We've never tried any other place, because we didn't have to. The owner does great work, is affordable & available. I dropped my 10 month old pup off at Bark Ave today 5/21/14 for his first professional trim. I was a little worried because he's not good at sitting still, or behaving for that matter. When I picked him up I was so in love with his new cut, & very surprised at how perfect it came out. I was convinced I liked his shagginess before, but after I saw him I fell in love with him all over again. His fur is super soft, he smells great, & I think my dog even knows he looks good. His ears were cleaned, & he even had his nails trimmed. Inside the building smells very fresh & clean, & it is very clean. There are no signs or smells of any animal poop or pee whatsoever. That is always a great thing whenever you go somewhere animals are. Everything about Bark Avenue is very pleasing & professional. This groomer has been in business for awhile I was actually surprised to see there were no reviews yet. Happy to be the first. Hopefully there will be more. Great place, great people. Great experiences every time.

I didn't get a great feeling walking in, I always felt like my Pomeranian was a burden, and the cut…read morewas never what we asked for. After this last visit, I can't in good conscience bring my dog back. In my opinion, if you don't know how to cut a particular breed, you should say that. A Pomeranian has two coats, a course undercoat, and a thinner, softer overcoat, you can not take traditional buzzers to them and if you cut the overcoat below the undercoat, it cannot grow back because the undercoat is too dense. My pom was she cut down to a "lion" cut in the middle of winter, I'll accept some blame, my grandmother dropped her off and when the groomer called back an hour later to confirm the cut type she asked, "Lion cut, right" to which my grandmother replayed, "Yes, whatever we always get," while picking up groceries at ShopRite. She didn't know what a lion cut was, and I wasn't around to answer properly, but to shave a dog down in winter is cruel, she can't even walk around the house without a sweater now and she loves the snow. It isn't the first time she's been cut too short, I can only assume because buzzers are faster than scissors, but this is by far the worst, if her overcoat grows back at all, it will take over a year. Also, the one time I did pick her up instead of my grandmother it seemed like the groomer was teasing my dog and complaining that she was afraid of the brush. I get it, it can't be the easiest thing when the dog bites the brush, but don't make fun of my dog to me, I won't be on your side. She's my baby, my poor, cold, confused baby... I am sure with bigger breeds and easier coats this groomer does a fine job, but Pomeranians are just not their strong suit.

My boyfriend said he was going to give her a tip because it was Christmas but she was even grumpy when he picked up our dog so he ended up not giving her which I'm so happy about. I mean she even shaved his butt with just a strip exposed! My dog has never been so miserable and his booty is all raw and cut up. His ears are all chopped up.
