Blake is my guy! Been cutting my hair and giggling with the galls for 10+ years! Never disappoints. Great atmosphere, fun personalities all around and it's in the Lakeway/bee cave bubble! read more

If you want a great haircut go see Blake. He gave me such a cute current razor cut! I love my hair again for the first time in a long time! He is both talented and so easy to talk to. read more

Walked into the salon to make an appointment based on the reviews. Blake was at the counter, and we immediately clicked. My cut needed fixed after a botch job at a reputable Lakeway salon, then an attempt by someone else to fix it. He did a great cut, base color, shaved the sides and brought up my highlights. Perfect! I enjoyed the relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and Blake was a blast to talk to. I'm happy to have a new spot! Love this place and HIGHLY recommend. read more

I had pretty high anxiety for my appointment today after some not so great hair experiences a few years ago. I had not been for a professional cut in about 3 years and had been performing my own hair chop shop at home. I was super nervous that I was going to be told I "needed" to cut 6" and be shamed for letting my hair get to where it is but instead I had the complete opposite experience. Not only was Blake super understanding of my anxiety, he also assured me that my hair was actually not in the dire condition I thought it was and I was able to walk out with only about 2" taken off. I am BEYOND grateful to not have been coerced into making a giant cut or have additional services piled on. I have learned to love my natural hair (color especially) and I'm grateful to have found a stylist who doesn't try to convince me to change it read more

Being new-ish to Lakeway I tried on a few salons before landing at Strandz. I appreciate that Blake pays a lot of attention to detail and consistently delivers on the cut and color I have in mind...My friend even asked me for the color formula! I also appreciate the way he just handled an appointment conflict due to a family emergency and the consistency with good communication. The salon has a fun vibe and I'm so grateful to have found my hair person! read more

I am so happy I found this salon. Friendly, experienced team and a quiet location. My hair got the VIP treatment from Georgia. Thanks!

Georgia! Amazing! First visit and I have extremely damaged fine hair. She was completely honest with me and felt my hair needed a break from hot tools and time to grow back in. She ended up cutting just a bit on the sides and then styled my hair at NO CHARGE! She explained to me what I needed to do in order for my hair to grow back in, she showed me how to style it and products to use. Can't wait to come back for my trim in six weeks. She made my hair look so much better and now I feel better. So happy to have found my new stylist! Can't recommend enough!! Great salon, great service and awesome atmosphere!!! read more

Great Beauty Shop Georgia, the owner, is wonderful. She has done my highlights and cut my hair for over 3 years. I was 90 years old in December and have to use walker. Georgia helps me in and out of the shop. I feel like she is family. She takes care of me. And my hair looks GOOD! read more

Just moved here and very hesitant about finding someone to cut my hair- it's a basic trim and long layers- nothing fancy or fun. I've had issues in the past with stylists trying to convince me to do something trendy/edgy fun etc and also pushing color/highlights etc. I had an appointment with the owner and was so pleased. She's very nice and did exactly what I asked- no upselling or trying to convince me something else would look good. My hair looked great!! Very happy to have found a go-to salon down here :) read more

I've been a client at Strandz for four years. Georgia, the owner, has always been dependable and done a fantastic job with both color and cut. Check out this salon, you won't regret it. read more

Unprofessional, gossip, loud, no attention to customers I was new to the Lakeway area and went Strandz Salon because it was near by job. My appointment was with Blake; I came in for a haircut, my hair is long and very fine, but thick. He seemed knowledgeable enough and the haircut was good, but he pulled and yanked on my hair until I had a headache when I left. He was very rough and didn't seem to be interested in me or my haircut. While sitting in my chair, another lady was finishing up and left the salon. Before she even reached the parking lot, her stylist began talking about her and some of the issues that she had with the customer. Blake and the other stylist contributed to the conversation which made me feel real uncomfortable. I felt bad for the customer and wondered what they would say about me when I left. In my opinion, the stylist was being very unprofessional - if I knew who that customer was, I would have told her about the conversation. read more

I visited Blake. I was looking for ideas for a new, easy, no-hassle hairstyle. I got a blank stare - nothing offered. I got a very good haircut but that's it. He put a product in my hair but no comments on what he used was or how to style it. He is good at conversation. I asked how he got into hair styling and he spent the next 15 minutes talking about/convincing me how he wasn't gay. He is or isn't, I don't care. I didn't appreciate him rambling on about his sexuality. read more

I have been going to Blake for 3 years and he helped me bring life back to my hair. My hair looks natural and refined. He has an artistic talent. The customer service is excellent and the environment is relaxing. read more

Georgia is absolutely amazing and has done my hair for about three years now. Strandz is an awesome salon

I am from California and I had a fabulous hairdresser. When I moved to Austin, TX I found Georgia at Strands Salon. She is outstanding with color, highlights and cut. The salon is clean and friendly. My blow-out can last for several days. My color is glossy and last through many shampoos. Her clients, and I have met many of them, are super happy, traveling from far away. Georgia is also very accommodating with appointments. I wouldn't go anywhere else!!! read more

These gals were amazing! I came here on my big day. Karla was my hairdresser! Not only did she make my hair look fabulous, but she came to my aid when I was going to pass out ( not eating & drink) & when I was crying. Lol I highly recommend this Salon! read more

Look no further - make your appointment at Strandz ASAP!!!! I got my hair done with King, and the entire staff at Strandz was soooo friendly and amazing! King is so awesome! Not only did she do an amazing job on my hair, but she has such a bubbly and friendly personality that my hours there with her flew by! I'm still amazed at how good she did my hair - amazing is an understatement. She was able to make my brunette hair a super bright and gorgeous blonde, causing no damage to my hair and making it the best it has ever looked! I am beyond happy with the results :-) read more

After moving to Lakeway from San Francisco Bay Area, I looked for a hairstylist. I was so fortunate that I found Strandz and Georgia. Georgia is an artist and the best hairstylist I have ever had. The cut is fantastic. Everyone in Strandz is friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed my experience in Strandz and highly recommend this salon. read more

I booked an appointment with King Gerron yesterday. My hair was in pretty bad shape- the top was super ashy and light, but my sides were orange after I attempted bleaching them, not to mention the overall damage I had caused to my hair. Many other stylists had told me that it's not possible to lift the sides enough, since I have short guy hair. King went straight in and repaired my color and condition without hesitation. She explained what I had done wrong, walked me through every step of the fixing process, and left me with a beautiful, shiny, dimensioned blonde hair. I just cannot explain how pleasantly surprised and happy I am. If you book with her, definitely be sure to ask about conditioning treatments. Her expertise was evident, I loved my results, and in general, it was just a really fun time. From my experience, Strandz has a great atmosphere to it. Many of the other employees complimented my hair. Super empowering! I definitely recommend this place! read more

I love Strandz! Loren is by far the best hair stylist I've ever had - including those in LA and NYC. She can do crazy colors as well as more traditional colors and styles. I would almost see her just for her personality though. She and Blake make it so fun to be there everytime. read more

My hair stylist, King is an AMAZING artist. I love her high-level technique of the color and cut, also she is good at conversation. Never get bored. She listens to me, gives me some options (including within my budget) with her professional experience. I took my son to her, because his hair is messed up so bad. He did a cheap color and bleached by himself several times recently. His hair has multiple colors randomly which is hard to fix. Plus he hasn't got hair cut in a long time. I thought it would be hard work for her. But only 80min later, she fixed everything!! Everything is perfect!!!!! I think she can use the magic. My son is so excited to go back to school:) Actually he's been happy mood after that. Thank you, King! See you soon!! read more

I recently went to strandz salon and I will never return! I imagine most people want a salon experience that is relaxing and enjoyable. This place is quite the opposite. It's very loud with the hairstylists talking to each other from across the establishment about their personal lives, opinions, etc. At times yelling across the room as there were multiple hairdryers in operation. I could sense that other clients felt as I did. The experience was unpleasant and the staff was very annoying and unprofessional. read more

Love this salon. Love Kaleena. Always walk out with a great cut and color. I've been going for 8 years. Nice location and casual ambiance. read more

I relocated to Lakeway about a year ago and have been searching for a salon since moving, but just hadn't found the right one. With Strandz, I finally found it! Georgia was wonderful. I've always had color issues due to box dying years ago, as well as many other attempts to get the right color similar to my natural. Georgia knew immediately what her recommendation would be - and it turned out AMAZING. I'm so happy with the color - and the blow out was perfection. Thank you so much Georgia and Strandz! You have a new "forever" client :) read more

Just got my haircut and have to say I was blown away with the service and how amazing my cut was. I didn't even know this place existed in Lakeway but I'm so glad I found it. Ask for Georgia! She's amazing! read more

Georgia did a great job cutting and styling my challenging hair this past week. The salon is lovely. CAN RECOMMEND!

I recently went for a haircut from King at Strandz Salon in Lakeway after hearing so many great recommendations about King. I thought I was just going to get my usual boring haircut, but King took the time to do a detailed consultation with me and she explained that, even though I have thinning hair, she can give me a youthful looking hairstyle that will make me look younger. I'm glad I took her advice, because after King cut my hair, not only do I look younger, but I feel younger and have more confidence in the way others see me. I recommend King at Strandz for anyone needing an expert Hairdresser in Austin. Thanks King! You are a Rock Star!! read more

Like so many people I just moved to Texas earlier this year. Finding a hair stylist do to my really red hair has been like trying to score a golden ticket into a rainbow unicorn sanctuary- it just ain't happening. Since moving to Texas my reasonably ok hair has been bleached to within an inch of it's life, turned to mud and given more than a few wonky trims. In desperation I reached out to Strandz, based off of the good reviews (I am lookin' at you Yelp). This was kinda my last ditch effort to make my hair look like something that didn't come off a shipwrecked orangutan. I was seriously thinking how the heck I was gonna fit monthly trips to a hair salon in California into my annual budget..in other words, I was desperate. My appointment was with a no-nonsense Brit (Leslie) , who didn't pull any punches, took one look at my hair and proclaimed "ok, no bleach on you for at least 6 months!"- this chick knows her stuff. I have no idea how she did it but she got my hair to be a rich, shiny red and the best part is that is is fading, because face it, red hair fades faster than your last paycheck, fading and managing to still look rich and amazing. THAT, my friends is talent. The $$ was on the low end of what I would expect for my uber complex hair and Strandz now has a regular client. Your welcome! :) read more

Yay Shamrae Jamerson ... You ROCK! I was referred to Shamrae after complimenting a girls hair at a bar. She went on and on about how great her hairstylist was, so I gave it a try! Drove 30 miles out to Lakeway, not knowing what I was getting myself into. I was surprised to see Strandz next to my favorite place to eat and drink Flores Mexican and lots of cute stores surrounding the salon. So, on a side note...It's a Great place to spend the day off! Shamrae was extremely sweet, knowledgeable and made me feel right at home. I'm not a huge talker... but we couldn't shut up :) It was a fun experience and she did such a great job on the cut and the color. She wouldn't let me leave until every hair was in place! I wanted a natural red... and that is exactly what I got! Husband was happy, I'm happy .... 5 stars! read more

I chose this place on my wedding day to have mine and my daughters hair put into an up do. From the moment we walked in they treated us like royalty, making sure I was completely relaxed...well as much as they could control. Everyone was so attentive and nice during our experience. Jay did an amazing job on my hair and Marsha did an amazing job on my daughters hair. They even worked with me on the pricing which was a huge help for me. I recommend this place to EVERYONE. read more

After moving back to Austin from NY, I've had a difficult time finding a good salon. Lesley has been a miracle worker on my hair and my daughter's hair. My youngest daughter got a haircut by Blake, and it looked absolutely fabulous. They really understand hair, and are very honest about what will work and what won't. My last cut was so beautiful. It's been 3 months since my last cut, and I'm still getting compliments! I'm going back in this weekend for a touch up, and am so grateful for their kind, professional, caring staff. 5 stars is really not enough. read more

Shamrea at Strandz is a rockstar! I didn't think I was ever going to find a hair stylist in Austin until I went to her. I have a short A-line that is really easy to mess up, but she nails the precision cut every time. I have never received so many compliments on my hair. The last time I got it cut 3 complete strangers that saw my hair at work asked where I got it done and went to see her saying I sent them. I'll never go anywhere else! read more

Let me just start out by saying...As I sit here and type this review I do solemnly swear that I will NEVER try to do my own touch-ups at home! You all are my witnesses!!!!! That said...Thank you, thank you, thank you Karla!!! You have saved my hair (and my dignity)! My hair is colored blonde and when those pesky dark (and grey) roots start to get too long I start to freak out! This time however I went ahead on my own! UGH! I had ORANGE hair! EWWWWWW!!!! They even wanted a "before" photo...Um, NO! However, Thanks to Karla and Debbie (?)...Yes it took 2 of them...I have my blonde hair back! By the way...My husband thanks you too!!! read more
