Do not bring your dog here because you and your poor dog will end up waiting up to 8 hours to be groomed. The shop is highly disorganized. Kyla had made our pup Charlie wait for over 7 hours on two different occasions now and I will not subject him to that again. The last time she said she was very busy and was the only groomer there so Charlie had to wait. This time, we requested that we have the first appointment of the day so Charlie didn't have to be caged for so long. It should not take that long to groom a small 22 pound dog. We arrived for our 8am appointment and the shop wasn't even opened yet. Kyla shows up 20 minutes late and there was another customer also waiting for their 8am appointment. How is she supposed to groom two dogs at once? Disorganized. After dropping Charlie off, we ended up waiting for over 7 hours before he was finally released after 3p. There was no apology given. Did he drink any water? Was he able to go out to the bathroom? And we saw other customers leaving with their dogs who came after us! When we got our Charlie boy, we noticed he had red swollen wounds around his eyes where his hair and eye discharge had been yanked out of his face. We were horrified. She hurt our boy. It was clear that in an effort to rush the grooming, Kyla ripped out the hair and eye discharge without any concern for our pup. She did not mention it when we picked him up, probably hoping we wouldn't notice how she hurt him. This has happened to our dog one time before, with a different grooming company so we specifically told Kyla how to clean around his eyes. We even told her that a groomer did this exact thing so please be gentle. AND THEN SHE DOES THE SAME THING TO HIM. When I called her to let her know that her services were unacceptable and inhumane she did not offer a proper apology or any money back. She lied and said the wounds were there before we brought him in. I told her I will not be bringing him back there again and hung up. She then texts my husband's cell phone with a long message acting like she did nothing wrong, excusing her lateness, and trying to lie her way out of what she did to my dog. TOTALLY INAPPROPRIATE. If you want your dog to be in a safe, humane environment where your appointment is valued - do not come here. read more

After years of using a chain pet store grooming service, I was lucky enough to discover a small pet grooming service called Sophisticated Pooch in Clark, NJ. This grooming service gave my aging dog personal and caring service. They took extra time with my dog, and made her feel very comfortable. They took her out for a walk during her time there. My dog looked beautiful and happy when I arrived to pick her up. After this new experience, I will not be returning to the factory-like atmosphere of the large pet store grooming salons. read more

Rating is Zero. Made 8am first appointment of the day. Explained clearly that my dog was never caged. Owner said ok, well take him as first customer so he won't be caged. These morons kept him until 3:45pm. We called at 10:30 am and they said he's not getting groomed yet because they put other dogs before him. They caged him and didn't get to him until approx. 1:30pm. Every time I called they said he's being groomed. Liars. Our baby Bichon was traumatized. Do not take your pet here. Go to Posh Paws in Clark. This place sucks. My puppy looked terrible. The ears were uneven. Do yourself a favor, DO NOT GO HERE. had to beg them to get a receipt. Hmmmm? Strange. read more

Kyla, the owner, takes such good care of my pup! My dog is a mini Goldendoodle and we like her coat to be kept long, but she really hates to be brushed. Kyla is super patient and gentle with her every time my dog goes into the salon. She comes out super happy, which is always the best feeling for a dog mom since it's tough generally to leave my dog with someone else. I highly recommend you taking your dog there if you're looking for a friendly and caring groomer who will make your dog look fantastic! read more

If you are looking for quaint and qualified grooming establishment, this is the place. Forget those large commercial chains.... your beloved pet is treated as such. They have been in business countless years because of what they aren't! I'm sure you get what I mean. Call in advance of you pets need as everything great is worth waiting for! My dog needed her nails clipped and no one could get it done-she was terrified . She was in pain .Was told by a few groomers to take her to the vet and have her drugged for the clipping. Not a very safe option. Sandy was patient and kind enough to take all the time it took to make her calm enough to get it done. I tried this groomer to find something closer to my house. What a mistake! This is a the worst grooming my dog ever had. None of her breed guidelines were met. Her coat is choppy and inconsistent. She looks like a different dog and not in a good way. The people there are very nice, but that doesn't make up for the result. read more
