The service was great. Awesome in fact. When I want to take my wife to a fancy restaurant, and after hours of doing her hair and makeup and putting on the matching accessories, I surprised her with a short trip to Sonic. The atmosphere and ambience of being able to eat right there, in my car, makes the journey worthwhile. But the tray was defective and it nearly fell off the car, almost ruining our big night out. What really was disappointing was the quality of the food. The tater tots were very greasy - and- way over salted. It had the potential of hardening my arteries and raising my blood pressure at the same time. The burger was smothered in ketchup and the burger patty slipped from the bun directly onto my wife's cream-colored designer dress. In fact the meat even slipped through the seat and into the back part of my pickup truck where my dog likes to sit when we go hunting. Worse still, when she went to take a drink of her lemonade, the lid wasn't on correctly, causing her to spill lemonade on top of her already stained dress. Likewise, my lemonade cup lid popped off and I spilled lemonade on my white Levi's jeans. I don't need to tell y'all what that looked like when we went out dancing. It was even worse for her. But, the good news is that all of it was cleaned - including a legacy syrup stain on my pants that happened when I sat on a pancake at the IHop. I've been to this location too many times. That's on me. The service and quality of product is just poor. Poor enough for me to add this review. The last time I stopped by, it was after 9pm on a Friday night. There were very few cars in the lot and the drive through was totally open so I just knew I'd be in and out quick. It took probably a minute+ for anyone to greet me and when they did, they just said "we'll be right with you.". I realize sh!t happens but after I ordered (just 2 milkshakes) it took so long to get the order that my wife even texted me asking if I was ok. I live 5 minutes away. As for the quality ... The past few times I've come this is location to order a blast shake, the whip and cherry I order is never added. The fill ins are just sitting on the top and the rest is just ice cream. I am not a real fan of fast food, but in this case The Lady had been watching commercials on TV since march, it was at a time when we had to get something and eat in the car. So I pulled up, we reviewed the menu (I do not use the app) and proceeded to order. For the first time ever, the food came out correctly, fast, and actually hot! I had never had my food from a Sonic meet those criteria. The server, wearing a mask but no gloves, darted in to get us some extra ketchup. Of course then The Lady really wanted more mayo and asked for that. Never arrived. The button you push was not cleaned, but we had some wipes and hard-core hand sanitizer and used that ourselves. So, it was the best Sonic I have ever been to, the food is OK, but the non wearing of gloves and having to sanitize the order button was a let down. read more

Sonic Shakes are mad good. Sonic is probably just another chain out here, as evidenced by all of the poor reviews I see, but as a New Yorker, with no Sonics in the city yet, I always love lazily pulling up to the drive in stations and getting a quick bite. This time we had just eaten two lunches and were on our way to a third, so we just got a shake, and boy was it good: it was an Oreo Peanut Butter Shake, and it was as incredible as it sounds. It's much thicker than a shake, and is practically like you are eating ice cream, like one of the Blasts. Sonic is always an awesome choice for dessert so I'm always down to drive in quickly for a very satisfying sweet snack. read more

Wow, this place was hopping this afternoon! Lots of folks in the drive-thru and the parking lanes. We chose to park and eat, and the service was fast and efficient! Food was hot and delicious, drinks were cool and refreshing; they even provided a free large ice water at our request. The server had his roller skates on his feet and a smile on his face; he was friendly and courteous. He also wiped down the touchpad/button of the order sign with disinfectant so the next folks would be protected. No bathrooms available during COVID-19 procedures, unfortunately, and the only downside of the visit. Extremely inconsistent, they'll have your order hot and right a few times. Then all of a sudden they'll have you waiting 30 mins for your order or will mess up the items given to you. Seems to turn over employees very fast, even for a fast food stop. read more

Service is always quick and they are always friendly. It's a Sonic food so we aren't expecting what we would like in a $12 burger. 1/2 price drinks 2-4 pm hits the spot without hurting the wallet. I absolutely disgusted this outing! First off they provided me with gross old fries, as they have just been sitting there forever! They smelt absolutely horrible. They were all brown and gross. I ate one and it was awful! Then they gave me some chicken. It tasted fine until I looked in it and it looked grey, there was also super gross grey juice in it. Threw it away immediately! This place couldn't get a worse review from me. My daughter got a shake recently and it had a long metal carpenters NAIL in it! It was shocking be dangerous! I called to speak with the manager on duty (Angel) and he had another manager get in touch with me, then I was sent to another manager named Aaron, then to another named Daniel who finally apologized (in writing) and assured me that the security footage would be reviewed and that he would be in touch within 24 hours. I had a generic message soon after that from a district or regional manager named Melinda Zamora. I called her back and she didn't even remember about the mail in my daughters shake! She was rude, uncaring and accused me of being wrong about who I spoke with and what they said. She would not apologize or provide any explanation about what happened. All she said is that their insurance company would be in touch with us within 72 hours and that the video footage would remain with her! I think a judge may decide differently! He was arrogant and dismissive! Sonic is not served well by her at all. She should have just apologized. Now I will be in pursuit of the truth (the video footage) and will not stop until someone is held accountable for this! Don't eat or drink anything from sonic! Anyway, Food tends to be served hot, reasonable wait times, etc. But I'm writing this now because last week I visited - and ordered a combo meal. I specifically said "No pickles" on that burger (and it was the only thing ordered aside the drink)... and the female order taker said "it doesn't come with pickles, just lettuce, tomato, mustard and mayo" I said "OK" I get home...and there's fuching Pickles in the burger! I used to lovvveeee sonic!! When I moved to California the closest sonic to me was an hour drive away so imagine my joy when I moved back home. But sadly, my body hates sonic. I don't know what happened but everytime I eat a burger from there my stomach refuses to digest it. Every time I'm pregnant and eat one of their burgers I end up puking it up a little later. When I'm not pregnant it will just sit in my stomach.... for at least 7 hours. Seriously. Anyhoo, this location is fine, just as every other one I've been too. I still love their drinks and ... We are so not a fast food family. It is only because of an affiliation with childhood and their all-too-accessible location that on a few occasions I've ignored better judgement and placed an order here. Each time, the service has been ridiculously slow, especially with the drive-through, where they don't even have to walk out and I was the customer waiting at the window! Even if it doesn't look busy, they'll find a way to make it take at least ten minutes. Recently, my husband kindly went to pick me up a shake from here, and they sent out plain vanilla, which was not what I'd ordered. He didn't realize this until he got home & handed it over, so he called & they said they'd take care of it next time. I didn't want to go back again. I strive to avoid consuming anything from here; just wanted what I ordered! So husband drives back and they don't even offer to comp the shake, and he didn't ask because we were trying to be gracious about it. Although he handled the whole interaction as politely as possible, when he came home and handed it to me, I pulled out the "cherry" on top and it was half-eaten. Not even kidding. So after not even complaining about the inconvenience or their incompetence, we were punished. My car has pulled into their fume-filled little stalls for the very last time. read more

This review was earned by the young lady working the Drive thru today at about 27 June at 1800. I stopped by for a blizzard on my way home. When the young lady took my order, she was very abrupt and rushed. I chalked it up to a bad day. However, when I pulled up to pay, I discovered the problem. She was too busy texting and looking at her iPhone. She abruptly took my money, gave me change and returned to the texting etc...recommend management review their policies. Ok...First, let me say that this Sonic is less than a mile from my home. The options are limited unless you want to drive in to Buda or Kyle...(Subway and Schlotzskys)...so I keep trying Sonic even after terrible experiences at this ONE particular location. Reading the other reviews, I see that Im not the only one...Are the franchise owner or management even aware???or care??? The problem boils down to horrible customer service, especially when you go through the drive-thru. The first time, I drove away after waiting for 10 min after I was told to "HOLD ON". I chalked that up to a freak occurrence and went back. Same thing happened although finally they did come back and without an apology for the wait I might add, was asked "what do you want?" I told them never mind-off I drive....my kids already know I wont tolerate it...and each of the first two times I drove out of the way to the Sonic in Buda off IH35. That Sonic is always great. The last time, we went after my son's soccer game...it was not busy, tons of employees(all teens with what seemed like no supervision) were busy chatting and clowning around inside (I pulled into park this time) and pressed the button to order. Long wait, then finally a less than polite announcement of "Ill be with you in a second". I should have just left at that point BUT...ITS SO CLOSE TO MY HOME-I WANT TO LIKE YOU, SONIC...I DO...so we waited..........Finally, my order was taken..We all ordered, and after we were done, my son decided he wanted a Dr. Pepper float instead of a root beer float....no biggie...it hadnt even been a minute since I ordered, Im sure they hadnt started the floats yet since there was food that needed to be prepared first....So I pushed the button and get a "yeah?" (easy, now, remember, its less than a mile to my house) "Could I please change the rb float to a Dr Pepper float?" I get a sigh like I asked her to come out and give me a friggen foot massage....so I said, "You know what, you drink it, we are outta here!!!!" Off to the other Sonic....my son now wants to go there just to see how much the employees stink... ANYHOO....if you dont mind the horrible service, by all means, have at it....I cant tell you how the food tastes as I havent eaten there, but I can tell you that if you dont mind driving an extra 6 miles, you are much better off going to the other Sonic in Buda. The drive-thru employees at this Sonic are so rude. They don't know the first thing about customer service. We frequent this Sonic (2-3 times a week) for happy hour.
