Danny Carter I have been going to Wild Orchid for several…read morecuts by Ashley since she was at the Westlake location. I enjoyed the friendly attentive staff and Ashley's professionism and cuts (obviously as I returned several times). Hearing that Ashley had transfered to Bee Cave/Lakeway I went ahead and made an appointment there yesterday (Wednesday April 30 at 10am). I was told Ashley had upped her price by $10 in an advanced email prior to my appointment. The email also stated that any NO SHOW of my appointment would result in a 50% charge on my credit card on file. The total drive from my home to Wild Orchid was over 45 minutes. Upon arriving a few minutes before my appointment time, I was greeted by at least 3 people offering me something to drink, which was greatly appreciated for the customer service. But after waiting for nearly 10 minutes for Ashley to show, I left because Ashley didn't call, text or notify anyone anything about her NO SHOW. And still today, I have yet to hear of any apology or excuse as to why she didn't show or call. Not a word from management either. I should expect a 50% refund from my last appointment. Neither was I offered a included hair wash with any of my previous appointments that I was unaware it came with the cost of the cut. I thought I'd found the one stylist I could depend on to do my hair the way I wanted and was willing to travel over an hour and 15 minutes round trip to get. But I will NOT be going back to Ashley nor Wild Orchid for anything UNLESS they make this right. So far, I've heard nothing.

While the stylist was kind, the result itself missed the mark. Bad haircuts can happen to even the best, and at the end of the day, hair grows back. What truly stood out, though, was how the owner ultimately handled the situation. He followed up personally, took accountability, and went above and beyond in terms of customer service. That level of professionalism and care is what sticks, and it was clear that making things right was his priority.

He took his time getting to know me (which included wine and chocolate. Yay!), he asked very good questions that described my lifestyle, expectations, and my past hair experience. Then he took his time to really study my hair and all of its crazy dynamics. After a wonderful scalp massage and cleanser, it was time to get busy. It was the most relaxing and wonderful experience I ever had getting my hair done. When it was all done and blown dried .. the result was mind boggling. I got my 20s curl back! But ya know .... Will it still be there after I wash it? The answer ... yep! It's been a few weeks now and the curl is just as bouncy, and that is without using the expensive hair product. I highly recommend him if you have menopause hair. Side note .... Make sure to get the scalp massage!!

When I looked I. The mirror I thought "huh?" I thought I was darker than when I came in but maybe it was the lighting and angle. When I got home I realized it wasn't the lighting. I was darker and it looked like there was gray highlights. My husband pointed out my grow out line, roots, and said "don't they usually blend that in?" My sister said "you paid someone to do that to your hair?!" And my mom said " are you growing out your gray? I thought you were going blonde." I called the next day and they are making me wait over a week to have the same person "try" to fix my hair. I don't really want to go back and sit for hours and hope for a better result but for $300 I should love my hair. Spruce said they do not refund just fix. So proceed with caution.

Immediately on the phone they helped me figure what the best thing to do was, the front desk girl- Danielle (I think that's her name) went and talked to Dye to see what she could do and they didn't even hesitate to get me in to fix it. Not only did Dye the hairstylist get me in extremely last minute, but she did an amazing job on my really complicated hair situation. She ended up doing 3 rows of extensions, and she listened to my price point and listened to what I wanted to do, and also did check ins with me to make sure I liked it. I've never had a better experience with a hair salon/ hair stylist. Extremely welcoming and such a calm and friendly environment. I left the salon feeling more confident than I ever have, and it's been a while. I didn't think anyone would be able to fix how thin and frail my hair was but she did it better than I ever expected. I would recommend them 100000% over and over and over. Amazing work, amazing people. Love love love!

My preferred stylist is Maddie Angle because she always does a great job of sticking to what I ask for, but making it low maintenance. She tries to take as little off the ends as possible because she knows I want the length, and with multiple visits now it's getting quite long and we've nearly cleared out all the split ends. The salon is always easy to get an appointment at, feels reasonably priced and I love that they DONT try to push products on you like at other salons. I really lean towards 60/70s shaggy layers and they nail it all the time.
