I stopped in over the weekend when I had some family visiting from out of town. The ambience is great. It was a fun little bar, even though I am not drinking right now and was kid friendly for a bar. I had the veggie burger on recommendation and although it was good, it wasn't the best veggie burger ever I thought the french fry portions were really expensive for the price, I was impressed with the chicken tenders though they were huge and delicious. Even the kids meal was a healthy portion server was very nice. No complaints there, but you do order your food at the bar. You pay at the bar and you are expected to brush your own table, so there's that. read more

We are from out of town but really enjoyed this local dive. Service was on point, and the food was noticeably fresh. We had the fish and chips, bacon cheeseburger, and buffalo wings. These were honestly some of the best renditions of these dishes we've had in some time. Top it off with a cold PBR for the grownups -- chef's kiss. Park Bar is a good hole in the wall to grab a bite/drink. There aren't a ton of food options in the area--the front desk at my hotel recommended here. Their most popular item is the fish & chips. There was a limited menu for the 4th of July weekend...which I get to a certain extent. The choices were 5 or 6 sandwiches that came with chips only. That's it. No kids size portions and no fries. Bartender/order taker was rude and seemed annoyed to be at work. (Have visited on a non holiday weekend with the same shitty attitude) Food was pretty good given the limited options. I totally get tons of people over the holiday weekend. But, these tourists probably pay your salary for the year so it might be a good thing to be nice. read more

The Park Bar is a great, local hangout with cold beer, decent drinks and a very simple menu. The pretzels are solid. There is a wood burning stove that is the hot spot to sit. A few tables and maybe 20 bar stools. Pool table too. Overall this is a semi-rowdy but fun bar to have some beers and a snack. It's not amazing for dinner but the food is ok if you decide to make it your dinner stop. read more

I just had the worst experience I've ever had at a bar... and that is coming from a bartender. The old lady behind the bar was so rude the minute we walked in and then locked the door so other customers couldn't come in & then lied when a customer asked about it........ took my business next door and was treated so nice and they were so welcoming I gave 100% tip. Just a sports bar, nothing much in the way of decor or ambiance...but it gets a full 5 stars because their food (despite the grim appearance) was extremely flavorful and truly home-made and service. Everything was delicious and tasted fresh. The server was so friendly and super accommodating. She was truly helpful and kind in accommodating us and making sure we had all we needed. I felt like we were probably the only tourists in the bar and the place was quite hopping for a Saturday lunch. They also have free wifi, which I needed since I had virtually not signal in the area and I needed to make sure I downloaded the information for our overnight stay in Buena Vista. Thank you to the Park Bar for having a little meat and cheese plate at 9:00 pm when their kitchen was closed and two little city slickers were hungry. We greedily ate it up on their lovely patio overlooking the beach. I appreciate a place with options. The giant G&T I got from the lovely bartender wasn't too bad, either. Got food poisoning there because of crappy kitchen management . My wife and I were sick as dogs and had to leave Fairplay because of it . We were there for a special event and we missed it because of food poisoning . Their prices have gone up because housing has gone up because they now think they are an extension of Breckenridge . The atmosphere on the whole block drew me to the neon lights. Football being thrown in the street, friends drinking at high tables, adapting to the times we live in. Music pumping out the doors as i walk in to order a late night snack. Chicken tenders and fries. Delicious Large crispy strips with crispy French fries you wind up eating first without realizing you never stopped til you find no more in the to-go box. Black pepper in the chicken tenders is just right amount of seasoning, you almost don't want to dip them. We rolled in on a Friday night after snowmobiling all day. The bartender was the only one working the front area. She was extremely busy. We ordered burgers and it took 40 minutes to get the food. Let me tell you, here I am the next day eating here for the second time. This place is amazing compared to everything around. Give it a chance ! You won't be disappointed.
