take my bf here every year for his birthday for brunch. We love the pepperoni pizza, and always hits the spot. It has perfectly crispy little pepperoni cups and flavorful sauce. I love wood fired pizza. But, sometimes the pizza is too soggy in the middle and too burnt on the crust. Also, it could be too oily or saucy for some people, but I don't mind. We always come by when we're craving this pizza. Everything else on the brunch menu is hit or miss. I liked the French toast with fresh berries. The bucatini carbonara is good at first, but has a slight bitter taste and gets tiring to eat. We got the fried chicken and waffles, it was inedible. The fry and batter was disgusting. Something definitely went wrong, maybe the fry temp was too low. The chicken itself had no flavor, salt, or spice. Its a cute small place. love sitting near the window. I came to Source with a friend after seeing Me&You Mondays on social media, which is their 3-course dinner for $26. We split the arancini and the ricotta dip. The ricotta dip was a standout, with lots of toppings and a great texture. The arancini were a little mushy and not too flavorful. For a main I got the eggplant stack. The eggplant was excellent, but it was overpowered by the ham and the aioli. For dessert, we split a tiramisu with their milk and cookies; tiramisu was great, but the cookies were burnt on the bottom. Overall, it was OK but beware: we got the meal deal and 2 drinks each, and with the automatic 20% tip and 4% "kitchen appreciation" fee it was $66 each. First off, amazing atmosphere. We felt so welcomed by all the staff. Pizza was actually bigger than I expected which is always a plus and the crust was *chef's * . Went here for dinner with some friends and thought it was decent but nothing exceptional. We ordered drinks - I had a martini and it was well made but I didn't like the gin (they didn't have any of my go-to gins) and I thought it almost tasted minty which was off putting. We ordered the wings to start ($15 for 3??) which had a good flavor but honestly didn't have that much meat on them. We also got the Brussels sprouts ($14) which were fine but they were just too sweet - they would have benefited from a more complex flavor. I ordered the taco pizza and the flavor was great but the pizza itself was soooo floppy/soggy and the crust did not hold up the toppings at all. The outer crust was basically the best part of the pizza since it was the only part that wasn't insanely soggy. My friend's tuscan kale pizza looked better. Corn was pretty solid, a bit too zesty seasoning for my liking but nothing I couldn't scrape off with my fork. Keeping it very short and will just say the pizza is a 10/10! It's enough for 2 people to feel comfortably full. They do not offer any spicy add ons like jalapeños but our server did bring over some red pepper flakes to add on top. I usually love this place but it really dropped the ball tonight. Service was slow and mediocre at best, our server was absent and a little bit rude at times. An overall complaint I have is the inability to order french fries with burgers and sandwiches, as we were told they were only available with the steak frites. Source definitely stood out as a more superior pizza joint compared to others in the Boston area. A few more improvements on the details and they'll see us come back often. The food was very good. I tried the pork milanese with pasta. Delicious! Their tart cherry lime rickey mocktail was also very good. I was glad to see a few different mocktail options on the menu. Our server seemed a bit checked out. It by no means was slammed for service when we were there. We had to ask who our server was after we'd waited 15 mins or so with nobody coming to the table except the person who served us water who was not our server. He went to get our server to come over and take our orders. Sad to say the pizza was VERY subpar. I got pizza to go. The vibe inside was that it was a happening cool place to hang out with a friend or a small party. The pizza, disappointing. $20 for a Margherita pizza, which is reasonable, but the pizza toppings only covered 2/3 or less of each slice and it wasn't that large of a pizza. Taste was ok, but the mozzarella cheese was super thickly cut and so the different tastes didn't blend well together. Sadly would not plan to go back for more pizza in the future. read more
