I was in town for business meetings and had an urge to chop off my long hair for a freshened up look. I read lots of reviews and chose to reach out to Mark after reading so many great ones. My experience was wonderful. Mark communicated promptly and personally and squeezed me in. His salon is very clean and Mark was super nice. He is truly a professional. He took his time and was incredibly focused. I got my blonde hair deep conditioned and about 4-5" cut off. Mark softened the lines around my face and added some layers. I wish I would have known about him before my trip so I could have scheduled a highlight as I have no doubt he would do an amazing job based on the other reviews and my experience with the cut. I am thrilled with the results and highly recommend Mark. I would go back in a heartbeat however I live out of state with no immediate plans to be back in the Austin area. Thank you, Mark! read more

I've been seeing Mark for a number of years and so happy I found him! He is absolutely meticulous when it comes to a precision haircut and I've have hair that damages easily with lightening and I've never had a single issue after his coloring treatments. The salon is nice and private and you don't have to be on display while getting styled as his chair is private and cozy. I can't recommend him enough! Also I have very fine hair and my sister in law has thick, curly hair and he does an amazing job on both of us... which you don't find that in all stylists! read more

I was damaged goods when I walked into Mark's new Belterra location. 4.5 hours later I was fixed. Totally. Fixed. It took 4.5 hours which is way longer than I can stand (learned this today), but despite my rattled nerves it was totally worth it. Mark is a perfectionist and is as thorough as the day is long. I imagine working on one persons hair for that long is not near as fun as sitting in a chair scrolling FB. :). He did an amazing job and I will be seeing him again. I went to Mark based on the many reviews I read about his work. Since the pandemic, the woman who had styled my hair for almost 7 years had to give up the work so I was in search of someone I could trust as much as I trusted her. I called Mark and wanted to see me before he would recommend any services. When we finally met, he took one look at my hair, asked me what I wanted to achieve ("Go grey gracefully," was my reply), and asked about length, color, and when he could call me back to set up the appointment. The appointment date came and at 10 am I was ready for whatever he planned to do. After a thorough wash, he began his meticulous cut. My hair was longer than shoulder length and I had attempted coloring /highlighting it at home so he had his job cut out for him. To make a long story shorter, he cut my hair and began the tedious task of highlighting my entire head. He then placed color on the rest of the hair, another tedious task, then let the colors process for as long as needed. Six hours later, I was ready for the final touches and I couldn't believe my eyes. My hair looked absolutely natural with an excellent cut and style. The color was perfect and I couldn't be more pleased. The services are not inexpensive, but when you want the results that I wanted, you have to be willing to pay the price required for the caliber of talent and positive energy embodied in Mark Pianelli.
