ordered the chocolate croissant and the mocha. The croissant was chocolatey and warm. I got the dark mocha which was also very tasty! Wifey got the raspberry croissant and raspberry soy matcha. Overall, I enjoyed the pastries and the coffee. The shop was also very cozy. The sides were okay, but the portions overall felt pretty minimal given the pricing. I always want to support local restaurants, especially ones prioritizing local ingredients, so this was a letdown. Same stuff at both locations, onion bagel, lox, tomato, thin sliced red onion, cream cheese and capers. This sandwich did not have the huge saltiness of Freedom Bagel bakery. The difference of nearly $5 could be used to buy almost a dozen of "day old" bagels at Blue Sky. I liked the way Blue Sky Bagel sells their bagels the next day when they make too many. This is a very common practice with bagel shops across America. One has to wonder why Freedom Bagel Bakery didn't have some bags of "day old" bagels for sale during my visit. Could Freedom actually know exactly how many bagels to make? Because if they do, thousands of bagel shops across this country would love to know the secret. Hey, who can't eat a reheated, day old bagel? The cost is better and the taste is better than supermarket bagels, even the ones made in the market's bakery, like Albertson's. America, give up your supermarket bagels and shop your local bagel maker.
