My sister recommended this place to me! Parking - there is parking in front but honestly this plaza seems to be busy most of the time. The person in front, Alan, took my order and was super kind. He offered me water was I waited for my order. I got a 10 piece soy garlic chicken and a rose tteokbokki and mayak gimbap to go. The food was really good and the packaging was also very nice. But definitely eat it at the restaurant. The rose tteokbokki with added ramen was my favorite! It's a little hole in the wall type restaurant and its super cozy. I will definitely be back!
Came here with my brothers after we went to the mall. The restaurant wasn't crowded when we came on a Friday at around 5pm. We dined-in, and we ordered the mung bean pancake, boneless chicken with soy garlic, and half chicken with honey butter. Total was $45.27 (including tax, before tip). While waiting for our order, we were given pickled radishes and the sauce for our mung bean pancake. I really enjoyed the pickled radishes, they were nicely sweet and sour. It took around 10 mins for our order to come out. Mung bean pancake: I absolutely loved the mung bean pancake. It was my first time ever trying it, and it was so crispy and yummy. I love mung beans, so it was great. By itself, the pancake is great, but the sauce that came with it elevated it. It's also a huge portion too! Half chicken with honey butter: This was so crispy and juicy! The honey butter flavor is so unique! I do think it's a bit too sweet for me, but I enjoyed it still. Boneless with soy garlic: I enjoyed the soy garlic flavor more than the honey butter! This was very crispy and tasty too, but not as juicy as the half chicken. Overall, everything was so delicious. All of us enjoyed it! I do prefer bone-in chicken, so I'd probably just get that the next time I come here. I definitely would get the mung bean pancake again too. Highly recommend giving this place a try!
Loveeee this spot! We tried a few dishes and everything was delicious. I especially loved the cold noodles and the kimbap. Staff was also nice and helpful. The chicken though was probably my least favorite but I'd try bone in next time instead of boneless. Flavor was good though! I liked sauce mixed more than honey butter.
The food was absolutely delicious! We ordered the tofu soup, fried chicken, rice cakes, and bulgogi, and everything was amazing. The prices were very affordable, and the service was excellent! We had a great experience and will definitely be coming back. The ambiance is also very family- and kid-friendly, which is a big plus!
Great food! My kind of food! Friendly service. There are plenty of options on the menu other than fried foods. They also recently added hot tofu soup to the menu. I tried their hot tofu soup, kimbap, seafood pancakes. All tastes good!
Promised myself the last time I was here to get the army stew when it gets cold. We got an army stew, boneless bulgogi fried chicken, boneless onion sauce fried chicken and a side of fries. The army stew really hit the spot. The spiciness really creeps up on you and warms you up. The radish side really complimented to level out the heat. The boneless fried chicken is very good, just like last time. I don't remember getting sides the last time I was here. The service is very good we finished 3 of 4 of the sides before our order came out and they refilled us with a little extra.
Haven't been back to Soonheene & Twozone in a while--mainly because my friends don't share my love for that irresistible sweet-and-spicy kick in tteokbokki. They like their savory food strictly savory. But this time, I didn't compromise. I went all in on the sweet combo: tteokbokki with honey butter chicken. Truly a match made in heaven. The tteokbokki delivers that perfect balance of heat and sweetness, with the sauce clinging beautifully to each chewy rice cake. Every bite is bold, glossy, and deeply satisfying. The pickled radish on the side adds just the right touch of brightness, cutting through the richness and refreshing your palate between bites. And the honey butter chicken? It arrives hot and audibly crunchy, each piece generously coated in that addictive sweet-savory seasoning. Crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and dangerously easy to keep reaching for. This combo hits every note--spicy, sweet, crunchy, chewy, rich, and refreshing. Easily a five-star experience.
After last time we wanted to come back and try the army stew we saw one table had that time. Parking was decent, since it was a Wednesday night, it wasn't busy. We came around 6pm and it changed for dine in option, a server was available this time to give us menus, take our orders at the table and provided banchan (side dishes) for us as well as water. There was a few other tables with us and the place still looks the same. I also noticed a QR code on the table which we didn't use but may be to help streamline ordering in case a server was too busy. The banchan is refillable upon request which we did ask and it was received! I am super happy to see fishcake, picked radish cubes, kimchi, and stir fried julienne potato. Here is what we got: An order of two boneless fired chicken (bulgogi and onion sauce, $3.50 extra for onion and it was worth it in my opinion!). Onion sauce was a nice creamy mild sauce over the chicken and slightly cooling effect to counter the spicy army stew. The bulgogi sauce was slightly spicy and sweet, since it was slightly spicy to my son, and he didn't want to try the onion one, we asked the server to add in a side of fries my son might not eat the chicken. The army stew spicy level cannot be modified and yes it was a little too spicy for me but I ate it well with chicken and fries. It came with a bowl of rice and fried egg on top. We didn't ask for more rice as there was plenty of food. I did enjoy the cheese covered spam slices, mini sausages, and fish cake in the stew, I didn't eat much of the noodles given how spicy it was. Once we finished eating we asked for a check and a to go box, the server was handling the tables by herself and was very attentive to us so she did a wonderful job. Overall, super happy I came back. We plan to com back to try their pancakes and tofu soup!
A small but cozy place that serves delicious Korean comfort food! Perfect for a cold wintery night as it is now! I came here with a friend on a weekday night where there wasn't a lot of people, and my friend and I chose our own table. This is a self-serve style restaurant in which you get up and order at the counter, and you can grab complimentary drinks (tea and/or water). You then pick up your food once it is called. We ordered the rose tteokbokki + oden fishcake soup combo and kimchi pancakes. The rose tteokbokki was creamy and delicious, the pancake was amazingly crispy, and the oden fishcake was the perfect texture! I am definitely coming back to try this place again! I am looking forward to trying the mayak and donkatsu.
This a little hole in the wall mom n pop run by original owners which is right in my wheelhouse as far as eating establishments go. You always get the best service and nearly home cooking with this kind of restaurant. We had the Donkatsu, soy garlic wings and ramen soup with udon noodles. All were so delicious! I suspect their whole menu is just as delicious! Yumi, the owner and server is the sweetest lady and takes a lot of pride in her business. Give this restaurant a try. You won't regret it!
For authentic Korean street food, this is the place to go. Soonheene is a self-service restaurant, where you order at the counter and grab your own beverages (regular water, lemon water, or tea). My husband and I like to order the Tteokbokki + Mayak + Oden combo. These 3 dishes are all must-try Korean street-food classics. Tteokbokki: This was a bit spicier than my preference, but I still found it to be delicious. The employee did not ask what spice level I wanted, so I am uncertain whether I had the regular or spicy one. The portion was huge with lots of rice cakes and fish cakes. Mayak Gimbap: These are bite-sized seaweed rolls filled with rice, fish cake, pickled radish, and carrots. The dish is fairly simple, yet the gimbap is so addicting to eat. It comes with some sauce on the side. However, I think the gimbap is already super flavorful without any sauce. Oden: A bowl of very tasty fish cake soup. It comes with 3 big fish cake skewers. The fish cake is nice and chewy, while the broth is light and savory. This is great to eat alongside some spicy food like tteokbokki. There is a decent amount of tables and seating inside. The parking lot is shared with a few other businesses. Although it can get busy during peak hours, I have never had any difficulty finding a parking spot.
Omg, the rose tteokdokki is SO yummy here that I had to write a review for just for it. This place takes the iconic sweet spicy sauce and f it into a velvety and spicy cream sauce combined with meaty flavoring of smoky bacon and Vienna sausages, it nearly Carbonara! While the rose tteokdokki is certainly a must, the other dishes are equally deserving of mention, particularly their fried chicken. We got the soy garlic which is a wet sauce but it still came out crispy. Service was good; there was a young guy running the front who was really nice and attentive. I def will come back
Came here this past Wednesday with my parents after hearing great things from a friend about Soonheene and Twozone Chicken. Soonheene actually started in Seoul's famous Gwangjang Market where they were known for their pancakes, so I was excited to check it out. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by Esther (the owner) and her daughter. They both went out of their way to explain the menu and answer all my questions with genuine smiles. That kind of hospitality really sets the tone for a meal. We ordered the Pork Mungbean Pancake, Rose Tteokbokki (creamy rice cakes with fish cake and sausage), Bibim-Naengmyeon (spicy cold buckwheat noodles), and a whole fried chicken split into two flavors. Everything we ordered was delicious and tasty. For half the chicken, I went with the original but added green onion and their special oriental sauce drizzle. The other half was spicy soy garlic. I'll admit, I liked the original better. I second-guessed myself when the owner's daughter mentioned soy garlic was their number one most popular flavor followed by honey butter, but I thought I would be different and try the spicy version. The spice kind of drowned out that garlicky soy flavor, so lesson learned. Next time I am going straight for the soy garlic and honey butter combo. For drinks, we tried the Korean coffee and cold yuzu drink, both refreshing and a nice complement to the food. By the end of the meal, everything was so good that I even found myself asking about catering their chicken for future events. The vibe inside is really comfortable with soft K-pop playing in the background. It is just enough for atmosphere but not too loud, so you can talk easily. The only tricky part is parking since it is in a busy plaza with a lot of other restaurants, but at least it is free. Overall, this was one of the most unique dining experiences we have had recently, made extra special by Esther and her daughter's hospitality. I love supporting family-owned spots like this, and I will definitely be back to try that famous soy garlic and honey butter chicken next time.

I drove 2 hours for this Rose Tteokbokki and it is sooooi worth it! The rice cakes are so fresh and soft! It is just the right amount of spice and cheesiness read more
Came here for a quick bite during lunch. They are located in a really small plaza where parking can be challenging. The shop was empty at 2:00pm. The interior is very clean and spacious. The staff were friendly. The girl at the register recommended the pork mung bean pancake so I ordered that and a fish cake soup. They also have a self serving water station with napkins. Food took about ten minutes and I was very eager to dig in! Pork mung bean pancake $12.99 - I was pretty excited for this one but unfortunately reality fell very short from the expectations. The pancake was extremely greasy and I couldn't really find any pork pieces. I found a small pink blob in the pancake... Is that it? How underwhelming. The flavor of the pancake itself was also very bland so I added some ketchup. Then it just tasted like oily ketchup pancake. Not great. After eating, I did feel sick afterwards... I suspect it may have been from the grease. Oden fishcake soup $8.99 - The soup was tasty and it came with three sticks of fish cake and I believe fish tofu? All tasted okay. I preferred that over the pancake. I probably wouldn't come back here. The price is pretty steep for what you're getting. The total of my meal was over $22 which I feel can get you better food elsewhere. Eh. read more

Soon Hee Ga recently opened in Arcadia and they carry Korean street food! I called in my order for take out and my order was packed and ready to go when I arrived. The highlight is definitely the Mayak Gimbap! The kimbap were all very delicious and the sauce added the perfect amount of flavors to it. Definitely order this! I also recommend trying their mung bean pancakes. The seafood mung bean pancake was delicious and very crispy. Pour the sauce on it for extra flavor! The tteokbokki was tasty as usual and definitely spicy if you choose hot. Order this if you're craving it, but it's definitely something you can get at other Korean restaurants, so it isn't anything special. Overall, a solid spot for Korean street food in the SGV. read more
I went on the first day of soft opening and I had their pork meatball pancakes. The savory pancake was crispy on the outside and on the thick side. The sauce it came with went really well with the pancake. The sauce is spicy and a little sweet. I thought all together it was delicious! I went back 3 days later to try their oden fish cake soup. The soup is laden with MSG. I was very thirsty afterwards. There were only 2 types of fish cakes. I would have liked more variety and also maybe some vegetables like daikon in my soup. Parking is a challenge in this popular plaza. There are about 5 tables inside the restaurant and it is open for indoor dining. This to me is more of a grab-n-go snack place perfect for a picnic or outdoor movie. I would order the pancakes again and try the gimbap (Korean Sushi/ hand roll) but skip the soup. read more
A taste of Seoul street food in SGV! Yes the price is a bit steep here, it is just the same as paying for an item at the 626 Night Market, but with-OUT actually going to a night market in Asia. That's why we feel the nostalgia of traveling to Asia or when visiting our home country. I found out about SHG through the grand opening announcement on FB's SGV eat. They had a great promo of a free dalgona candy with purchase. Squid Game anyone? I've visited twice so far and got the same items both times. #3 Pork Mung Bean Pancake $12.99 #4 Pork Meatball Pancake $9.99 Both of these reminds me of the homemade Canto steam pork dish, however this is better because it's crunchy outside! It also comes with an onion vinegar sauce you can dip in. $6 Gimbap 8 pcs $8.99 - I like how these are skinny long ones vs the round ones they sell at H-mart. The crunchy and sweet yellow pickle and carrots tastes delicious! #7 Oden Fishcake soup $8.99 - you get 3 sticks of fish cake/tofu in a delicious warm broth. Add pepper to taste. Even though I'm a bit sad that it took over Taipan's Bakery old spot, Soon Hee Ga is a great addition of SGV. Now if someone can open a bingsoo dessert place next door that would be even better! read more

3.5 stars for food but have to knock my rating down due to bad business practices!! Food: Seafood Mung bean pancake - super crispy even after it sat in the car for 5 minutes Kimbap - I like the ones they sell at hmart better. Wish it had more fish cake. The seaweed was also a bit soggy So Soon Hee Ga ran a promotion on their Instagram where if you tagged someone, they DM'ed you a free teokbokki with purchase coupon. The coupon clearly stated that it was valid through 10/31 but when I visited the store on 10/19, they said that they stopped accepting this. False advertising and bad business practices to do a bait and switch! I feel like they did this to get more Instagram followers and customers in the door but randomly decided they didn't want to honor it anymore. Kinda shady and since I definitely rather support honest businesses, I likely won't be back. Parking is bad in this plaza so I would go on a weekday if you can! You can also park on the residential streets and walk over. read more

Perfect for a party! Ordered 20pc original and 10pc soy garlic. Both were really good and solid Korean fried chicken for SGV. Definitely recommend calling in to order vs ordering pickup thru Yelp - Calling in the same order saved me $15 ($48 vs $63) read more
This place is so bomb. Delicious food and so umami. I got their rose tteokbokki and it's like a cheesy flavorful dish. The fish cake and it's soup is so refreshing. Gimbap with its wasabi sauce is also great. Soy garlic sauce fried chicken was so light yet deep with flavor. This place is such a hole in the wall and I would definitely come back for the pancakes. read more
Sooo yummy!! Been wanting to stop by since they opened, but barely found the chance to now. The rosé tteokbokki was deee-lish! Super creamy and flavorful, and very filling. It had bacon bits and little sausages, along with tteok (of course) and green onions. The best dish of the day, although everything was great. The mayak kimbap would've been a lot better if it was warm but it didn't seem very fresh. We also ordered the 5pc soy garlic wings which were good but next time I would try another flavor just because I felt it needed some heat to kick it up a notch. The oden soup is also very flavorful and loaded with fish cake. Yum!! read more

The restaurant is located in a small plaza off Baldwin. There is a small parking lot but on a weekday night I didn't have trouble finding parking. Store is currently in soft opening. I ordered the gimbap, oden fishcake soup and the sweet rice drink. The gimbap is different from what I've had elsewhere. Here they give you a dipping sauce which had a slight wasabe taste to it. It was good! I thought the oden soup was a bit on the salty side and nothing too special. The rice drink was quite refreshing and not too sweet. The restaurant is quite spacious and clean. You can dine in but I ordered for takeout. Staff was very nice. read more

Order delivery service. The portion were very generous, enough for the next day. The seafood Mung bean pancake was stuff with shrimp, my son kept asking for more. Everything came with sauce for dipping. Everything was good!! The gimbap, pancake, tteokboki, and boneless chicken Orginal flavor. We added ramen to the tteokboki, would recommend them to separately package that on to go orders because it was all soggy when we go the order. The chicken came crispy and so did the mung bean pancake, because they knew to cut vent holes in the box !!!! Very favorable and tasty, will come and try dine in. Can't wait !! read more

I came here during the 4th of July and was so happy they were open! Although the interior says twozone, this place gives me mom and pop shop vibes! We came here starving and flustered on what to order. We opted for 2 of the 10 pc wings. Soy garlic was delicious and had the perfect amount of sauce without being soggy. The soy spice was also delicious, not too hot but had a great kick. We also got the #12 combo. I'm a big fan of tteokbokki and opted in for ramen additional. It was delicious! The mayak kimbap was also delicious. The sauce had a great horseradish kick. Tip: order ahead for to go. We did wait for a little bit as we had a long order. HOWEVER, I got a look at the inside as I went to the restaurant and can vouch that they make everything to order. The kitchen was clean, sanitary, and I could tell that their food is quality. Would come back! read more

Cute little spot for Korean street foods! I got the kayak gimbap (Korean style sushi essentially with fish cake) and it came with a wasabi vinaigrette as a dipping sauce. This was soooo tasty and I'm a huge fan! I wanted something light for lunch and this was the perfect snack! Service was great - ordered and got my food in less than a minute. I parked at the 5 minute parking spots and I felt like I didn't even need 5 minutes to pop in. Definitely coming back to try their tteobokki and twozone chicken. The photos look amazing! read more

My local Korean friend chicken place. I'm a big fan of their honey butter chicken, it's sweet just like me. The service is fine you get your own water . They have hot water which is a big plus for me . I like drinking hot water most of the time. The ambiance is a nice small cozy feeling. The chicken does take a while to cook but that's fine with me . It's not my go to place if I'm in a rush anyways. Prices are reasonable I think . read more

Perfectly cooked chicken. I opted for the plain chicken wings. Crispy crunchy. Moist and just the right about of flavor. The taiyaki crispy outer shell with a chewy center and generous filling of Nutella or red bean. It will get soggy if you leave it in a bag. read more

Came here for dinner! Its located in the opus sushi plaza and seems like there was a lot of overflow when we were there. The parking lot is small, consider street parking on the side. The food itself was pretty tasty. It's a combo restaurant of street food and another place that does fried chicken. We ordered the chicken with 1 sauce and ordered an extra one also. The dry sauce, I no longer remember the name is a hard pass for me. I much preferred it just plain. The dubboki was fully cooked and chewy! Ambiance there were some families there, but mostly small tables. Order up front and they bring it to your table, but you bus it back yourself. read more

Fast and fresh! Wanted a quick snack after work so I ordered their Gimbap to-go. Loved the sauce that it comes with (tasted like rice vinegar and wasabi). Staff was super friendly and the order came out in less than 5 mins. Will definitely be back to try some other items :) read more

I came here after gym. The service was exceptional, i believe this is a mom n pop shop. The seafood pancake was very thick and it was crispy had an amazing crunch, however it cannot be considered a 'seafood' pancake when it only had shrimp nothing else. Its only a shrimp pancake. The mayak is very light, I enjoyed eating this as a snack if I didn't want something heavy. The spicy rose tteokbokki was not as floral as I anticipated. It was rather sweet than spicy. It has bits of bacon inside. Overall I prefer my tteokbokki to not be sweet. But this may just be how they make their sauce. That's a personal preference. Overall, Id still recommend this place to others for a quick snack. read more

Everything was so good! This is probably my new favorite place for Korean fried chicken & tteokbokki. The tteokbokki is perfectly chewy and the sauce definitely packs some heat. The wasabi dipping sauce with the Mayak gimbap was a surprisingly delicious combo. Although I'd like for the batter to be just a little bit thinner, the chicken is super crunchy & flavorful. Definitely will be coming back here soon! read more

Other day I was in Arcadia for work and I was craving some Korean barbecue kimchi fried rice. I stopped in here and ordered the kimchi fried rice, barbecue ribs, and a few other items with my friend. They are known from the netflix show displaying the mung bean pancake from korea. Of course i had to try it and it didnt dissappoint. It was thick crispy and full of flavor and great with the sauce. Was craving for some korean fried chicken and found this place. I wanted to try somewhere new besides BBQ Chicken in Alhambra and this place caught my attention because of the rose tteokkbokki and omg this place is amazing! The tteokkbokki is so good! Nice, chewy, and bouncy. Plenty of fish cake and they even added in tiny hot dogs/sausages, so you get the meaty taste in the sauce! You can always add in ramen to make rabokki. I ended up taking my leftover sauce home with me. As for the fried chicken, we tried their yangnyeom (sweet and spicy) and their wasabi whole fried chicken. When you order a whole chicken, you can choose 2 sauces. I think you can order 2 sauces as well for half a chicken, but I cant recall. Their chicken was bomb! Crispy and juicy! Their yangnyeom sauce was my favorite! The wasabi--not so much. I give credit to them since it was a new twist to your normal korean fried chicken sauces. If you love to eat a lot of wasabi, then this sauce is for you. Also, a whole chicken is perfect for 4-5 people! We ordered a whole chicken for 3 and ended up with lots of leftover! I can't wait to come back! Parking is a bit hard in this plaza. read more

Honestly I don't know what the hype is for this place. The chicken is not chicken wings. It pieces of chicken but was disappointing. I know you're thinking you irderedbitnsinyou must know it's not wings. Well I was lucky enough to have friends buy dinner for me while I wasn't feeling well. They are so sweet!! I appreciate them so much. They thought I would enjoy this place. The chicken was okay it wasn't crispy. The soy garlic and spicy soy garlic were both okay. The mini vegetable sushi like rolls were the best thing about the meal. The kim chee fried rice I didn't try but the kids liked it. The mung bean seafood was okay with one shrimp in it. The pork mung bean was better for all of us. This place looks like a lot of money and I don't know if I would go. It was good but I like bb.q chicken much better. read more
The shop is a double korean store that is soonheene and Twozone in one. It is located in a decent size plaza with ample parking spaces. I came for the twozone grand opening with their free chicken tastings! Staff were super nice and allowed you to try all the wet sauces! All were bomb but my favorite was hot and spicy! The chicken was so crispy and juicy! The hot and spicy sauce actually has a kick and sweetness to it and their seasoned fries were hot and fresh! Definitely coming back to try their honey butter flavor which is a dry rub but sounds amazing! read more

SIMPLY 5/5. GOOD FOOD AND GOOD SERVICE! I recent went here yesterday 10/31/22 and was greeting warmly by staff. The ttebokki was soft and not too spicy. The odeng or fishcake soup was an amazing pair. It had a little peppery kick which was different but nice. This was my first time eating mayak kimpab and it reached my absolute expectations. If you are around the area you definitely have to give this place a try! Excited to come again soon:) read more

Wow! There's more than what meets the eye. It is a small store in a small complex, so it's easy to miss. But I was really excited to try this place since I like mung bean pancakes and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Soonheene's menu is Korean Street Food. It's a small menu, but great choices in the essentials. Can it be a full meal? Sure! Can it be snack food? Sure! It all depends on the mood, like how hungry you are, how much you order etc. Remember the menu is very limited so choose wisely. I went with my parents for lunch. Here's what we got. - Seafood Mung Bean Pancake: preface, not a huge seafood person, but my parents are. I will admit, it was delicious! The parts of the pancake I did eat were super crispy and had a very nice texture. It also had a generous amount of seafood, which my parents thoroughly enjoyed. - Combo #9 Tteokbokki & Kayak Gimbap: for our first time, I thought this was the smart choice because we were trying things out. Tteokbokki was nice & spicy. And it was just the right amount too. It was just the right amount of spice where I felt the heat but was not dying from it. The Kayak Gimbap was a lot thinner and smaller than I thought. However, it was still packed with a lot of flavor. Their sauce was good too. Note in "combo" form, you get 6 pieces vs. the 8 pieces a la carte. I was thoroughly impressed with this. I could've eaten it a la carte as a meal. I think next time, I would've gotten each item à la carte. The price difference between combo & a la carte was minimal that it's worth it just to order separate Overall a great solid place! A simple menu, delicious food, perfect for a snack or a meal. Definitely check this place out if you enjoy Korean Street Food. read more
