    Sushi and nigiri (AYCE)
    Clarissa C.

Such an amazing deal - AYCE sushi dinner for 21.99! 10% off discount if you pay in cash! A quick note that there's a limit of 10 nigiri per round per person. You can always order more later! They have a variety of appetizers, nigiri (not sashimi), and speciality rolls. The color dragon was delicious!!! The nigiri is great quality for the price point. I was obsessed with the fire salmon, which is a slightly torched raw salmon with yum yum sauce and unagi sauce on top. This is definitely a popular restaurant! The service was incredibly fast, and all the tables were filled the entire time we were there! They had a bunch of delivery orders too.

Omgeee. This is my daughter/mom date spot with my teen. We love coming here for sushi once a week. We come so often we normally get the same table. It's that good. We have done the all you can eat menu before and it's a great value but we typically order the same thing every time we come in: Godzilla Roll Kani Bomb Kani Seaweed And maybe another roll, boba and a Diet Coke. LOL Highly recommend you make a reservation because this place gets packed after 5 any day of the week.

Sushi was subpar, we've had much better, the Sit down Cafe was way better. We also ordered the Beef and Chicken Udon, both lacked flavor. And offered nothing to enhance the flavor. Bottom line, not coming back

Came here for dinner on a busy Friday night! Around a -15/30 min wait. Everything came in plastic containers or paper plates which was interesting. Sushi fish quality definitely wasn't the highest, but for the price it was decent/mid. Ambiance was ok.

Dragon Maki (10/10) - my favorite. I get this every time

Very affordable sushi in Hyde Park with fast service and a lunch/dinner AYCE buffet. They serve all their food on paper plates or carry-out containers. I would stick with their sushi because their ramen was very bland and cheap tasting. *safe for nut allergies*

Everything was single use, paper and plastic (a lot of waste).

Right off the top, the paper plates and plastic cutlery, I had my miso in a styrofoam cup. it's obviously not going to kill me but still dissatisfying for a dining experience. I also want to echo what others have said it messes with the flavors and temperature. the service was solid and I have my go-to roles such as #107 the fire dragon (SO SO GOOD) and the Submarine roll.

It is so good, my friend works here and the service is amazing ! I love the taro boba and rainbow maki here and the ramen noodles are good too! And it was all for a cheap price, and the thai vibes were so amazing and I loved being here !

Mi-So Ramen was tasty and filling.

Came for a late lunch and enjoyed the place. It was easy to get a spot, but I could tell that this might be quite different at a more peak time. It could get quite packed because it is a small space. The hostess and waitress were awesome. Started off with the california maki. A bit scantier than I expected. Likely wouldn't do it again. The Mi-So Ramen was very good. Quite tasty and filling. Unfortunately, I was just at a celebrated Ramen restaurant in another city, so I felt a little let down. I'm sure I would have felt better about theirs if I hadn't been spoiled. Definitely a spot I would go to again and my lunch partner is a practical regular.

    Overstuffed sushi

Honestly racist place. I've been here 3 times out of thinking maybe it's just me. It's not. To be constantly stared at like a spectacle yet no one wants to even say anything to us? No hello or welcome. They were upset with me when I asked to switch tables. The raw fish in the sushi isn't that fresh at all. The sushi was overstuffed with clearly overwatered rice. The seaweed was often too hard to even chew through. They won't give you ice cream unless you ask despite it being included it in the all you can eat option. I could've walked out without paying. That's how much they weren't paying attention to me. I waited 30 minutes for a check. They never brought it. I had to go to the front to pay, despite the waitress asking the white man and Indian man next to me if they wanted their checks. The raw fish in the sushi isn't that fresh at all. The sushi was overstuffed with clearly overwatered rice. The seaweed was often too hard to even chew through. There are way too many Sushi restaurants in Chicago with much options better interior and much better sushi for this place to be so rude. I wouldn't feed this to my dog.

Pretty good quality sushi for AYCE restaurant. Our orders came quick. It's good for groups. Love the music. Too hungry to take all the food pics.

Seating was comfortable. I tried their express lunch menu, which is a great option if you're here during lunch time. You get to pick 3 items from the list and I chose tako taco (a little spicy but highly recommend- one of my favorite things that day), salmon avocado (I'm not a personal fan of the Meyer lemon sauce), and tuna avocado rice bowl. Each item is smaller portioned but all together it's a substantial lunch set. I also tried the express sushi and sashimi lunch set, which comes with a delicious seaweed salad which I would order on its own as an appetizer. The lunch set comes with their "oh-my-kaze." This includes salmon, hamachi and tuna. One piece of tuna was substandard and had a big piece of sinew in it. Our server quickly switched it for another piece. The only dish I would skip is the Peking duck sizzling rice. The taste was fine- a little on the sweeter side with the hoisin sauce but the portion was more of an appetizer size. It's also not a true Peking duck, which focuses on a crispy duck skin and this dish just featured duck meat.

My only critique is the pacing. Since the chef already had the fish sliced and prepped, I expected a smoother flow, but the meal took about an hour and a half for 14 pieces of sushi. It felt a bit slow, especially for a lunch service. That said, if you're looking for a reasonably priced omakase with quality fish, this is a solid choice.

Both were great. Our bartenders were lovely and very friendly. Found out this is a Malort tasting room and we were able to sample some different Malorts (the cocoa one was good!). Then we were taken back to our table for dinner. Our server was super friendly as well. Started with the miso soup and crispy tuna bites which were probably my favorite dishes. The taki yoki fritters weren't bad either. We saw people getting omakase, so we ordered a yummy looking piece they were receiving. It was just okay (chutoro truffle). The nigiri was also okay. The tuna piece was the only I really loved. The fish quality wasn't as high as I was expecting. The sushi was decent. A little too much truffle in the spicy blue fin tuna and a little too vegetable forward in the hamachi serrano. All in all, the atmosphere and amazing service pushed this up to a 4 for me.
