I was surprised to learn that I could have fresh sushi without having to leave the neighborhood. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. We had La Gorda, El Volcano, and Kaji (fire). They were all DELICIOUS! Could it be? Awesome sushi in little village? Yup! So so good. Tried this place for the first time yesterday and am obsessed. The El Patron sushi burrito had amazing spicy flavors (the salmon and spicy tuna worked perfectly with all of the garnishes). I also tried the "filadelfia " /Philadelphia roll and the rolls were fresh and big. Just really happy! I am obsessed with poki & sushi and this was my first time trying a fusion sushi burrito. This is a great sushi place. It adds sushi with a twist. The price is good for the amount go food you get. Also the food is very good. Unfortunately the last two times I've ordered the food is really sub par. Once I had chewy raw fish and was immediately sick. For some reason I tried my luck once more and the salmon (normally plain, flavorful) was coated in straight mayonnaise, like they mixed the fish in a bowl of plain mayo. Additionally the sushi sauce and spicy mayo completely overpowered the bowl, you could barely see the ingredients there was so much of it. I understand if people want to ask for more sauce, but that shouldn't be the default. I might have ended my relationship with this place. read more

I am in love with this Latin/Japanese fusion sushi place! The sushi was very fresh and well presented. Loved the sushi burritos as they were filling and tasty. The burritos were good portion sizes that will fill you up. You can tell the fish in the burritos and sushi were fresh. Flavors were a bomb, surprisingly mixed well and refreshing. DELICIOUS Japanese/Latin fusion! Portions are generous, and prices are low for Japanese food. My husband and I ordered 2 sushi burritos, a hand roll, and an appetizer. It was waaaaayyy too much food! I was full just from the burrito, and we had to take home leftovers. Flavors were FANTASTIC. The tuna tostada appetizer was exceptionally delicious. It was a far amount of food for the price. I liked the flavor pairing a lot im just not sure on the spicy shrimp. It tasted fine but looked questionable. Not a pilsen native, but having sushi so close to the south side is not only needed, but highly appreciated. I ordered delivery so I didn't have sushi yet, but I'd love to update my review to 5 stars once I go in and try some of it. Looks really good! I had Takoyaki and the sesame balls. Takoyaki was bomb. Soft and gooey on the inside and slightly crunchy on the outside; perfect! Sesame balls were a little too salty for my tastes, but good regardless. The real star of this show was the spicy mayo sauce. Holy crap it was SO GOOD. I bet it tastes amazing on some sushi. Order some extra on the side, you won't be disappointed! read more

This place used to be amazing. I used to order from them at least once or twice a month. I stopped for a while due to the pandemic. Today I ordered from doordash and was quite excited when I saw the newly added sushi items. Upon arrival of the food, presentation was very bad. The quality of the fish was very poor. I did not finish everything because I was worried to eat raw dish that are not fresh. Few hours later I went home and started to experience stomach ache. A little hidden gem in Little village! I don't come to little village but was gladly surprised to see this sushi place right on 26th street. Today as I drove on 26th street I was also trying to find something quick and fresh. Then I read a sign that said something about sushi. What!? Sushi on 26th street???? Two blocks away I decided to park and walk back to see what this place was all about. Boy, am I glad I did. Clean, different little place and the menu, I wanted to try everything on it. My husband and I ordered delivery from here and we absolutely loved it! The food arrived REALLY fast (we live in the neighborhood, but it was still faster than expected!). Everything was boxed really well, It was impressive. The kind of thing that would be awesome to eat on-the-go. We got the Monster Sushi Burrito and El Patron Sushi Burrito (basically giant sushi rolls) we LOVED both and they were really fresh. The Shrimp Bites... Soooo good, fried, crunchy outside and the sauce just makes it complete. The Wakame (seaweed salad) was great because they add fresh shredded carrots and cabbage to add crunch which makes it so much yummier. And the sesame balls... I could have eaten all 8 myself, they were so good! Mildly sweet, crunchy outside, soft and warm inside. I'm seriously obsessed with those... anyway... Everything was freshly made and delicious. When this place opened I would eat here at least once a week. Look through all the early reviews and you'll see this place was great. Once they changed management/ownership the quality has gone down tremendously even thought they haven't changed the menu items. Whyyy change something that wasn't broke? The quality of the fish has gone down, the amount of fish has decreased, and it's just junk. So sad cause I used to love love love ordering from here. I would still order here and there hoping they'd get it together, but somehow every time I order after several months it's worst?
