We stopped here for lunch on the drive from Denver to Breckenridge and were so glad we did. Service was excellent and attentive. The outdoor seating was a fantastic option, and the indoor dining room looked great as well. The food was fantastic and portions were super large. I'd highly recommend the Chilaquiles and the horchata. The rice in particular was amazing. If we lived in the area, we would 100% make it a regular spot. read more

This is a really cozy, cute place with a great patio seating. The staff is very friendly and a highlight of going there. It seems really clean. Sadly, despite all that, it's the food that falls flat. Nothing was bad, per se, but everything we got was smothered in various sauces, none of which were really that good. If you're in town, and need a quick stop, this does work, but I personally wouldn't go out of my way. read more

A great little Mexican place in the heart of Fairplay. Good service good food, lovely upscale margaritas. We were there for Taco Tuesday... a and a half for a chicken taco. Best deal ever. There is a great outdoor seating area, which can accommodate a big crowd. Highly recommend recommended. read more

Food was good! Salsa was delicious. Service was great. I'll be back next time I'm in FairPlay

This food is horrible. And they don't split checks so a table of 9+ people meeting up was a huge inconvenience. I've never even heard of a reputable business doing that ever. Odd. read more

We made last second stop for a late lunch at this cool little Mexican restaurant. Loved the Mexican music playing and the wait staff was great. The food was amazing and huge portions. I had to try the combo to experience a little variety which I would highly recommend. The salsa was a huge hit, the green was our favorite. The wife had a pregnant burrito which she loved as well and the kids loved their food. If you're in the area be sure to stop by! read more

The food at casa sanchez in fairplay, colorado was horrible. The green chile didnt taste like chile. The tomatoes, onion, and jalapeno were old and smelt spoiled. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. We left our plates on the table, the cups were chipped the plates were chipped not sanitary at all. read more

Good food and great service. My husband left his hat on the table and the waiter ran out and brought it to our car.

Huge proportions, food is just OK imo. Got an Asada burrito, steak was pretty tough to chew unfortunately. GF got a bowl (!) of chicken tortilla soup, it must've been at least a quart and a half. Ended up taking a whole quart container home. The creamy green salsa they serve with the chips was unbelievably good, five stars for that. read more

Amazing. Better than any Mexican in Denver. It was a last ditch effort for us with a snow storm but turned out to be the best part of our trip. read more

On our way from Denver to Buena Vista lucked out and we stopped into this place best pork Carnitas I've ever had, service was amazing. Chips and salsa were amazing and I will make this a stop from now on when I am in Fairplay. Even got a tequila shot on the house. read more

the food and staff are great. Juat don't do the Burrito challenge, it's a scam. The burrito is more like 6 pounds and is mostly rice. hardly any actual meat inside which is a shame because the regular burrito is very tasty. we'll definitely eat there again just stick to the regular menu read more

We were in Colorado a couple of weeks ago and while there we ate at Casa Sanchez twice, once in Buena Vista and once in Leadville. We received great service at both locations. The food was delicious and comes in big portions. The second time we went my husband and I shared one meal. The queso was good and we enjoyed the atmosphere. Would definitely go again. read more

Huge menu with all the classics and some interesting specialities. The salsas served immediately were unusually delicious, and the steak nachos very satisfying. Across a few combos, everything I tried was tasty. The churros with all toppings were pretty ridiculous (in a good way) and great to share. Servings are big even for a Mexican restaurant. The pitcher of margaritas was right for 4 people. Overall a good value. read more

Perfect stop on our way through Fairplay- service was great, and the food was delicious. Will come back for sure!

Food was ok- not spectacular. Portion was decent sized. The flan was disappointing though.... See photo. I ordered take out in person. There weren't that many tables but I waited about 10 mins before someone was free to take my order. No big deal- I wasn't in a hurry. read more

The only reason to make the drive to Breckenridge from the Springs is to stop at Casa Sanchez on the way home. Last ski season, my cousin introduced me to this gem, and we've since converted several other friends. It's now a tradition: Ski all day, then reward ourselves with the best food, biggest portions, friendliest service, and most delicious margaritas on the drive back. From the outside of this converted old cabin featuring a handlebar mustache logo, you wouldn't expect a hot fireplace and the best margaritas in Colorado, but trust me, you will become a believer in no time. The chicken tortilla soup can feed a family of four easily. I recommend sharing dishes or going a la carte unless you want to take home leftovers (we always do, which suits us just fine). Don't forget to put in your coffee order before you leave, too (it's still quite a drive after a long day of skiing unless you're staying in Fairplay). Salud! read more

Their tacos are delicious. Their gold margarita's are the best we have had. The portions are huge. And the desert tequila shots were a nice touch! If you are in FairPlay or near any of their other locations, go eat here!!! read more

We were so excited to be passing by South Park where the town and buildings look just like they were from the TV show. When we saw this place we were like, "Ohhhh shaitttt, it's la Casa Bonita!" Traffic wasn't moving and one of us had to pee so this unceremonious visit didn't come with high expectation. This little restaurant was authentically Mexican, down to the waiter who spoke broken English and wore a shirt that said, "Kiss me I'm Mexican." Not sure if that line ever worked on anyone. We weren't even hungry but ordered a couple of popular dishes anyway. When the food came out, boy-o-boi were we surprised! The tacos were so flavorful without being overly seasoned. The Mexican rice was fluffy and well-cooked and the refried beans were nothing short of perfection. We especially love the ginormous carnitas dish. In fact, everything was ginormous at a reasonably cheap price. (Believe you me, this Texan know good and cheap Mexican food. LOL) Other pluses were the nice and clean bathrooms, no automatic 18%+ tip suggestion, and a nice dog-friendly patio with both covered and uncovered areas. Also, go have fun with the South Park cut out next door. read more

Delicious! First of all the portion size is enormous. The prices are more than fair. They serve two salsas with their chips which are unique and flavorful. We had great service as well. We received a "Mexican Dessert" on the house. It's a tequila shot. Lol. We can't wait to return. read more

The corn on the cob they bring out at first is amazing! Food was great and salsa and chips perfection.

Tried this place based on other reviews and so glad we did. We were staying just outside of Alma so a very short drive. The staff are very friendly. There is outdoor dining which looked nice but forgot our sweatshirts on the cooler night so ate inside. We had the pollo asado and pollo chipotle and both were delicious. The portions are huge so go on an empty stomach. read more

Lunch is more than enough for two or for two meals. I had the Burrito with shredded beef and my husband had the carnitas Burrito. Both had tender, well seasoned meat and the beans were super authentic. The server was quick and the service was super friendly! Definitely a family restaurant atmosphere. Casa Sanchez - Front Entrance - Mexican Near Me - Fairplay, Colorado

What a find when we were out on the road. Small town but a great place to eat. It's old and small but the service was fantastic, the food was the same and even though it was old, it was clean. I had the Two Option Plate with a fried Chili Relleno with shredded beef & cheese and a Chimichanga with shredded beef. The Chimichanga was very good but was filled only with beef, lots of it. A good cheese sauce covered it with some veg on top. The fried Chili Relleno was the best I've ever eaten...anywhere. It was short and fat with a not too hot chili, wonderful, shredded beef in amazing, melted cheddar cheese. The batter was crispy and light, giving it a great texture contrast with the rich cheese and beef. The bite with the crispy chili, tender shredded beef and a smooth, rich, melted cheddar cheese was simply sinful. Do yourself a favor and stop in if you are passing through. I will say though, they give big portions and I should have only had the single choice option. read more

Food was delicious and fast! Definitely recommend! The Queso Burria was some of the best I've had

Really loved the Mexican food at this establishment. It had a pretty stamdard menu but the dishes were huge and a little more spicy than the usual tex mex. Our servers were charming and made us feel very welcome. The rustic style of the restaurant was very pleasant too read more

It's been a long time since we stopped in Fairplay for anything, but thanks to sclerotic traffic, it was getting late and we were hungry. We drove through town, and saw Casa Sanchez, decided to check it out. From the outside, it's not fancy. From the inside, it's less fancy. The food, however, is something else. Portions are....generous. I had three carnitas tacos, despite being hungry, I could only eat two. I'm not exaggerating that there was more pork in ONE of those tacos, than there would be in three tacos in any of the Mexican restaurants at home. And they tasted awesome. Tender, moist pork. Beans and rice were delicious. Did I mention generous portions? My companion had carnitas burrito, it was massive, but so good she finished it. We'll definitely plan trips around returning, as the food is too good to pass up. read more

I'll be honest I wasn't expecting much from this place, didn't read any reviews... but wow all I can say is wow. I mean this is some of the best Mexican food I've ever had and the portions are gigantic! The service is amazing and my only gripe is that I don't live closer to this place!! I'm now planning ski trips so that I can go to this place because this was the best part of my trip to Breckenridge! lol if I could rate it higher I would. Amazing staff too that gave a great suggestion on what to order. Try their burritos!! Absolutely amazing. Wish I had taken photos but the food looked so good that I couldn't even wait to dig in! Will be back! read more

Wow - we were NOT expecting to have some of the best Mexican food we've had when we came here, but my dad said we had to try it. He was not lying! We had the mushroom appetizer, carnè asada burrito, a carnitas platter, the carnitas burrito, and a kids bean and cheese burrito. We also had margaritas which can come with a tajín rim. Everything was delish! Meats were tender and moist and everything was. VERY flavorful. The kids also had hot collates and my son said I had to make sure I let everyone know that they were also very tasty. Service was fast and excellent and the ambiance was perfect.
