My review is specifically for Daniel Garza, who recently moved to Asora from a different salon. I have no experience with anyone else or other services here, but I can tell you that Daniel is a master colorist and stylist. I have hair down to the middle of my back, and it is a "big deal" to me. Daniel is the only person I trust to take care of my locks. He gives me highlights, lowlights, balayage, and a fabulous cut everytime. I also have very curly hair that I want straight most of the time, so i alternate throughout the year with the brazilian blow out, that lasts about 60 days for me, and the full keratin straightner, that lasts about 4-6 months for me. He takes his time and does it right. Daniel has taken care of my hair for 5+ years, and I will follow him wherever he goes. Seriously consider going to see Daniel. I get compliments on my hair cut and color all the time. I can say the salon is conveniently located, has ample parking, and good natural lighting. read more

Reyna is fantastic. I had never been to the salon before and I am someone who does not like to get my hair colored so I rarely go. Reyna was friendly and kept my anxiety level down by chatting with me and giving me her undivided attention. She also colored my hair to perfection. It is exactly what I wanted. An LMT named Jane (Absolute Pro Massage) has recently joined Asora Salon adding massage therapy to the list of services offered at Asora Salon. Still in recovery after a few surgeries to repair injuries some injuries, I've tried several massage therapists in Austin and can say that her work is some of the best I've found in Austin. Jane is incredible. I only wish I had found her sooner! Before finding her, I'd thought shoulder, neck, and back pain were just a way of life following a serious car wreck. So glad I was wrong. Jane is just magic. She is an attentive and intuitive professional. She's not about watching the clock tick away until the massage is over. She is very empathetic and really wants you to start feeling better. After my first massage with her, I was not able to thank her enough. Jane's massage area at the back of the salon is warm, inviting, and cute. Always charming and delightful when welcoming you onto her table, Jane's touch can be gentle or firm, whichever you request (or need) with soothing reminders to relax and allow yourself to be nurtured. As those recovering from injuries know, some days in recovery can be better than others. I recently went in with some really bad muscle aches and painful knots in my shoulder blades and upper back. Previous to finding Jane, the last few massages I'd gotten elsewhere by other RMTs, LMTs, and even PTs, I'd come out dissatisfied or more sore and even bruised. Jane went after the same knots and I came out restored, happy, and had actual pain relief. She managed to apply firm pressure that was equally as effective as it was relaxing. If you have any sort of muscle aches or pains and are looking for a massage therapist, go see her and be healed. I've still got a long way to go in my recovery, but my quality of life has gotten better at the hands of this incredible woman! read more

I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for over 5 years by the same woman. It lasts longer than plucking and my hairs are too thin for proper waxing as you can't get the right angle. I trusted that thought the woman at Asora may not be as good as my regular girl but wouldn't be horrible. I was wrong. . .she proceed to thread a little bit and then began PLUCKING my eyebrows into thin crescents. . .I have had the most natural looking eyebrows until now and I explained that if i wanted to pluck I could have done it myself. . .she was also plucking OPPOSITE the grain on the hair!! her plucking (not threading) made my eyebrow bleed a little and broker the hairs so there were black broken eyebrow hairs . .I explained that my regular threading never requires plucking. . . . I then proceed to purchase a massage thinking "how bad could it be? Its a massage rt? It turned out to be on the fastest moving/least relaxing massages I've ever had. I wanted to like this place b/c there just aren't many places near my home on Slaughter and Mopac that have a person who threads. But I'm very sad I spent any money here and will not be returning . . read more

This salon is owned by a new person starting late 2011, she is awesome! I have been going to her when she was at another salon and followed her here. the atmosphere is very nice, comfy and artsy at the same time. my hair always looks great, even after months of hair cut growing out, that is a true sign of a great hair cut.. she trims my bangs for free, and listens to how I want my hair to look and she gives me the look every time!
