So she was cut down more than I desired, very uneven might I add. Also, when we picked her up, her ears were clipped and bleeding which they didn't immediately tell us. We were on the way home and turned back around & brought her back in and the lady swore it was because her ears were matted. Both her ears??

Don't make the same mistake I made bringing my little one here…read more I was misled by the good reviews and thought this place was reputable. My wife took our 13 year old toy poodle here and he came back a mess. Refer to pictures(first 2 are his baseline, then how we received him). His hair wasn't cut right and worst of all he was bruised up. My wife reluctantly paid and upon seeing him after work, I went there the next day myself. I'm a professional, so when I walked in I asked the lady in front (now who I know is likely the owner, I think her name is Stephanie) and stated that I'd like to speak to 2 people: first, whoever cut his hair, and two, whoever is in charge. Her response: "Ok. Talk." Realizing she's never had customer service training, I asked which of the two people she was then. She said she was "in charge" so I asked to speak to whoever cut his hair first. Out comes the groomer and I asked how his hair cut went yesterday. She states that he did well, that he was obedient and that he had no issues. I inquire about his huge bruise and she states: "oh no that's his skin." I explain to her that no, it's a bruise. He's a lap 7.8lb lapdog and after 13 years, I know his little moles etc but this is 100% a bruise. She suggests I "go to the vet if I want a second opinion." I didn't know her opinion counted as 1st, and what I'd really like to know who she thought was going to pay that visit. I inquire why half the hair on his head is long vs the other. Now her and the "manager" state that they have clear policies about not being rough with uncooperative dogs to achieve a perfect cut. My counterargument is he's 13: he's easily been groomed more than 100 times and never has he comes out looking this disheveled. Their response: "oh well maybe those places were a lot rougher!" I was stupefied: "yet he's never come home bruised this way!" The conversation then turned into them telling me a puppy cut doesn't exist, which again he's been groomed 100+ times in multiple states and even countries and while I understand there may be slight differences, everyone knows what I mean. Apparently not here. Then they keep telling me go to a vet for a second opinion. Seeing this was going nowhere, I asked if I could speak to the manager separately. I was very clear: given what has happened here, what I think is fair is a refund and an apology. She she begrudgingly gave me the refund and no apology was ever uttered. I feel responsible for my dog's suffering. The bruise to me looks like a pinch. His nails were too short and he licked them for 3 days uncomfortably. He didn't eat for 2 days and shook constantly. I really wish his usual groomer hadn't been on vacation. I wish I had just waited. I recommend you look elsewhere, for your little one's sake. This business is totally unprofessional.

I'm updating my review after two years since getting my Cavapoo puppy, Ellie:…read more Bubbles & Bath is fabulous. They do a wonderful job and the price is reasonable. However, after a few interactions with a certain employee at this groomer's, I have to leave a complaint. I believe this employee was hired around summer time when I first brought my dog in for a haircut. They have a round face and curly black hair. Initially, I figured they were in training so I didn't say anything about the person not being knowledgeable when I asked certain questions. However, I recently went to have my dog groomed for the second time and this person was very rude to me over the phone and in person. I called the groomer's to check in on Ellie during her service which was from 9:30-12:30. I was told I'd receive a call about 12:15 or so. I didn't so I called them myself. This person picked up the phone and I asked if they could give me a rough estimate of when my dog would be finished. She said, "We can't give you an estimate. She just got on the table." I was polite and said, "Ok, no worries. Thank you" Click. She hung up without saying anything else. Prior to coming, I asked her about anal gland expression to which she said, "It's when we express their anal glands". I said, "Yes, I understand that but can you please tell me more" the other woman who was older in purple and had more experience had to step in and explain to me. This woman has always been very friendly. This afternoon, I brought in the tip for the services provided yesterday since I forgot to give it to the groomer yesterday. Upon walking in, I said, "Hi, I'm so sorry but I forgot to tip yesterday. I wanted to make sure you got your money!" The girl with curly hair said, "Ok" and turned her back on me. The older woman in the back mouthed "Thank you!" which I appreciated. I'm not one to leave a bad review for a wonderful business but I was offended by this employee's demeanor. Not friendly whatsoever. Very off putting. I am considering going elsewhere, but B & B really is an amazing spot.

I am so grateful Funny Pets is next door because I would travel to them anywhere in the city yet…read morethey are the building right next door!!! When I first got my Havanese I wasn't prepared for the amount of grooming these little doggies require. I thought ... oh yeah they're pretty small I can just bathe her a few times and then she can go to grooming a few times. My goodness was I wrong. Her hair is like cotton so it gets knotted from just looking at it. On top of that, my pups hates being brushed so getting any knots out is not an easy task. This is when my ordeal of looking for a good grooming place started. Of course I went on to Yelp to look for what was best in the city and I ended up somewhere in the East Village that had the best ratings in all of Yelp. How could I go wrong, right? Better not!!! I very clearly gave instructions to do a puppy cut and not a full summer cut because I didn't want her fully shaved. Comes out looking like a squirrel and they gave the excuse that the knots were so much that they couldn't do anything else, but fully shave her. At that point it was my first full grooming for a long haired dog so I was devastated (that sounds so ridiculously frivolous, but I was), but I figured they would know better since they had such good ratings. Would never ever go back to them, but also thought they might have been right. So wrong!!! I took the little one with longer hair and with what I think were worst mats (not because I don't brush her, but because when it's too much I'd rather just have the experts deal with it) and the groomers at Funny Pets NYC have never once given her a full shave, but have followed my instructions to the dot and have returned her to me looking like the fluff ball she should be. Joy comes out looking gorgeous, smelling like a baby and, (more importantly) not nervous at all. Does she like going for a grooming? Not really, but she's a nervous dog anyway so the fact the ladies at Funny Pets NYC are able to keep her calm and have coming looking like a fluffy stuffed animal is just absolutely amazing. I would recommend these folks to anyone for grooming. If they can do a great job with a Havanese, I'm sure they will do a great job with any other dog. I haven't tried their dog-walking services, but I always see the dog walkers as they go by my building all the time and they seem really great ... caring and gentle with the dogs. I will definitely try them out at some point as I never know when my wonderful dog walked of 20 years may need a backup. Please go to Funny Pets NYC! This is an amazing team!
