This review is very specific to bleaching and toning, but if that's what you're looking for, this is NOT the place to go. Came in a white/blond with dark brown roots, left a gross light brown/red color. They scheduled me a follow up appointment saying they could "undo" the toner with something that would not cause damage, literally half my hair has broken off since that visit, and they toned EVEN DARKER! They left me with toner for longer than I've ever been left. And the whole ordeal ended up costing over $215, looks like shit, and has ruined my hair. The owner reached out to "try something else" but 0 trust given that "second try" resulted in, I kid you not, 50% of my hair breaking. I look like I have a mullet now. Awful experience. read more

Kristen is my new hair wizard! I came in with 2 months of growth on a curly pixie. I'm not sure what to do next with my curls right now, but Kristen gave me so many ideas and tips. I wanted volume so she used a mousse and leave in and diffused to lift my hair up big, yay! At home, I bought her suggested bounce curl brush and couldn't believe my results even on my short growth. I received more curl education from her than I have in years! Spoleti offers trims in between cuts, so you don't have to pay for a new cut every month if you just need weight off. I have already switched to her suggestion for products and get more bounce and less crunch than my old stuff. They also offer rewards now, so I am just thrilled to be back with them. I've been going to Kristen for years now and she does a great job. When I got married in Fredericksburg a few years ago she fitted my extensions and wrote me the sweetest note that I saved ! She's very thoughtful. I come in every few months to get Lasio done with Kristen. I used to get regular keratin until I found out about Lasio and now I'll never go back. It's way less chemicals and it works just as good. The price is very reasonable as well. I do wish they had a better price for when you're just getting a trim as they charge you the same cost as a styled haircut but I think that's most salons. Even when I move in a few months I think I'll just drive the extra distance as I don't think I'll be able to find a comparable spot. read more

My stylist Marissa left the salon and I wanted to try another stylist since I had a great experience with her so I went with Ann. It was a TERRIBLE experience. I was hopeful it would work out as I loved Marissa's work. Ann was very rough with my hair. She pulled it hard as she washed it. She also pulled my hair while brushing it. There were knots and she just yanked it and apologized each time she yanked. She hit my head several times with the hair dryer. She poked my forehead three times with her nails as she was drying it and the last time she poked my face it left a cut. She must have apologized about fifteen times to me but kept hurting me over and over again. It was an awful experience. As I was paying, I saw her get into a chair as she was getting her hair done and that's when I realized she was in a rush to finish my hair so that she could get hers done. Very unprofessional. I would leave 1 star but I did have great experiences in the past with this salon with Marissa so decided to give 2 stars but I'm not sure if I'll ever be back after this last visit. read more

This was one of the first few times I came home to my fiancé and didn't cry about my hair!! I absolutely loved my cut and toner refresh with Michael today! I had brassy hair from a different salon and thick hair that wasn't cut in the style i had intended. I was meaning to try a different place and stumbled upon Spoleti! I looked up some of the stylists instagrams and really vibed with Michael's bob/lob speciality so I booked with him. The salon does a great job at communicating if the stylist is running late. Fortunately I didn't have to wait too long. I showed some pics of color and the cut and voila Michael worked his magic! I especially loved how he was able to take some weight off my hair and thin it out without losing its appearance of volume. Likewise I really liked that he went the extra mile and styled me with some curls (I left feeling like a million bucks)! The salon itself is really clean and openly spaced. My only one recommendation would be to have a sitting area when waiting for bleach/toner as it can get a little uncomfortable on the neck when lying in the shampoo chairs for a while. Prices were really good for the quality and the service received. If you're looking for a cut or even a toner refresh don't hesitate to schedule some time with Michael here! read more

I was lucky to get an appointment so quick, which is a plus. I have been looking for a new hair stylist for a while and this was my first time at Spoleti Salon. My appointment was scheduled for 2pm but I waited almost an hour. A text prior to the appointment said my stylist was running 15 minutes behind but unfortunately it was longer. Upon meeting Michael I discovered he was fairly new with about 11 months of experience. I was a little nervous but he was very nice and confident in his work. I took the suggestions he made and was happy with the results. The downside is it took 3 hours plus the 1 hour I waited. Full disclose: I do have a lot of hair. Poor guy! I think with more experience he'll be able to speed things up a bit. The rates were comparable to other salons. The atmosphere is similar to most salons. He did offer me wine or water. If you have plenty of time I would recommend Michael and the salon. He was thorough and did a great job. I got partial highlights and a trim. The highlights were lighter than I expected but I received a lot of compliments at work. I'll probably take me a few days to get use to it. read more

I feel like sometimes the receptionist vibes can be a little off though. For example, we came in on March 30th and the receptionist 1. Never smiled when talking to us 2. Had her airpod in the entire time 3. Mumbled and didn't really explain much as she typed away at the computer. I want to preface this by saying I really was torn writing this review because everyone was really nice. But that said, I'm really disappointed by the results of my "curly cut" and color today. I put a before and after picture below, and my gorgeous curls were a limp mess after today's visit. I think the main reason was the fact that I was stuck under a blow drying machine instead of diffused, which is how you're supposed to dry curly hair and how I told her I wanted it. But she went a different route, and therefore, my hair ended up flat and frizzy. We had plans tonight which I had to cancel because there's no way I was going to leave the house like this. I hope after I wash it myself and style it, it'll be better, but this is unfortunate, especially if you book a service with someone who's supposed to be skilled with curly hair. This is your warning: DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE 5 STAR RATING. I asked for a full head of highlights with some dimension and layered cut to take out the of the weight of my hair. I have very thick hair. Although I had some bright pieces of blonde...I also got very streaky, yellow pieces and unblended highlights with many sections missing throughout my hair (especially under, which we discussed that we would take care) and chunks missing at the root. See attached pictures 2 days after the service. I scheduled a consultation with another salon to get a second opinion. She confirmed that it wasn't a great job and had to show me all the missing sections underneath the back of my hair. (Which I naturally couldn't see well in which the stylist didn't show me) I am disappointed because I really like the stylist as a person. I thought it was 'good enough' but I wasn't the best judge in that moment.. I was completely high off chemical fumes from the highlights (which usually doesn't happen) and was high for hours afterward after the service was done. The lighting in the salon is awful too. I was unhappy with my 'layered' haircut, it did not achieve taking out the weight of my hair. I usually give my cut a few days to settle...and it was not good. I tried to discuss refund options... I could not trust them to redo my hair based on this service. After a lot of back forth, they offered me a 20% off a next service....no thanks. They were not flexible. I'm now out $200+ dollars with no where near the quality. The worst is the losing 3 and half hours of time. read more

I hate writing bad reviews but I'm so disappointed. I got my hair cut by Ann today and it was no where near what I had hoped for. First things first she was SO rough, I mean to the point I had tears in my eyes and was actively pulling away from her and she wouldn't lighten up. From being too rough washing my hair (and the water was scalding) to snagging it with the scissors to forcefully pulling my hair with the brush - it was honestly a painful experience. I'm always a little nervous to get my hair cut so I didn't want to make her mad by saying anything so I kept quiet but I guess I should have said something. I would have thought she would have noticed I was in pain though. The haircut isn't anywhere near what I asked for. She did final cuts and the blow dry with my facing away from the mirror so I didn't see my hair nor could I correct anything til she was done which I thought was odd. The salon is very no frills and felt even less so by the fact I was never even offered water during my whole time there while others were. I'm super disappointed, and for a $120 bill I expected so much more. I'm a mom and never get to treat myself to anything and I just wanted to leave feeling good and my experience was far from it and I'm embarrassed of my hair. It's one of the worst cuts I've had and not a chance I'll be back. read more
