Call the store and told them I wasn't comfortable bringing my dog there and Mike (think that was his name) wanted to give me a hard time about the name of the store. He confirmed they were located right next to Mijo's. Told him the name is The Pup Club he proceeded to tell me I was wrong and he put the sign up himself. I told him I wasn't going to argue over the fact of the name of the business, just that I was not comfortable bringing my dog to them to be groomed. Told him I appreciated him canceling the appointment and to have a good day and I hung up I received a phone call about 10 minutes ago from Michelle, who was supposedly at the colonia location. She wanted to argue about the name on the building. I explained what I told Mike when I called to cancel the appointment told her again. I was not comfortable bringing my dog there, and she proceeded to hang up on me. I called back and said that I was not going to leave a bad review and just let it go but after being hung up on, they deserved a poor review from me. Their customer service is horrible. I have no idea what company they actually are and here's a picture to prove that it is not listed as In-N-Out grooming. Be cautious where you take your fur babies to be groomed. 2:30 pm Now I am being harassed by text messages and pictures of what they probably just installed name change on the sign. Sent pictures to prove it but it's been 5 hours quite enough time to change a sign. In response to Mike. There is no agenda, except to warn people about your lack of professionalism between you and your manager at your "Colonia" location. Hanging up on a customer, then harassing the customer by calling them numerous times would be harassment. I'm just warning future customers the type of people that they will be dealing with and you're right, I'm not a customer never will be. I wouldn't trust my dog with people like you. Better yet I wouldn't even trust a rat with you and your employees. I don't know how you became a business owner and handled this entire situation shows complete lack of professionalism. I politely called to cancel my appointment explained why I was not comfortable bringing my dog to your facility to be groomed. That should've been the end of it right there. But when you have your manager, Michelle, call and harass me then hang up on me is what prompted the negative reviews. Should things have been left with me canceling my appointment. There would've been no bad reviews but the way the situation was handled was completely and utterly disgusting. I would've loved to be able to bring my dog to be groomed so close to my house You lost a customer and I hope future people who are looking to find a new groomer know what they're getting into with people like you and Michelle.

I have just adopted three kittens from Angel Paws and I cannot say anything but positive things…read moreabout the facility. First of all, all of the volunteers are the nicest people and work tirelessly to take care of and most of love all of these cats. The facility might be small, as some of the other reviewers have stated, but they make good use of all of it. There are areas for the new cats who are being evaluated, areas for the cats that have behavioral or trust issues and are harder to adopt out (they are loved very much by the volunteers) and all other cats in between. I have adopted from other facilities and I am so very impressed with the care these cats are receiving, being at the facility or in their foster homes. Their medical care is taken care of by Angel Paws and written documentation is given to the adopters. Some other reviewers have mentioned that the facility took a while to get back to them after inquiring about some cats. I did not find this at all. I was called within less than two days. They did ask many questions about my ideas on caring for cats but I was comfortable with this. They want the best for the animals. I find that a positive attribute. They genuinely care for these cats and will only give them the best lives. I went for one cat and took home three. This was because of the great people and their care of my future babies. I had constant communication from their foster mom and I ended up loving this place so much, I am now a volunteer one day a week. Please come in and visit or go to the adoption events and check out their cats. Each have their own unique personalities and the volunteers can help you find your perfect baby, or two.

I shall exclude the volunteer staff especially the younger ones who were amazing and so filled with love and ambition. But as for the rest of this rescue where one is supposed to be able to "Adopt"? What a laugh. Every other negative review I have read here on Angel Paws could not be more accurate in their experience. I had/saw the same upon taking my friend to adopt her second "fur-baby" (Is this a term now? I feel just as nuts as the lady running the joint). Long, long, and over dramatically short (which could have been unwarranted mind you). Arriving at opening in the evening, which seemed absurd to me to begin with, walking right in with several other families, we were greeted by lovely volunteers racing around trying to feed every little meow and squeek coming from every known corner of this small facility (I use that word as a kindness). I questioned if this was the first time that day these dear furry angels were seeing people. Most working said the owner did what she could during the day and they came at night, night being 6pm. Speaking of said owner, it was if she was the "man behind the curtain" heard of but never seen. My friend, after holding and bonding with 3 or 4 kittens believed she had found "the one". Filling out an application, as one would do, we were told we would be called within 1-2 days. Great! A week passes, I call and get voicemails, leave messages, never reach a person. She goes back for a second visit. The kitten is still their. She asks. Oh the owner has been terribly busy, but don't worry, this weekend latest, she says. The week and weekend come and go. So finally I go in myself. Because at every shelter and rescue I've worked at, to get one of these sweeties into a forever home? Top priority. And some I worked at went as far as a background check. Never did they take over a week. So yes, I went, I saw, I wanted to or may have not only shed a tear for my friend but also those poor cats and kittens trapped behind that glass window. Without needing to give reason my friend was rejected. Application declined. The owner deemed herself so high and mighty that not even a reason or explanation was given as a kindness. This is only of "those" places. A few bucks shy of the remaining "pet stores" there are. A lovely few from the front, but for the poor babies down in the basement (And oh yes, they are down there ) never seen in thsirnown mess, this "rescue" is a sham. The staff, whom I finally got to speak to me one on one all said the same. High adoption fees, low number of adoptions, abuse of funds, abuse of volunteer offered time, minors included folks. This nightmare of a "holier than thou" owner should have to face the furry jury for her crimes. Crazy cat lady would have been a relief compared to the monster described to me and read about in not only Yelp reviews, but upon further investigation into the community, and just about anyone whom has crossed her path. The same story rings true. Save yourself the time, and your children the tears. Not to mention the absurd $250 adoption fee. Which other than private rescues who strictly foster their litters, I have never seen that "price". There are some amazing rescues and shelters out there with babies and adults just as well deserving of a home. I highly recommend Somerset Animal Rescue in Bridgewater. And depending on your area the ASPCA or Woodbridge/Edison rescue. I just found my own newest addition to our family at Friends of Linden Shelter after a look on Petfinder.com Good luck to you all! Be safe and above all be smart! (Side note: For all who may need to surrender their loved pet for whatever the reason. Do NOT use Craigslist or give them to anyone who "claims" to be some kind of sanctuary that isn't legitimate. There are some mighty bad things and lives of little ones being lost this past year. Like I said. Safe, and smart.)

The groomer was next door at the time (I think at the small animal shelter) and noticed I was waiting outside her door. She proceeds to tell me she wasn't expecting me yet (literally 5 minutes before my appointment) but that it's ok. We walk inside. She goes on about how this time isn't usually for cats and asked if I saw the fine print on her site about it. When I booked on her website there was nothing that mentioned specific times for cats only, and even if there was, why would you confirm the appointment if the time that I picked is not ok? Weird. This place is like half apartment half grooming salon. She has two cats of her own just roaming around. There's hair all over the floor, I'm guessing from the night before and/or lack of cleaning properly. Maybe get your own cats out of there so other animals aren't more scared...and how hard is it to sweep a floor? She proceeds to bring me to a basic table covered with random things, to see my cat and talk about what my cat needs done. She becomes frazzled once she found out my cat pooped in the carrier on the drive over, and now she's not able to do the service in the order she normally does. (Lots of dogs and cats hate the car and carriers and poop. That should be expected) If you're a such a professional you should be able to adjust things as needed. (she didn't even check him yet to see if he had feces on him or not. Come to find out he actually didn't so she frazzled herself for no reason.) She tells me she's a holistic groomer (no scruffs and no restraints) and if my cat becomes unmanageable she will stop service as she doesn't scruff cats because it can make them angrier (umm...even the vets do that). Whatever you say, lady. We talked about what we will be done, and I leave my cat there expecting her to do her job. I shrugged that weird stuff at first all off because ehh stuff happens, and maybe she's having an off day, and this woman does have good reviews so, I'll let it slide. Not even 15 minutes later she calls me to come get my cat because he's not handleable. Seriously?? My cat has never even given the vets a problem or any person for that matter. She said she started to brush him and he was growling and hissing (yeah that's what cats do when they aren't happy, not a shock there) so she said she put a cone on him. (I'm sure that pissed him off more, and she'll use a cone but not scruff? Lol) Then she said she tried to continue to brush him out and when she got near the matted hair by his hips he attacked her. (Little red marks on her arm, nothing serious at all) His mats on his hips are so close to his skin you can not brush them out! I've had a vet tell me that in the past. They need to be buzzed. No wonder he got even more angry, he was in pain. She tried to tell me she sees mats like that all the time and they can be brushed out with certain brushes, and she proceeds to shows me a brush. I literally have the same one at home among 5 other kinds, and that brush she showed me is for undercoats, not removing mats, but nice try! After calling her out on her bs, and telling her I do brush him and wipe him almost daily, she gets a snarky attitude and asks me well then why is he in this condition? The cat is dirty because he doesn't clean himself at all, and he likes to roll around in corners of my unfinished basement. I really do try to keep up, but brushes and wipes will only remove hair and top layer dirt and oil, not undercoat dirt and oil, and not mats either. She recommends more brushing and waterless shampoo. Lol! I get my cat back and pay her $53 (deposit fee with tax)-- which I will be disputing with my bank because literally all she did was brush him. He was panting like crazy the entire way home. That doesn't even happen to him when he goes to the vet! Avoid this place especially if you have a cat. Maybe if holistic ways actually worked there would be more holistic things out there. Ugh. What a waste of time and unnecessary aggravation for my cat and myself. I will be bringing him to the vet, which will be way more expensive, but at least they will get the job done.

And charged 50 bucks at that! My boyfriend said he was going to give her a tip because it was Christmas but she was even grumpy when he picked up our dog so he ended up not giving her which I'm so happy about. I mean she even shaved his butt with just a strip exposed! My dog has never been so miserable and his booty is all raw and cut up. His ears are all chopped up. He's only 5 years old but she managed to make him look 250 years old. Like she needs to give it up at this point and never cut another dog again. The worst! His paws are shaped all wonky I mean, he's a Yorkie Poo. She should know how to cut him to look like either a Yorkie or a poodle and he looks like neither now.
