Bridal hair was a disaster. I had a trial with Holly (who has since left the salon) and it went fabulously. I was in and out in 57 minutes (which I timed to be able to add to my wedding day schedule) and I loved the hairstyle. Heather was assigned to do my hair on my actual wedding day, which I thought would be fine since she's the owner and likely more skilled than Holly was. I was at the salon for almost 2 hours and left with a frizzy and phallic (noted by two separate bridesmaids) hairstyle that had to be totally redone by one of my bridesmaids. Heather chose to use a straightener to create my curls which resulted in having to recurl my hair several times a throughout the wedding night to keep my hair from looking like limp noodles. Heather also left several times during my hair appointment, once to fix a prom hairstyle for another client who had been in earlier and a second time to take a 15 minute phone call for a "client with a problem". I'd love to know what hair problem was more urgent than a bride sitting in a chair with a frizzy head of hair after 90 minutes who needed to be leaving for the venue 30 minutes ago. Finally, after the same failed braid (that was gorgeous in my hair trial) was attempted numerous times in a row, Heater ad libbed another hairstyle that resulted in the phallic frizzy mess references above. When I noted the frizz around my face, Heather proceeded to tell me all that she had done to smooth it and that there was nothing she could do. Unfortunately her excuses didn't smooth my hair, and I realized my hair was a lost cause at this salon. I have hypoglycemia secondary to a genetic condition and was starting to get tremors and just needed to leave to eat the lunch I was supposed to eat at the venue now 60 minutes ago. I said it was fine, paid, and got the heck out of there as quickly as possible. One of my bridesmaids turned my hair into a gorgeous style that brought me to tears with no frizzies in 25 minutes flat. My mother, who was understandably upset that the hair fiasco had been the only stressful and anxious part of her daughter's wedding day, called Heather to request a refund and let her know how bad the experience had been. She didn't answer so a voice mail was left. Hours later, Heather found it appropriate to email me and call my mom during the wedding (literally at the minute vows were being exchanged) to discuss the mess. Heather promised us a refund, and since I paid in cash, that meant a check (Heather asked us to not come to her salon to collect the refund lest the other customers learn the truth about this place). Needless to say, many weeks and false promises later, no check was ever sent. Disappointed but not surprised. Brides, go elsewhere. read more
