My first time at this location. We usually go to Rowland Heights locations. They offer few different combos and you can't really go wrong with any of it. Combo small is good for party of 2-3. We had 3 people and also ordered a side of seafood pancake! We left super full. Service and food are both excellent here! We always leave with a happy tummy!
We got the Hodong's combo and a seafood pancake for 3 people. The Hodong combo is a good portion for 2-3 people. Seafood pancake flavor was good, but could have included more seafood, and cooked to a bit more crispy. We had a few servers come by and help cook our meat. Chris was one of servers and was very attentive. It was lively on a weekend night, and full of energy in the restaurant. Ventilation was very adequate for a kbbq restaurant!
Current running special as of 05/30/26 -- BOGO Mocktails! This Korean BBQ restaurant is a great spot for a fun, interactive dining experience. The meats are fresh and well-marinated which come out tender and flavorful on the grill. The variety of side dishes adds a nice balance to the meal, and everything is constantly refilled. Service is attentive, especially when helping with grilling or refills. Overall, it's a solid place if you're looking for good food, a social vibe, and a hands-on dining experience.
One thing I really appreciate is that the servers cook the meat for you, which makes the whole experience so much more pleasant -- you can just relax, eat, and enjoy chatting with friends instead of worrying about the grill. We went on a Thursday around 6 PM and there was a bit of a line, but by 7:30 PM it was almost empty. So for weekdays, if you don't have a reservation and don't want to wait, coming after 7 PM may be a good idea. Not sure about weekends, but weekday timing definitely matters. Our favorite meat was the marinated short rib -- so juicy and flavorful, almost wagyu-like, with that melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. Definitely the highlight of the meal for us. Great food, easy experience, lively atmosphere, and perfect for a casual dinner with friends.

Would definitely come again. Service was 10/10 The beef tartar had an off taste/smell to it but if you could overlook that it wasn't too bad with pears and the egg yolk. The atmosphere is energetic and often bustling, which adds to the fun but can mean longer wait times during peak hours. They cook the meat for you so it's not a kbbq place where you cook the meat yourself so if you like that, then this place might not be for you. He cooked our meat at a slower pace and did not make us feel rushed. Meat quality was so-so; definitely had better. They cook the meat for you, which is not my preference as I prefer cooking it myself and at my pace. It is annoying that they cook the entire meat dish all at once almost forcing you to eat all of it before cooking the next meat dish. I like to eat a variety of cuts at different times and again, more at my own pace, so this style of cooking is really not for me. A lot of their meats are flavorless. It's fully dependent on the dipping sauce and salt.

The ambiance is modern & you get to hear the latest K-POP hits. What I like about this KBBQ is with the good ventilation you don't come out smelling like KBBQ. When we asked for refills on the sides, he was quick too. Ambiance is kpop in the background with sizzling of the grills. Pretty spacious considering. Sadly they were out of ribeye so we ordered brisket, beef tongue, and shortrib. All cuts were yummy, especially the shortrib.

Baekjeong is a chain and this location in Temple City is very popular. We got the small beef combo and the kimchi fried rice. That was enough food for two adults. The do take reservations so book online if you don't want to wait or go early for dinner. The banchan, cheese and corn and eggs are unlimited. Their complimentary salad is just ok. I think what sets Baekjeong apart is they cook the meats for you and their meats are slightly of better quality. I still prefer some of the better AYCE places. They do have other fun appetizers such as seafood pancake and other rice and noodles dishes such as Bimbimbop. The ambiance is noisy and frankly overly stimulating for me. Got to try Baekjeong down in Pasadena after having tried it in San Jose. Originally we were estimated a 30 minute wait at 9:30 pm on a Saturday, but thankfully we only ended up waiting 5-10 minutes. This location is much smaller, but cozier in turn. Food quality was excellent and we enjoyed everything. Only minor complaint was we never got any egg/cheese corn refills on the grill. read more

Every cut comes out perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. They also serve banchan, and my favorite is the cucumber. I also love their sauce; dipping the meats in it adds so much flavor. The combo comes with stew, and I usually get the beef brisket soybean paste stew, which is rich, hearty, and comforting. ::Drinks:: They have a good selection of soju that pairs well with the meat. ::Customer Service:: Customer service at Baekjeong truly stands out. Peter is consistently warm and welcoming, always checking in and making sure everything is going well. Martin and Chain are just as on point, staying attentive to the grill and table so nothing is ever missed. One of the best Korean BBQ restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley! The quality of the meat was excellent--fresh, flavorful, and well-marbled. The staff cooked everything perfectly and were attentive throughout the meal, making sure our grill was changed regularly and our side dishes were always refilled. The banchan, steamed egg, and kimchi were all delicious, and the atmosphere was lively and fun. Even though it can get busy, the food and service are definitely worth the wait. If you're looking for authentic Korean BBQ with premium meats and great service, I highly recommend Baekjeong Temple City. I'll definitely be coming back! read more
01/02/25 Friday Came on a Friday afternoon. It was pretty empty with a steady stream of people trickling in after we were seated. We ordered the Beef Combo and the marinated beef steak from the lunch special menu. 8/10 Beef Combo: Loved the ribeye steak and boneless marinated short rib. Brisket is nothing out of the ordinary but still tasty. Our server was nice but they cooked faster than we could keep up. I guess we should've mentioned this, but they moved so swiftly to and from our table. The eggs got rubbery at one point as it kept cooking on the grill. The brisket was burnt before we could get it off the grill. It cooks QUICK. This combo was VERY filling for 2 people. We regretted ordering the lunch special. -Kimchi stew came with the beef combo and it was WAY too salty... -Loved the tofu ban Chan. -Free refill on all side dishes and egg. 6/10 - Lunch special $18 marinated beef steak was overcooked on sizzling pan. It's drizzled with gochujang butter (which I didn't really taste) and veal Demi sauce. A little on the sweeter side. The meat was super dry and kind of tough. I personally do not recommend. All the a la carte lunch specials come with garlic rice and seasonal banchan (couldn't tell if the banchan was different than the ones offered from our beef combo though since we didn't get any extra banchan). The garlic rice wasn't bad though. I'm assuming this is a new dish since our server asked what that was and said she has never seen it before. Vent is strong so you don't smell too much when you walk out. Parking lot was full so we had to circle further away. Dined in for lunch on 1/2/26. It was only 1/3 full for a Friday. Food ordered: Beef combo small, 4/5. The beef combo was delicious! It came with 3 meats, brisket, marinated short rib and ribeye. The waiter/waitress cooks for you so that's nice, but the grill cooks fast, so sometimes it does get burnt. I do like to eat my kbbq slower because I mix my meats with all of the sides. All the meats were delicious though. The combo comes with a soup, but it is too salty. Lunch special beef, 3/5. This was interesting because the waiters and waitresses never seen this one before. The meat is precooked in a hot skillet with this sweet sauce. It comes with garlic rice which was tasty. Wait: No wait Parking: Plenty since it is a huge lot and has a underground garage Overall, it is quite expensive for an a la carte kbbq. read more

Maybe we got the lucky treatment but this is the first KBBQ restaurant I've been to where the staff will grill the meat for you?! It was an unexpected surprise and my friends and I were helped by different servers. They were very prompt on bringing out the AYCE meat, but we also ordered the brisket fried rice and there was an extra long delay between having our oil, wok set up and the rice, brisket being delivered to our table/being cooked. It was understandable since there were several other tables, but at that point we did wish we had the option to cook the food ourselves. But I'm going to reiterate the staff member at the front of the house, slim, think either Hispanic or native American, with that toby McGuire spider man 3 hair....that guy, is beyond rude, disrespectful and needs management to do some employee training on how to greet, meet and speak to customers nicely. We walk into the restaurant, wasn't condescending at all, just waiting for a table, and he gets aggressive at us, "Oh you don't need to stand so far away from me, I don't bite..." Bro we didn't even open our mouths to comment on anything.... And then in the most obnoxious way, takes us to our table with his back turned arms twisted and points at the table, "right there." Food was good as usual, service with all the other crew members consistent, but the specific staff really needs some managerial disciplinary action taken.,.just straight up rude and discriminatory....he has that, "I hate Chinese People Vibe." read more

I was craving KBBQ and decided to stop by. We ordered the small combo, and luckily the wait was only about five minutes. Food is always delicious here. Baekjong is my go to favorite for kbbq if you want a hands-off experience and excellent service. Their meat combos make it easy to order and they come out in a careful cadence so you're not overwhelmed. Theres always an interesting deal going around so make sure to ask! My husband and I really enjoy the brisket here! In our most recent visit, we got the small combo. We definitely could eat a bit more than the meat they give but it's a good portion. Our server was Vincent and he was really nice and attentive. He checked up on us pretty often and was quick at making sure our meats were cooked to our liking. We definitely want to try the beef belly next time! Our only minor issue about this place was when we checked in for our reservation via Resy. Our time slot was for 8pm. We came in at 7:50pm to check in to let them know we arrived early but are here for our 8pm and he told us to come back at 8. The way he said it came a bit strong...he told us to wait outside and come back at 8. It did seem like he was a bit stressed with the amount of people he had to sit. read more

The quality of the meat is great! I ordered Hodong's Favorite Combo (brisket, boneless short rib, pork belly, and marinated pork steak) and was very satisfied with both the taste and the portion size. The "small" combo can easily feed up to 3-4 people. I also like the variety of banchan that they serve. On the other hand, I was quite disappointed with the large intestines (daechang). I usually love daechang, but the one here was too chewy and ended up burned. It was especially disappointing given how pricey it is. I would recommend sticking to the combo, as that's where the price and quality really feel worth it. The service is overall good, though some of the workers are definitely more attentive and friendly than others. The restaurant shares a decent-sized parking lot with other businesses in the plaza, but finding parking can be difficult during lunch and dinner hours. read more

Absolutely delicious! We came at 7pm on a Saturday and the wait was less than 30 minutes. Our server, Chris, was receptive with our order and our needs for condiments like the corn cheese and egg. The food was super good and Chris cooked everything perfectly! From the ribeye to pork jowl, everything was well done! (Not food temp ) Eating area is a bit loud, but it did feel like our own small area rather than a large room when sitting side-by-side. Will definitely come back. read more

This is our second time here and it's never a bad experience. The staff is really friendly and helpful. They cook the meats to Perfection, and also recommend items on the menu. Always feel welcome and never rushed. Last time it was a really busy dinner service but this time we came during lunch time and the service was just as great. Kimchi pancake is so good as well. Unfortunately, we ate it so fast. We forgot to take a picture lol. read more
