Yikes - Ants and Wasps - We had to call Kevin twice this week. Once for those bothersome sugan ants in my kitchen, then the next day after my pup and I got stung by wasps. I called Sound Pest Solutions to take care of a bald-faced hornet nest located in the upper eave of my two-story house. I would have done so myself, but don't do ladders and flying insects. Kevin, the owner, was in Chelan at the time but sent his son to take care of the nest. His son showed up, sprayed the nest and that was that. The price was fair and they were very quick to respond. I called Sound Pest Solutions for ant control problem. Kevin gave me an appointment within 3 or 4 days, he was here on March 21st yes, right on time for our appointment. He sprayed a solution inside my kitchen, and all around the outside of my house, I live in a very nice mobile home park.,I think he was fine. with his work, but I think his prices are too high. The ants came back in 5 days to me that was a big problem. OK Kevin called me back after reading my review on Yelp. He explained again, the ants will come in and out and return to their nest carrying the ant solution, eventually they will all die. But need to give it 5 to 6 weeks ..wow I was hoping for a faster resolve to this problem but I realize that is not possible. I discovered Sound Pest through a Groupon. I was planning to have them check out some ants, but before I could do that we had a flood in our basement and found a bunch a creepy crawlies behind a rotted wall. It turns out they were moisture-seeking termites. I didn't even know such a thing existed! Kevin, the owner, came out and took care of the problem. Kevin is great - he is that mix of knowledgeable and friendly you hope for when you have services around the home and - if you're like me- don't know too much. He explained clearly what was going on, showed me the termites' "gallery", explained how the treatment would work in an easy to understand way. His prices seem very reasonable. I haven't had a lot of pest work done - I used my Groupon to cover this visit, it was less than $150 to have him check out my basement, treat, and he even came by twice! He said it would be about the same for the ants. I thought it would be much more than that! He also talked to me about the ants I originally planned to call about, and allayed my concerns that they might be doing damage during the winter. (Kevin-Sound Pest Solutions) We discussed the eradication of rodents in my crawlspace, and assessing & blocking their entry points. (He established a price.) We agreed. He then laid poison; but he was unable to find any rodent entry points into the crawlspace...Really! It's important to note that he did not alter his original price. Within 24 hr.'s I had another professional assess the project...they found seven separate entry points of the rodents into my crawlspace. Hmmmm! I used a groupon to have my home sprayed. Kevin the owner came out and not only did an excellent job he went above and beyond by spraying a fence where some ants were coming from the neighbors and my patio so as he said "I won't have any spider webs to walk into that way" He was right, to date I still haven't had spider webs. I was so impressed by his service that I had him come down to Moclips on the ocean and spray a couple of places we have down there. Friends also signed up for a spray since he was coming down and everybody is very happy with his service. We used to use one of those big chains but they were much more expensive and much more ineffective.
