I visited the Sonora Quest lab at 155 E Warner after my doctor recommended tests, a location that, amusingly, isn't even listed on Yelp. I asked to schedule an appointment, but the two staff behind the counter were absorbed in their phones. One finally tossed me a card with a QR code and said, "Scan this to book." I did, and arrived for my 7:30 slot, signed in at 7:25, only to be ignored until after 8:00. The same woman who gave me the card then called to request my insurance information. I pointed out my appt time, and she said I wasn't on their schedule, and hinted that multiple people were having trouble with the booking system. Today, we had to get blood work done for my little one. We had been here before when he was an infant, and the level of care then was just the same this time around. The staff was very friendly and assisted us in comforting the little guy. If you've never been to Banner Gateway, it can be pretty confusing getting around. The lab is inside the second building behind the main hospital. You will see Canyon Springs Medical Center, and that is where the lab will be (on the 3rd floor). I took my 10-year-old in for his first blood draw this morning. We arrived around 7 a.m. without an appointment, so there was a bit of a wait--which was expected. Theresa called us back, and she was absolutely wonderful. She kept my son engaged the entire time and answered all of his questions in a way that made him feel comfortable and informed. He was pretty nervous going in, but she turned it into a really positive experience for him. I'm so grateful for her kindness and professionalism--she made what could have been a stressful situation so much easier for both of us. read more

Horrible care they have a kiosk and nobody is at the counter to answer questions when you can't find the appointment in there poor quality system. If you can find a person they say they'll check and just walk away. At least a third of the time the system doesn't show your appointment. Adding to the overall bad service they are rude and basically blame it on you. This is a company I wish you could give negative numbers to! read more

I am a patient of Banner and have gone there many years to get blood tests. As long as you have a Banner Primary Dr. Recently Sonora denied me getting a cholesterol test sent by my cardio dr. The reason they denied me is they say they can no longer accept an outside script. There wasn't even one patient waiting there. This decision will cost them dearly as they are turning away patients. These tests are paid for by my Medicare plan so the denial to make me go elsewhere makes no sense. I contacted my primary at Banner who apologized to me and called in the script from him. I wonder what intelligent person decided to deny patients? No common sense. I'm talking about the Sonora Quest inside the Banner Building on Warner and Gilbert rd next to the gym. I've been to a lot of labs throughout my life and this place has terrible service. This location is located in a large medical building and you have to figure out your way to the correct floor and suite. Once you get off the elevator, there are no signs to direct you to the Sonora Quest. You just have to walk up and down the hallways and figure out the suite numbers for yourself. Once inside, the waiting room is large enough and clean. Once taken into the back, it took a good 20 minutes just for the phlebotomist to enter my information into their computer system. She put on gloves and left the room multiple times, chatting with others who worked there. She was touching multiple surfaces and objects and then took my blood without changing the gloves or washing her hands! She wiped my arm with an alcohol swab and then used a piece of gauze to wipe over the damp alcohol to dry the area before proceeding to insert the needle. This is what not to do 101 when taking a blood sample. Very questionable practices here. I will not be coming here again! read more

After waiting for an hour as a walk in an finally making it to #1 in line, a nurse came out and told the waiting room they weren't going to see any walk ins because they were behind with appointments. This is my second terrible experience here. They allow for walk ins, but they're always so behind with appointments that when later appointments come in, they bump them in line ahead of you. You wait for over an hour if not hours regardless of what time of day you come in. Even if there's only 4 people ahead of you in line. No front desk people ever there to communicate with either. Then today they just send half the waiting room home? Awful. read more

It's crazy that not a single person working here knows what they are doing. My technician had to ask several different people for help and none of them knew any answers to simple procedures. Staff also is insanely rude; while she struggled to understand the simple lab order I provided she wouldn't answer any of my questions and made me leave the room so they could use the bed for someone else. I also watched a technician blatantly ignore an older woman who needed help checking in on the (very confusing and honestly lazy) kiosk. Facility is dirty and hard to find anyways. I have been calling this office for a month trying to speak to someone prior to scheduling an appointment. Nobody answers the phone, nor returns phone calls. I called about 10 other locations and finally spoke to someone. She told me the policy for drawing blood from a 1-year-old is via foot prick (under 2 years-old). According to that information, I scheduled an appointment for my son. Upon arriving to this location, the phlebotomist confirms they don't have staff answering phones and informs me the policy is actually via foot prick only under 1-year-old. If somebody answered my phone call a month ago, I could have gotten my son in and been comfortable with their method for blood draw, but now he is past their policy timeline and required to "get help" from other techs to draw blood from my sons arm. I said NOPE, not happening. Corporate will be getting an email from me. I won't hold my breath for a response. read more

Last week my grandparents went to take my brother to get his blood draw. My grandma was entering with him and as soon as she was going she got the door shut on her and wasn't let in. Have to deduct two stars. Our tech was very rough compared to our previous experiences here. We both had the same girl, it hurt with both of us, and two hours later I'm still seeping blood from the needle poke. The packing she put on had a lot more blood than usual. We noted that it hurt going in, and then it hurt coming out. Usually taking it out doesn't hurt. Disappointing. read more

I can only speak to my experience and the specific location I visited (2940 E Banner Gateway Dr #325, Gilbert, AZ 85234). I was a little hesiatant to try them intially because the reviews were not the best. Now some reviews are a little subjective but some appear very valid with general concerns/complaints. I prayed before I went to this office (both times) as I firmly believe there is power in prayer! I have now went twice and my experience both times was EXCELLENT!!! No billing issues. The lab technicians were friendly, were able to draw blood from one stick and the process for check-in was extremely efficient. I am a pretty patient customer as I know there can be staffing shortages, etc. Some customers can be entitled and impatient and unfortunately, you can get the same energy you put out. A little patience and courtesy go a long way! The last tech who I worked with (Shanna) was so sweet and professional. She was not only checking patients in, she jumped in to help draw blood because there were a number of patients in the waiting room. She got my vein on the first stick and I was on my way in no time. I have been using Sonora Quest for the last 10 years. This is what I found, 1. Create an online account. You can then schedule appointments and also get your lab results online, 2. Always carry a copy of your doctor's lab with you. Do not rely on the Drs office faxes. 3. On Sept 6th, I checked in the provided kiosk at 2pm for my 2pm appt. At 2:30 p.m., I was still sitting. I asked the receptionist when it was my turn. She said I never checked in. She checked me in and told me I was next. Two people were called back, and I still sat there. I went back up to complain and to my surprise no one was there. Finally, after I was LOUD, I was taken back at 3pm. The part that bothered me was not one front staff member cared. Apparently, my time does not matter. Ah, the lab that never seems to impress. As necessary evils go, lab work is a routine experienced by all. And no fun by any means. Previous locations were less than stellar, so I too (like others that have reviewed) figured trying a new location might make a difference. Rather, today's visit further confirmed how skewed marketing impacts their customer service. Having made an appointment weeks in advance, I arrive on time to sign in. Upon arrival, I inform the receptionist that the doctor asked me to inform them that the labs were "time sensitive." The receptionist grabbed my lab work order, looked it over, scoffed and said, "nothing time sensitive here." Interesting that Sonora Quest empowers their receptionists to overrule doctor requests and not even check with a technician). I was then instructed to wait. And wait I did. Over forty minutes later I was finally seen. The experienced lab technician, with multiple accolades on the lab room walls, failed to collect all blood on first draw, so now on to arm number two for added inconvenience! Not to harp on what seems to be a pattern seen by others that if you ask about anything you are relegated to the back of the line, but the couple that came in 5 minutes before I was finally called managed to walk out with me to the parking lot at the same time. Guess their lab work was really "time-sensitive" and promptly rushed. Anyway, that is the kind of service you can expect when the company focuses their marketing on getting doctors to issue lab orders on their forms instead of the competition. Thereby leaving out the patient as us poor saps must put up with it. Though a little secret seems to be, if you have a lab script, you can take it to any laboratory (check to make sure your insurance works with them) and they will be happy to provide the service. I've called over 10 times and have left 2 voicemails to confirm results were sent to the appropriate Dr offices after my dad's appointment. I've still received no response back. All calls have been during normal business hours. In office, they tell you to check in on an iPad and hardly look away from their computer. My dad hates bloodwork but has to have it done often, and he said the staff in the back was very kind and the process was pretty painless. 3 stars as this experience (including the lack of response from their front office staff) is pretty average for every sonora quest we've been to. read more

I'll start by saying I hate having my blood drawn because I get a vasovagal response every time I go. The tech here was awesome, understanding, and accommodating of my situation. She was amazing. I wish I got her name but was a little out of it after the draw. The wait time was kind of a pain my appt was at 115 and I didn't get drawn until 150 but that was because my doctor had so many tests to input. Other than that this location was great I'll go back for future tests and hopefully the same tech will be there! read more

My one experience here was great! Super nice staff. I had prepaid for a blood test online and went here instead of the walk-in office down the road by mistake, but they still worked me in for the sampling. No issues, super fast, super easy! This is a great location. Good parking and appointments are right on schedule. The staff at the desk are very considerate and understanding to the people coming in. This morning I heard the staff member working the front desk explain to an older gentleman how they work on appointments which he didn't have but he is welcome to wait and see if someone cancels or doesn't show. She was incredibly kind and patient with him and explained it until he understood how long he might be waiting. My blood draw went off without a hitch. The tech that helped me Gill was perfectly nice and courteous and quick. I was in and out of there and on my way to work. The lab technicians have always been great. Friendly, through and informative. The 3 star rating is for today. I tried to change a current lab appointment on line. Went through the procedure and gave a check mark and said appointment changed. Immediately received email confirming with old date. Tried several more times and same results. So I called and got VM saying leave message and we'll call back. So I did. Hour and a half later I left another message...still no reply. So finally got in my car and drove there. The lady behind the counter was listening to me with a "matter of fact" response when asked why nobody has returned my calls from over 2 hours ago. Gave a excuse of not staffed to return calls in a timely manner. Then when I told her about problems with there on line appointments, she said that they hear that a lot. Wondering why when you hear about a problem with your customer service why nobody takes action. I was dreading going into this location because I thought it was inside of the hospital and I would be there forever waiting to get tested. It was a little hard to find but it's in one of the complexes behind the hospital. Luckily, I was in and out in no time. The staff was super friendly. Friendly and efficient staff, the wait to get my pre-employment drug test was not long. The building can be a little difficult to find and the directions online are not helpful at all. The lab is actually located in the Canyon Springs building toward the back of the campus if you're coming in from Inverness. The facility is clean, well lit, well organized, and the employees seem well trained. read more

Long waits, I draw blood in my line of work, and this lab is very slow, shouldn't take this long. Don't seem to have many phlebotomist working, they don't seem interested in getting customers in a timely manner. They penalized me because I was late for my appointment, by making me wait for over 1 hour. I never do anything when they have brought me back late for every appointment I had in the past.
