Great food! I love soup and sandwiches so this is a favorite for lunch to either eat in or get it to go!

I'm leaning more towards a 3.5 but this place wasn't good enough to go into the 4 category. The staff were extremely friendly there was nothing wrong on that end. The prices were also pretty good. It's a clean place as well, bathrooms included. While you can tell the soups are homemade, they just lack flavor. The bread was also not very good. For the prices and how many people there were, it's not too bad. Just average so 3.5 stars. read more

This was an unexpected but great find! We had the turkey chili, not something I normally would order- but after sampling it, my husband and I both decided to order that. I got the largest size wedding soup but was a little disappointed I only got two meatballs. It was the best option in the area as far as we could tell. Enjoyed sitting outside even if it was in a parking lot by the highway. The staff were nice, even if a little inexperienced. read more

Everything made in house. Fresh soups daily. Combine with a sandwich or a salad and not only do you have a reasonably priced lunch it is also a healthy one. Homemade breads = delicious. Seating available inside. The grilled BL&T was exceptional. The green chili pork stew delicious. The owner is friendly, helpful and knows how to make hearty and delicious soups. No real ambiance, its just freshly made soups, salads and sandwiches and that equals a good lunch in Fairplay any day. This is my goto lunch place when traveling along Highway 285. read more

This is an amazing locally run soup and sandwich shop that is very easy to pass by if you don't know it is there. It's located in a strip mall just off Hwy 285. It's a very modest little shop with not much seating but you can get a fantastic cup of homemade soup and a homemade sandwich to go and it's well worth the stop. They make around six different soups per day and a variety of sandwiches. Every single time we've stopped we have chosen at least two of their soups because they are so delicious. This is our go to place when we're driving up to Denver. It beats stopping at a gas station and paying exorbitant prices for junk food. There's nothing like a good bowl of soup and a sandwich on a cold winters day. Give it a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

This is the third time that we've been in, in the last two months, and I wouldn't have given any one of the visits any higher than this. Unfortunately, the food is not up to the same standards as the previous on site owner. The quality of the soup is mediocre. The sandwiches were basically just a failure. The only thing I have truly enjoyed was the chicken salad sandwich, but it was served on I toasted white bread, no lettuce, tomato, just the mix which was tasty. We have tried a potato soup, a chili, a Thai carrot, and I can honestly say that they just are OK. For the price that you pay, it's very unlikely we would return. The most disappointing thing was the brie and ham brioche sandwich. Caramelized onions were cold, ham was cold and was sliced so thick with chewy bits that it pulled the whole piece of ham out of the sandwich, thus destroying the half toasted bread. I hope that the owners or at least the staff will pick up their standards a little bit and hopefully be able to survive. If something doesn't change, I doubt this place will be open in six months. read more

A lengthy line; however, the service was quick, efficient and attentive. I purchased both the potato soup and the ham/split pea soup, which were exceptionally flavorful and served at an ideal temperature. Additionally, the white bread loaf was quite delicious. The Caesar salad was fresh, although I found the dressing to be rather plain--neither distinctly good nor bad, simply lacking in flavor. read more

This place is awesome. We don't live in the area but we visit every winter and always stop by because the sandwiches and soups are delicious. So many flavors of soup and the sandwiches are made fresh to order so it may take a little liner on a busy day but it's so worthy the wait. It's cute inside, very small so not many tables but we often take it to go. Last time we were here we split a meatball sub and a cheddar broccoli soup both so tasty. This place is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Amazing hot flavorful soups, cold crunchy fresh salads, and the bread...... OMG, THE BREAD IS THE BEST. Fluffy, and just fantastic! I wish I knew their recipe for making it SO good at high altitude! What is the secret?! We absolutely love coming in and trying the different soups. Everything has always been spot on delicious. One small thing: I'm not sure if they had high chairs available for toddlers - I looked around and didn't see one, but it's possible they had them hiding somewhere! Nice find! They offer a variety of soups (changes daily) and a selection of hot sandwiches. Hubs got the cheeseburger soup and grilled cheese. The grilled cheese had a slight char but he likes that. The soup was really good. I had the chicken noodle soup, which was good. I also had the French dip. They were very generous with the meat! It tasted a little reheated and slightly bland but overall it was good. The bread was perfect....not soggy and not crunchy. The smallest soup size option was $5.25. This was a decent size (maybe 12 oz). What I noted was the positive atmosphere and the way the women behind the counter were so friendly! There were various signs around the establishment speaking of being kind and we saw this is how they run their business and treat their customers from what we observed. We saw the meatball subs and they looked really good. If we come back thorough we would definitely stop again! For dessert you really must go next door to the grocery store and check out their baked goods made in house. So good!!! read more
