My sister recommended this place to me! Parking - there is parking in front but honestly this plaza seems to be busy most of the time. The person in front, Alan, took my order and was super kind. He offered me water was I waited for my order. I got a 10 piece soy garlic chicken and a rose tteokbokki and mayak gimbap to go. The food was really good and the packaging was also very nice. But definitely eat it at the restaurant. The rose tteokbokki with added ramen was my favorite! It's a little hole in the wall type restaurant and its super cozy. I will definitely be back!
The food was absolutely delicious! We ordered the tofu soup, fried chicken, rice cakes, and bulgogi, and everything was amazing. The prices were very affordable, and the service was excellent! We had a great experience and will definitely be coming back. The ambiance is also very family- and kid-friendly, which is a big plus!
Loveeee this spot! We tried a few dishes and everything was delicious. I especially loved the cold noodles and the kimbap. Staff was also nice and helpful. The chicken though was probably my least favorite but I'd try bone in next time instead of boneless. Flavor was good though! I liked sauce mixed more than honey butter.
Great food! My kind of food! Friendly service. There are plenty of options on the menu other than fried foods. They also recently added hot tofu soup to the menu. I tried their hot tofu soup, kimbap, seafood pancakes. All tastes good!
Promised myself the last time I was here to get the army stew when it gets cold. We got an army stew, boneless bulgogi fried chicken, boneless onion sauce fried chicken and a side of fries. The army stew really hit the spot. The spiciness really creeps up on you and warms you up. The radish side really complimented to level out the heat. The boneless fried chicken is very good, just like last time. I don't remember getting sides the last time I was here. The service is very good we finished 3 of 4 of the sides before our order came out and they refilled us with a little extra.
Haven't been back to Soonheene & Twozone in a while--mainly because my friends don't share my love for that irresistible sweet-and-spicy kick in tteokbokki. They like their savory food strictly savory. But this time, I didn't compromise. I went all in on the sweet combo: tteokbokki with honey butter chicken. Truly a match made in heaven. The tteokbokki delivers that perfect balance of heat and sweetness, with the sauce clinging beautifully to each chewy rice cake. Every bite is bold, glossy, and deeply satisfying. The pickled radish on the side adds just the right touch of brightness, cutting through the richness and refreshing your palate between bites. And the honey butter chicken? It arrives hot and audibly crunchy, each piece generously coated in that addictive sweet-savory seasoning. Crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and dangerously easy to keep reaching for. This combo hits every note--spicy, sweet, crunchy, chewy, rich, and refreshing. Easily a five-star experience.
After last time we wanted to come back and try the army stew we saw one table had that time. Parking was decent, since it was a Wednesday night, it wasn't busy. We came around 6pm and it changed for dine in option, a server was available this time to give us menus, take our orders at the table and provided banchan (side dishes) for us as well as water. There was a few other tables with us and the place still looks the same. I also noticed a QR code on the table which we didn't use but may be to help streamline ordering in case a server was too busy. The banchan is refillable upon request which we did ask and it was received! I am super happy to see fishcake, picked radish cubes, kimchi, and stir fried julienne potato. Here is what we got: An order of two boneless fired chicken (bulgogi and onion sauce, $3.50 extra for onion and it was worth it in my opinion!). Onion sauce was a nice creamy mild sauce over the chicken and slightly cooling effect to counter the spicy army stew. The bulgogi sauce was slightly spicy and sweet, since it was slightly spicy to my son, and he didn't want to try the onion one, we asked the server to add in a side of fries my son might not eat the chicken. The army stew spicy level cannot be modified and yes it was a little too spicy for me but I ate it well with chicken and fries. It came with a bowl of rice and fried egg on top. We didn't ask for more rice as there was plenty of food. I did enjoy the cheese covered spam slices, mini sausages, and fish cake in the stew, I didn't eat much of the noodles given how spicy it was. Once we finished eating we asked for a check and a to go box, the server was handling the tables by herself and was very attentive to us so she did a wonderful job. Overall, super happy I came back. We plan to com back to try their pancakes and tofu soup!
A small but cozy place that serves delicious Korean comfort food! Perfect for a cold wintery night as it is now! I came here with a friend on a weekday night where there wasn't a lot of people, and my friend and I chose our own table. This is a self-serve style restaurant in which you get up and order at the counter, and you can grab complimentary drinks (tea and/or water). You then pick up your food once it is called. We ordered the rose tteokbokki + oden fishcake soup combo and kimchi pancakes. The rose tteokbokki was creamy and delicious, the pancake was amazingly crispy, and the oden fishcake was the perfect texture! I am definitely coming back to try this place again! I am looking forward to trying the mayak and donkatsu.
This a little hole in the wall mom n pop run by original owners which is right in my wheelhouse as far as eating establishments go. You always get the best service and nearly home cooking with this kind of restaurant. We had the Donkatsu, soy garlic wings and ramen soup with udon noodles. All were so delicious! I suspect their whole menu is just as delicious! Yumi, the owner and server is the sweetest lady and takes a lot of pride in her business. Give this restaurant a try. You won't regret it!
For authentic Korean street food, this is the place to go. Soonheene is a self-service restaurant, where you order at the counter and grab your own beverages (regular water, lemon water, or tea). My husband and I like to order the Tteokbokki + Mayak + Oden combo. These 3 dishes are all must-try Korean street-food classics. Tteokbokki: This was a bit spicier than my preference, but I still found it to be delicious. The employee did not ask what spice level I wanted, so I am uncertain whether I had the regular or spicy one. The portion was huge with lots of rice cakes and fish cakes. Mayak Gimbap: These are bite-sized seaweed rolls filled with rice, fish cake, pickled radish, and carrots. The dish is fairly simple, yet the gimbap is so addicting to eat. It comes with some sauce on the side. However, I think the gimbap is already super flavorful without any sauce. Oden: A bowl of very tasty fish cake soup. It comes with 3 big fish cake skewers. The fish cake is nice and chewy, while the broth is light and savory. This is great to eat alongside some spicy food like tteokbokki. There is a decent amount of tables and seating inside. The parking lot is shared with a few other businesses. Although it can get busy during peak hours, I have never had any difficulty finding a parking spot.
Omg, the rose tteokdokki is SO yummy here that I had to write a review for just for it. This place takes the iconic sweet spicy sauce and f it into a velvety and spicy cream sauce combined with meaty flavoring of smoky bacon and Vienna sausages, it nearly Carbonara! While the rose tteokdokki is certainly a must, the other dishes are equally deserving of mention, particularly their fried chicken. We got the soy garlic which is a wet sauce but it still came out crispy. Service was good; there was a young guy running the front who was really nice and attentive. I def will come back
Came here this past Wednesday with my parents after hearing great things from a friend about Soonheene and Twozone Chicken. Soonheene actually started in Seoul's famous Gwangjang Market where they were known for their pancakes, so I was excited to check it out. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by Esther (the owner) and her daughter. They both went out of their way to explain the menu and answer all my questions with genuine smiles. That kind of hospitality really sets the tone for a meal. We ordered the Pork Mungbean Pancake, Rose Tteokbokki (creamy rice cakes with fish cake and sausage), Bibim-Naengmyeon (spicy cold buckwheat noodles), and a whole fried chicken split into two flavors. Everything we ordered was delicious and tasty. For half the chicken, I went with the original but added green onion and their special oriental sauce drizzle. The other half was spicy soy garlic. I'll admit, I liked the original better. I second-guessed myself when the owner's daughter mentioned soy garlic was their number one most popular flavor followed by honey butter, but I thought I would be different and try the spicy version. The spice kind of drowned out that garlicky soy flavor, so lesson learned. Next time I am going straight for the soy garlic and honey butter combo. For drinks, we tried the Korean coffee and cold yuzu drink, both refreshing and a nice complement to the food. By the end of the meal, everything was so good that I even found myself asking about catering their chicken for future events. The vibe inside is really comfortable with soft K-pop playing in the background. It is just enough for atmosphere but not too loud, so you can talk easily. The only tricky part is parking since it is in a busy plaza with a lot of other restaurants, but at least it is free. Overall, this was one of the most unique dining experiences we have had recently, made extra special by Esther and her daughter's hospitality. I love supporting family-owned spots like this, and I will definitely be back to try that famous soy garlic and honey butter chicken next time.
One of my go-to spots for Korean street food, Soonheenee is one of the most authentic restaurants there is. This specific restaurant can be pretty busy especially during evenings and weekends. Parking can be complicated as the plaza is shared with other popular spots, can park nearby on the street and walk over. Parking in the plaza is free. In comparison to the Soonheene in Chino Hills, this shop is a order then sit down restaurant. Most of the shop is self service based and has moderate amount of seating inside. It's also a great spot that ranges from solos, duos, to large groups. My wife and I ordered the Mayak + Oden (Fish Cake) + Tteokbokki Combo ($27.99) to dine in, waited around 10-15 minutes which is pretty fast for the amount of food. The Mayak (Kimbap) comes in 8PCs and is perfect to share, it's definitely the perfect dish as an appetizer, made different than the usual circle kimbaps, they're made long style instead, perfect for a bite size dish. Absolutely one of the most well made kimbaps around. The Oden (Fish Cake) comes in 3PCs, the soup that comes with the fish cake makes the oden seasoned well. The flavor seeps into the soup which keeps the oden chewy and savory. Although I wish the portions could be a bit more, the size of the Oden makes up for it. High recommend as this balances really well with the tteokbokki. The Tteokbokki is the main attraction for Korean Street food and Soonheene doesn't disappoint. The portions are massive, and very well sauced, and is filled with tteokbokki & fish cake. For people who like the tteokbokki a bit less spicy, you can dip it in the Oden soup to soften the spiciness, highly recommend as it's still very flavorful. There's also a rose option which I prefer a bit more than the regular tteokbokki. It's very creamy, savory, and chewy. Best tteokbokki I've ever had.

Giving this place 1 star because I got food poisoning after eating here. Another person in my group also got food poisoning :( I am 100% sure the seafood pancake was the culprit. Be wary if you decide to eat here. Sad, because this place has amazing rose tteokbokki Came with a party of 4 total and we ordered: mayak gimbap - 8/10 - they were a little greasy, but overall it was a nice delicate and cute lil wrap. rose tteokbokki 10/10 - delicious!! I love tteokbokki and loved that this one wasn't too spicy and they gave plenty of fish cake! seafood pancake 6/10 - a little dry and a little too greasy. Also, the only seafood in it was 1 shrimp per slice. 20 pieces of wings 6.5/10 - the honey butter was good but the spicy garlic was awful There's no public restroom in this restaurant and parking is not great - most spots are 5 or 30-minute parking only. Prices are OK, I would come back just for the rice cakes. Also, the yelp check-in deal is only for fountain drinks and they don't offer any more shaved ice (sad). read more
First time here and it was really good. Me and my friend shared the food and it was perfect for two people. It wasn't too spicy. I wish it was a little spicy or has different levels to choose from. Checked in and got a free soft drinks which was nice! The service was good and she communicated our food would be out in 15-20 minutes. The restaurant itself was very clean and had enough tables for us to sit at. read more
This is a great spot for comforting Korean street foods. We came on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty empty. We ordered the combo that came with the rice cake, fish cake soup, and gimbap. The order took about 20 minutes. The tteokbokki rice cakes were chewy and tasted really good with the flavorful sauce. It also came with fish cake. The fish cake soup was really comforting and also came with fish tofu. The gimbap were tasty and came with a dipping sauce that paired well with it. We also tried the sweet rice drink which wasn't that sweet and tasted like just soft brown rice with water. Overall I would come back if I was craving tteokbeoki or fish cake soup. I've tried their mung bean pancakes when they first opened and it was pretty oily but maybe I'll try it again next time. read more
After seeing Eater LA's article about must eats near Arcadia mall, I thought I'd give Soon Hee a try. Upon entering, I noticed it's an order-at-the-counter-and-pick-a-table-to-sit kind of place. The menu looked limited for it only featured a few items, but don't let that deter you! The things I ordered were so good! Fish cake soup: 10/10. The soup was light but flavorful and the fish cakes and fish tofu was delicious. This is what initially attracted me to this place. Seafood mung bean pancake: 9/10. Crispy, had large pieces of shrimp in it and it came with a soy like dipping sauce with onions. Pretty good. Gimbap (the long rolled sushi looking things): 10/10. I ordered this for my 4 year old but my husband and I ended up eating most of it because it was soooooo good! It has crunchy carrots, pickled radish, fish cake, rice, and wrapped in seaweed. The perfect snack. It also came with a pretty good wasabi inspired dipping sauce. I would definitely order this again. Overall, the ambiance was good and food was amazing. There's not much parking in the lot (we went on a Saturday afternoon and hubby had to drive around a couple times to find a spot). Note: they do have a restroom, but it's located in the kitchen which you'll have to walk through to get to. Customer service was really nice and showed us all the way inside. read more
Quickly satisfied my cravings for Korean Fried Chicken and snacks! First time it was a grand opening in Arcadia location so we got so many free samples. Good chicken at a good price! Next time I will try the pastas as well as other additional items on the menu. read more

Third time coming in and I'm finally writing a review! First of all, parking in this plaza is a total nightmare. Luckily there's some parking on the sides streets, do yourself a favor and go for those first. The first two times I came in I got the boneless chicken, third visit I got bone-in. The chicken is absolutely phenomenal! Juicy, moist, crunchy, everything you want from Korean fried chicken. I've tried several of the sauces and they are flavorful, especially the ones labeled "spicy," they're not joking. I've also gotten the fries which are delicious and well seasoned, and the daikon which is nice and sweet and goes perfectly with the spicy foods they offer. My complaints about the chicken are 1. they could be a lot saucier, they really skimp on the sauce. And 2. I really don't like the scaling of price when choosing multiple flavors. You can get 10 wings 1 flavor for $15.99 but if you want 2 different flavors you have to order 5 wings and 5 wings separately equaling $17.98 for the same amount of food, seems really silly to me. I don't understand why you can't just choose 2 flavors. I know this is common practice, bb.q does it the same way but it's always going to be a draw back and minus 1 star for me. The staff has been nice every time I've come in, friendly and attentive. My most recent trip they were very busy and there's just one person working the counter, she was working very hard and making sure everyone was well taken care of. I will definitely keep coming back to this location, it's some of the best Korean chicken I've had in the area. I hope they adjust how they do their sauces in the future, that would definitely make me come in way more often. read more
The soy garlic chicken was finger licking good! My mouth waters thinking about how good it would've been if I tried it fresh at the restaurant. I've tried many soy garlic sauces before, and this one is special! The sauce packed some unexpected heat. It was savory, sweet, and spicy. The mung bean pancake was so yummy. Street food hits in a different way! Looking forward to trying their other chicken flavors and dishes. read more

We ordered the Mayak Gimbap, Rose Teokbokki, Honey Butter, the Sauce mixed and the Spicy Chicken. I love this place and make it a point to stop here anytime I'm in LA. Ordered delivery 2 times and finally got to dine in the third time. The store is part of a plaza w/ parking lot. Very cute and small, the food always hits the spot. My top favorite dishes are : 1. Rose rice cakes 2. Mung bean pancake 3. Gimmarri (side) I've tried their chicken & fish cake soup and those are delicious also. But I can't help to always order the rose rice cakes! This time I ordered their taiyaki (fish shape pancake dessert) and they cook it to perfection, the crispy is on point and it has a wonderful chew, I think it might be mochi texture. They only have 3 flavors: red bean, cheese (savory) & chocolate. I didn't see a visible restroom, but I asked the worker and they said I could go through the kitchen and use it, it was a bit awkward to do that. But I rather have an option to use the restroom which was great because I couldn't hold it. read more

We stopped in a week ago while in town for just an hour. Cute little spot with great food and flavors. If you have never been here before I suggest you look at the menus before you come. So many good things on the menu. We had the bbq pork dish and another pork dish with rice. Both were amazing. If we lived closer we would be here all the time. The service was great and the restaurant was very clean. This place also gets an extra star for having complimentary tea. What a great touch! read more

Their chicken wings are very big, lots of meat, its bigger than the chicken wings in dominos. I ordered soy garlic and sauce mixed chicken wings. They tasted very good. You order the food at the counter and you sitted yourself. The place is bright and clean. They do close early like 8:30pm and no dine in after 8pm. I think I'm going to try their kimchi fried rice or shrimp fried rice next time. read more

On a Saturday afternoon in August, my sister and I arrived here to try Korean snacks and boneless wings. The parking lot is small so best to park on the street or next parking lot. When we arrived, there was 2 set of groups waiting for their food. The lady behind the counter was nice and took our order. They had self serve water and tea at the counter. The pork meat ball pancake was soft inside and crispy outside. It was really yummy. The fish cake Oren soup was good with long strips of fish cakes. The boneless fried chicken was fried nicely and soaked in soy garlic. Everything was really good. Nice ambiance of listening to K-pop music while eating and drinking free water and tea. read more

We came here to grab a snack while waiting for an event nearby. The service was swift and friendly. There were a lot of scrumptious items on the menu but we went with the rose tteokbokki because I've only tried the regular one but I've only seen these on Instagram so it was fun to finally try. It was as tasty as it looked! I couldn't stop! I'd definitely come back to try other items. read more
Really wanted to try this place because I was on a hunt for a tteokbokki dish. The parking lot is really small, so I would recommend street parking if possible. We ordered combo #11: Tteokbokki, Mayak, and Oden. The food was good! The place reminded me of the fast food service place, Maragume Udon. The Tteokbokki was the spicy one and it was good! It was not too spicy. The Mayak gimbap and oden were great as well! Great flavor and texture. Overall, I would recommend this place. read more

I love the snacky food this place has to offer! Parking isn't really convenient in this place as it's small but spots come and go. I was craving snacky food and this is the perfect place to go. Excellent combinations of food here. The mung bean pancake is thick and crispy. The gimbap is rolled as small little rolls and is simple and goes with the sauce well. The rose tteokbokki is amazing! It's lighter and the cheese is just right. There's so much sauce that I cooked some more rice cakes and added it in. Definitely coming again when I have tteokbokki cravings. They offer fried chicken now too so i look forward to trying that out! read more

Great place for authentic Korean bbq chicken and food. Owner was really nice, and service was great. Very nice to have a restaurant like this in Arcadia. read more
FOOD: It wasn't bad, but I think there are other Korean fried chicken places I enjoy more. - We ordered the Boneless Wings ($20.99) in two flavors: Spicy Soy & Honey Butter. The Spicy Soy was the perfect level of spice and complimented the sweet dry rub of the Honey Butter flavor. However, the fried chicken pieces were quite small with a bit too much batter. - The Seafood Shrimp Pancake ($14.99) was okay - I wish there was more seafood because it only had one shrimp per slice, and it was a bit too greasy. - Mayak gimbap ($8.99) was standard. I prefer gimbaps with meat inside so I probably wouldn't order it again, but the wasabi sauce we came with was yummy. SERVICE/AMBIANCE: This spot is located in a plaza was extremely limited parking, so you will most likely need to find off street parking. The restaurant is small, but we didn't have to wait for a weekday lunch. You place your order at the counter and they bring your food to the table. There is no restroom available for use here. OVERALL: I am not sure if I would come back, maybe if I am randomly craving it one day. It's maybe worth trying if you ever want a quick snack to munch on. read more
Love their rose tteokbokki because it's not too spicy for me! Their kimbab is good too although they are small, but I love the size because there's not too much carbs. They are located in the Plaza where mochinut and tancca are. I was overwhelmed and bought tons of stuff whenever I come to this Plaza lol. The parking is hit and miss, there's plenty parking in the Plaza, but also the visitors and the stores. read more

I was pretty disappointed. The mung beans in the bindaedduk weren't even completely blending; there were hard bits in every bite. There wasn't a real flavor to any of it, definitely on the bland side even with the sauce. Felt like the food had been sitting around too. As someone who always makes these for the whole extended fam on big Korean holidays, I know what I'm talking about, and I'm not that picky of an eater either.. but these were bad. Would have given a lower number of stars but the ddukbookki flavor was on point. Yet, I can't justify how a small bowl is $10.99. It was all sauce... enough sauce to make another batch of ddukbookki... I actually had this with my friends who went during the grand opening (and liked it so much back then that they recommended to their families) and they both noticed there was a huge change in texture and thickness, definitely not for the better. I was really looking forward to enjoying this spot because I really liked the one in S. Korea but I don't think I'll be coming back. Good thing I didn't bring my mom, she always visits the one in S. Korea and would have been more dissatisfied than I was. read more

I came here Saturday afternoon and it wasn't crowded. It only took around 10 minutes for our food to be ready after placing the order. The interior is clean and cute and there is self-serve water. Parking lot is pretty small but you can also find parking in the neighborhood streets. We ordered the seafood pancake and kimbap. The food is fresh and tasty! I really like the seafood pancake - the amount of seafood was generous. It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The staff were all so kind. They even gave each one of us a bottle of hand sanitizer as well as complimentary soup which we did not expect!! Overall I really enjoyed the food here and would definitely come back again to try everything else on their menu! read more

I heard about this place opening while I was web browsing and I was a bit excited to try. First because I did enjoy their food in Kwang Jang Market in Seoul, Korea and second because it was relatively closer from home. For the most part, I wanted to come here because Mung Bean Pancakes (MBP) is something that my mom enjoys eating. When I went, it was still their soft opening so it did not look like it was fully ready to open and it was easy to spot it too. There were so many people waiting in front of the store as well as inside, and I was a bit hesitant to go in possibly because of a long wait but I ordered 2 MBP after hearing there will be about 30 minute wait. I wanted to order some Kimbap too but it was all sold out. Well, 30 minute wait seemed like forever. I waited and waited. I dont know how their ordering system works but I saw some people who ordered after me got their orders before me. That may be possible depending on what they ordered I guess. To add, on the day I went I saw the owner's friends come by to say hi on their grand opening which is cool. What was uncool is that they did leave the store with food which I am pretty sure it was MBP because my MBP was in the same packaging as theirs when I got my order. I thought that was a bit unfair because there were so many people waiting for their food and yet the owner decided to give their friends the food in advance and make the customer wait even longer. I got my food exactly 48 minutes after I placed my order. That was not cool. There was a family who ordered way before me who got their orders after I did. I felt extremely bad for them. So how was my food? It was decent. It had a good crispy texture and was full of ingredients. It wasnt as good as the ones from Korea but it was good enough but both my mom and I agreed that it was way too salty. I had to drink so much water and dipping sauce was not needed. I didnt have to make it saltier than it already was. I dont regret coming here because I wanted to but I dont think I will be back any time soon if there is a long wait. Staff was friendly for most but definitely needs more training which I can fully understand. read more
Came here for a quick bite during lunch. They are located in a really small plaza where parking can be challenging. The shop was empty at 2:00pm. The interior is very clean and spacious. The staff were friendly. The girl at the register recommended the pork mung bean pancake so I ordered that and a fish cake soup. They also have a self serving water station with napkins. Food took about ten minutes and I was very eager to dig in! Pork mung bean pancake $12.99 - I was pretty excited for this one but unfortunately reality fell very short from the expectations. The pancake was extremely greasy and I couldn't really find any pork pieces. I found a small pink blob in the pancake... Is that it? How underwhelming. The flavor of the pancake itself was also very bland so I added some ketchup. Then it just tasted like oily ketchup pancake. Not great. After eating, I did feel sick afterwards... I suspect it may have been from the grease. Oden fishcake soup $8.99 - The soup was tasty and it came with three sticks of fish cake and I believe fish tofu? All tasted okay. I preferred that over the pancake. I probably wouldn't come back here. The price is pretty steep for what you're getting. The total of my meal was over $22 which I feel can get you better food elsewhere. Eh. read more

Are there any vegan options?
I don't think so. The bindaettok (#1) maybe, but it may be fried with the ones that contain meat and seafood.
