I highly recommend Brittany Marlow, who is currently working at their location. She is a true professional who knows exactly what she's doing. I have been working with her for years, and she is really easy to get along with. She ensures that you are satisfied with the service you receive. I should also mention that is a blonde specialist. I've been dyeing my hair with her for years, and she brings your vision to life while keeping your hair healthy and preventing it from becoming damaged. One of the best things about her technique is that when your hair grows out, it almost looks like balayage instead of showing noticeable root growth. I'm always receiving compliments on it. I'm very picky about my hair, so if I'm recommending her, it's because she does exceptional work. Thank you, Brittany, for all the years of beauty and confidence thanks to your hair skills! https://www.salon-mystique.com/austin-stylists/brittany-marlow?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQPNDA5OTYyNjIzMDg1NjA5AAEeSSQyfKBK4JFLoqKNlSuKdvMQeFL8ht0V57ZfHTN7cRgQojGt3Z33jZ-HyU4_aem_3nQWyYFDIT3eRHPdVkeNRw IG: https://www.instagram.com/hairbybrittannnyy?igsh=azFjZTJxbWNwMng3 read more

don't usually leave reviews for businesses but this was such a bad experience I had to make an exception. I went in for a partial Highlight and haircut and what I left with was two short pieces in the front (not blended at all) and a random sideburn looking piece on one side of my head. My highlights were also yellow. The true disappointment came when I asked for a refund (for at least the full price of the haircut) and was offered $55 for a $90 haircut. I was told I received the discounted price refund for the haircut. I will say I was offered for it to be fixed but I was not interested in the same person that messed it up, trying to fix it. I simply wanted my money refunded. Instead I was told the stylist was "having a bad day." It is extremely disappointing to have this experience a week before my wedding and to be offered a "discounted price" refund for a horrible haircut. Unfortunately because of the way this situation was handled, I would not recommend this salon. read more

once again let down by the booking and office operations at Salon Mystique. I booked a service- received a confirmation email and text message however when I arrived on time for my appointment- I did not have one for the current date/time and it had been moved to another day without my knowledge. read more

I've gotten my eyebrows waxed here, a haircut, and a perm. The hairstylists I've met are very friendly and easy to get along with. The business is spotless and well-organized. They serve smoothies and pastries, and are delivered to your room, so while your hair is getting cut, you can get your drink/food, and it's pretty awesome. Prices aren't overly expensive, and they vary for each stylist. Products are available to buy at the front; they also sell clothes and jewelry. Very cute salon. I only had one bad experience, and that was with my haircut. It was so horrible, I buzzed it off when I got home. However, it was my fault for not speaking up. So I will take accountability. But she should've seen the pictures I gave her and followed them instead of doing her own thing. I believe her name was Sabine? Disappointing, she was pretty nice. But she gave me a very feminine haircut as a guy. Not that hard to mess up. read more

My family has been getting our hair done by Misty for years before she owned Salon Mystique, we travel to Dripping Springs just to have Misty do our hair. My customer experience was wrong pricing(consumer laws) , fraud, and abusive work culture at salon Mystic, as you see all the other 1 star reviews, the owner as I experienced caters to this criminal activity. I had to go to "honey Lauren" salon to fix the horrible color job I was charged over $1,000 for. I highly recommend not working with Misty the owner, Nina the manager & Cinci hair stylist. With my customer experience I would never recommend this business to anyone at anytime. See 1 star reviews to avoid being financially abused. & go to a much better salon. Extension removal is =$100 Root retouch Bleach cape + bleach another area= $85 (while doing cape) All over color + extra color = $90 + $25 Hair move up for extension shows =$300 ( $150 + $150 two rows only ) Extension blowout :$65 Total = $665. Somehow I was charged $1300 by the poor business. My bank fixed it. The manager , owner & stylist ran away from the issue. This is not how legal business is conducted. Customer experience 101. read more

While I was in town for my cousin's wedding, I called last minute to see if I could get an appointment for someone to style my hair. Battling Texas heat and humidity, and my overall lack of knowledge of how to properly style my hair, I was thrilled when they had one opening left. My stylist, I believe her name was Jasmine, was so kind and engaging. I showed her two pictures of what I envisioned for my wedding guest hair and she absolutely nailed it. I just wanted a fishtail braid off to the side with some loose curls on a few pieces. I got so many compliments on my hair, and it withstood all of the dancing, as well as the Texas humidity and heat. It was worth the price, and I was thrilled with the result. read more

Salon Mystique is my preferred and favorite salon in the Austin/Dripping Springs area. The decor is so elegant. There is a snack bar (with amazing cupcakes) and a gift shop when you enter. The staff is super awesome and always willing to answer any question and help out in any way that they can. I'm so glad I found my hair stylist, Holly! She is a wonderful lady and works true magic on hair. I got a cut and color from her and she transformed my look into just what I needed. I feel like a brand new woman! read more

For background reference, I'm highly allergic to hair color. For years I've been using henna to color my hair because it was the only way to cover grays without a steroid shot. Henna is beautiful and it leaves my hair shiny and smooth. I do love it, but the down sides are that it's super permanent, it takes virtually all day long to process, you can only go darker, and doing roots is always a crapshoot to match your last full color. To go lighter, get highlights, or play with colors was out of the question. When I told a salon that I was allergic and had hennaed my hair, they wouldn't touch me due to liability of unpredictable permanent results. In short, they didn't understand henna and were afraid I'd sue them if I had an allergic reaction or if they ruined my hair. All I really wanted though was someone who didn't treat me like I was a monster and would just talk to me about options. Then I found Salon Mystic in Dripping Springs. They weren't 'fraid of me! I went in about 6 months ago wanting a balayage. At first, I was told I'd never be able to do that to my hair because I had henna and that I'd have to grow all my henna out before I could highlight or color even with PPD-free color... But there was some speculation about options. After THREE separate consultations with different highly-experienced hair technicians, they each consulted together to find a solution. I felt more like an exciting new challenge than an invalid. They introduced me to the owner of the salon, Misty, who knew what to do. She had experience with allergies and had a special product line exclusively designed to make monsters like me look like normal folk. We did a test run the first time trying to color some grays but my allergy reared it's head again and I ended up in the clinic two days later getting steroids. But, Misty didn't waver! She contacted her product rep and found another solution. I went back in to do a patch test this time and waited two weeks. No reaction! We found a winner! Misty took 4 hours being ultra careful with me, using practicaly a box of cotton to make sure none of the color touched my scalp. She was able to give me the sun-kissed highlights I'd always longed for without the ER visit I left there nearly in tears! I gave Misty a huge hug for making me feel like a Queen Thank you Salon Mystic for taking care with me and making me feel special and not crazy. You guys were incredible!!! read more

I was long overdue for a haircut and color when I came in for my "makeover" at Salon Mystique on Hargraves Drive. My stylist, ELIA, did an amazing transformation not only on my cut but with my color -highlights and lowlights. She made sure I was satisfied with both the color and the beautiful "hairstyle" she gave me. The Salon has a beautiful atmosphere as well. I cannot praise Elia enough for her expertise and the timeliness of securing my appointment. I highly recommend Elia and Salon Mystique. Deb read more

1.) This salon is not in Austin proper. It is a $40 UBER ride (45 minutes south of Austin). 2.) I booked with the blow-out bar, just to discover all 3 of us were with different private stylists in their own rooms with their own prices. 3.) The cafe was closed and they couldn't even sell me water. 4.) It took me over 30 minutes to find a ride back to Austin. No one from UBER would pick me up, so I had to download LYFT to find a ride back to my hotel. What a disaster! read more

I soooo wanted to love this salon. It really is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. I was on a day trip and decided to refresh my color. (HUGE mistake) The salon looked very professional so I gave them a try. I was assigned to Allie. She is very friendly but maybe not as up to date on color as she should be. She applied an all over high lift color to my blonde hair. When she rinsed the color out ,my hair was orange!!! She said "don't judge it until it's dry." I was in disbelief. She then applied a toner. My roots are bright yellow and the rest of my hair is a weird mix of purple, grey and white. I was so disappointed. To add insult to injury my total was $200!!!!!!! What the heck??? I should have refused to pay the outrageous price but I was so mortified I just ran my card and left. Allie did offer to redo my hair in the upcoming weeks but I live over an hour away from Salon Mystique, so I can't just hop back in to have this mess fixed. I was refused a refund of any kind. I am so sad I really wanted to love this salon. I learned a very expensive $200 lesson. read more

Lisa Gilliam at Salon Mystique is amazing. She is experienced and very skilled at cutting and styling hair. I highly recommend her!

My stylist did a poor job doing a simple partial highlight and when I went in for additional color she had such a bad and defensive attitude. Carina was more focused on being right and proving her point than client satisfaction. shouldn't client satisfaction be the #1 priority ? lol. complete waste of 250$. no change in my hair color and little change in cut. It actually looks worse because of the way she barely applied bleach in some areas and not in others. do not waste your time or money. first time in 10 years I've ever left unsatisfied with a simple highlight request. read more

This review is more for Heather Barclay than the salon itself, though I was very impressed with the location. It's a little bit of a drive for me, but I went out of the way because I was able to get in to see Heather on a Sunday. Hooray! The salon is beautifully finished. I was surprised by all the treatments/services they offer. I had no idea! There's also a cafe, though it was closed when I visited. There weren't many other staff in the building on a Sunday, but Fritz was super friendly and welcoming. Heather is FANTASTIC. It was my first time seeing her, and she was a dream. She was friendly, super knowledgeable, and there was none of that awkward silence you sometimes get with a new stylist. She made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in the door. And this girl is PATIENT! My head was quite a mess from a previous color/cut situation (and me showing up without properly prepping my hair!), and Heather spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to best fix things and walked me through every step. She is a curly girl guru, and it shows! I'm so happy with my new cut and color! I'm so glad I took a chance on Heather and found my new person! read more

I just saw Leena for a root touch up and cut. The color matches my very dark, almost black hair and the cut is cute (a bit shorter than I had expected, but still nice). However, she wasn't very friendly or talkative and seemed to be not feeling well. We all have our off days, but I so rarely get my hair done I was hoping for more of a spa salon time there. My biggest complaint is how completely soaked my shirt and pants were from the sink experience. I was literally soaking wet when we were done. That was not cool since I had to be somewhere shortly after my appt. She did try to blow dry it. I might come back but maybe will try out another stylist? read more

Salon Mystique is a number of independent contractors in one space, which is located in a shopping center near the Belterra subdivision in southwest Austin. It has a nice finish and it is beautifully decorated. However, the best part is the service from Karly Hendricks and her suite, known as La Care Skin. She is a master esthetician. Karly recently moved to this new location. Her specialties are micro-dermabrasion, dermaplaining, brow and lip waxing, lash and brown tinting, and other special services as requested. She also specializes in Age defying facials for women, men and teens. She will make you feel (and look) like a million bucks! Her touch is smooth, gentle but firm touch is marvelous. I keep coming back to her once a month. Call her at 512-913-7222. I can't say enough about her. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would I asked for the best and they gave me a guy named Fitz.. I showed him what I wanted.. Did a consultation Came back to do the work and left the most unhappy I had ever left a salon in my life. I was mortified of what was on my head. Nothing what I asked for.. In fact when the color had been applied he said "now I need to look up how to wash it out becuase I've never done a color with the dark on top" You are joking.. Right? It says over 20 years of experience..in what..? Lying? If you could not do the work..why not pass me along to someone that could. After over 400$ in hair..I left beyond distraught I asked for my money back..and was told by him that he doesnt do refunds? That he would try and fix it? Um NO You wont touch my hair..and if you are smart you would let him anywhere near yours either. I have seen people in cosmetology school do better jobs than this man. You see the pictures. Wow. This was a bit of a drive south for me, about 40min, but when I arrived- totally worth it!! They have a great storefront presentation, and on the inside was a little cafe to the side! They had hair services but also extentions and henna art- I loved the diversity! There was art everywhere for purchase and the music wasn't super loud or obnoxious. Which means this place is very approachable with out feeling like I had to have credentials from Hollywood to partake of their services! Loved it. Curly hair people- go to Mandy P.! She came reccomended from a friend, and I after our appt I believe I found my new stylist! She is grounded, and our conversation was very pleasant- not about gossip or abrasive things. I enjoyed getting to talk without having to play the role of a therapist! Her salon spot played very welcoming music as well. And her knowledge was great- she really talked to me about my wishes in my style and curly hair, noted the amount that would be needed to trim off, suggested a different buzz style than what I had going on and I loved all of it!! And instead of blowdrying my hair straight like so many stylists do, she helped being out soooo much of my natural curl!! I felt like she brought out my true beauty and I honestly didn't want to wash my hair for weeks. I mean, I did, cuz I needed to. She recommended products but wasn't pushy about it either. It was very much like meeting a new friend, and it was such a pleasant and informative experience. I can't wait to go back again! read more

Really excited to get my hair cut and colored by Sarah Bandy at @bluegardenia.atx at @salonmystique.belterra. I'm attentive to what I put in and on my body, but hadn't really thought of my hair products the same way until now. And I was truly surprised that she was able to achieve the same great color as traditional products. I highly recommend her for an awesome hair update and experience! Plus she plays beautiful Billie Holiday swing era music in her salon which further goes to show she has great taste. #organichaircare #organichaircolor #organichairsalon read more
