I always appreciate that since it makes it easy to try something new without committing to a whole cup. Out back, though, is where it really shines with a gorgeous courtyard and a playground that makes it easy to linger a little longer. This has been one of my favorite places to get froyo in town both because they have a good selection of rotating flavors and toppings, it's super clean, and it's relatively close. I still like going here occasionally when I want some froyo but they seem to have changed their policy recently about getting your own samples; maybe somebody misused the freedom and ruined it for everyone else but now they will get the samples for you if you want some. I went here with some friends last Friday night after dinner in Buda. My favorite froyo place is Menchie's, but this store happened to be closer and I couldn't convince my friends to go to Costco in Kyle. Parking here on Friday night is tight. There's a lot of through traffic to the nearby Best Buy and other retailers. Once you get past that, you will need to ascend a tall, steep set of stairs to reach the entrance. I'm not sure how someone in the wheelchair would get inside otherwise. What appears to be the front door with all the Orange Leaf graphics is the employee entrance. It's the plain door with only a single sign warning no public restrooms that you actually enter through. Go figure. You then walk down a length of hallway past the restrooms to get to the froyo machines and the toppings counter. Be sure to pick up a container from the stack on your left or else you'll be wondering where the cups are. A good variety of flavors is available. I combined several in my cup. I skipped the toppings because I really don't need to pay 67¢ per ounce for candy. It's about the froyo, dummy. There was only one employee on duty the night of our visit who covered the (limited) kitchen operation, the toppings, and the register. She was polite but not engaging. There were several more signs at the register for tip shaming and a diatribe about their bathroom woes. In short, due to theft and vandalism, you have to leave an ID or $5 to check out a bathroom key. There are two tall tables and exactly seven barstools chairs to go around. One of the high top tables was jammed in the corner. There's a low sofa and then several very low tables with chairs that appear to be designed for children inside. If the weather's favorable you can also sit outside on the patio. Had 109° the weather was not favorable so we stayed inside. About the froyo: I tried the New York cheesecake, pistachio, chocolate, and birthday cake. I found everything except the birthday cake to be rather bland. Clearly Orange Leaf don't have the selection of Menchie's, nor their recipes. The total for two cups of yogurt as weighed was $14.07. That's knocking on the door of buying two gallons of Blue Bell, not a good value. If I had to do it all over again and was not with others, I'd go over to Sam's Club and get their frozen soft serve cup for $1 plus tax. Sam's may not have the ambience (?), but they do have better flavor, more comfortable seating--and for the price difference--I'd be a lot happier there. Seems to me like Orange Leaf needs to turn over a new leaf. First of all, get rid of the signs. Even if you're not a combatant in their restroom wars, the signs seem unfriendly. Get rid of the cutesy orange and yellow seating and put in real adult tables and chairs; I don't want to stand around to eat my yogurt. I'm rounding up to three stars because froyo should make you happy. It kind of did that night but I had to believe. Then again, froyo shouldn't be this hard. read more

I wanted frozen yogurt and I'm glad we went. I remember frozen yogurt being this really big thing a couple years ago and it seems like it is having a resurgence. But anyways. They had a wide variety of the frozen yogurt base. I picked birthday cake and then went W I L D with the toppings. They had everything even. Mochi balls and it was DELISH. I believe the price was fair and ours came to about 12oz each the total was $17ish so I think it seemed fair. They have high tables and low tables to sit at but we decided outside was the way to go. read more

Nice little spot to cool off. My daughter got the vanilla and strawberry yogurt with gummy bears on top. I got the pistachio and oreo yogurt with oreos on top. All delicious but it tasted the best when we got a little of all 4 flavors on there, at least that's what we thought the staff was friendly, they made the experience fun for my daughter. Really disappointing. I went here today after seeing that the boba line next door was super long and I didn't want to stand near people during these times. I love frozen yogurt though and hadn't been in a while so figured I would try this place. I got a cherry lime swirl flavor and as soon as I got it, it was melted (the employees are currently serving it themselves and handing it to you as a safety precaution, which I do appreciate). I paid $7 for the half cup of yogurt and walked away but notice it was already melting. I went back and let them know and they said something like "it's supposed to be that way". I doubted myself and just left. First thing my husband said was "why is it melted?". Two mins later it was just beyond gross and I had to throw it away. Waste of money and time. read more

Lauren (staff member with pink hair) was just wonderful yesterday. It was so hawt in the evening that we needed a little something. Apparently, so did others, because there were like 8 people ahead of me when I went in. I liked the non-dairy orange yo the best. We also tried the chocolate. It was great. I also really like that the spoons resemble little orange shovels. It was a nice touch and interesting effort for whoever orders those! :) I like that Lauren went with me to sample flavors. She said she had to do that with everyone for sanitation reasons. Made total sense to me, because most places let you do that yourself-but that may not be the best idea, now that I think of it. Finally made it to this orange leaf froyo place. They have a clean environment, orange and white decor. Wide selection of frozen yogurt flavors, with also a ride variety of fruits and chocolate, candy type of toppings. They had cold and also hot syrups to drizzle finishing touches. The girl at the counter, also the helper, squeezed some samples for us, very friendly and nice. Definitely a nice touch for South park shopping to add a frozen yogurt spot, it was about time. it is close to Amy's ice cream another lovely place, we will come back soon. What's with fro yo places having way cool, ultra modern interiors? Seriously. I'm not complaining because I really enjoyed this trip to Orange Leaf. Lauren (hot pink hair, sweet girl) was very helpful and friendly. I've never had someone GIVE me samples, so I didn't like that, but it wasn't a huge deal. My boyfriend and I ended up splitting a cup of half cookies and cream, half cotton candy. Both of which are flavors that never sound good to me, because they sound sticky sweet and make me think of cavities, but they were actually very good, mild, and complemented each other really well. THEN THE FUN PART! I added a few strawberries, yogurt chips, two cookie dough balls, mochi, a small swirl of condensed milk, and finally, multi-colored sprinkles. Lauren told me I should be a frozen yogurt designer. I would love to share my creation with you guys, but my boyfriend dove right in, so it didn't look as pretty after the first part. They have dairy free, fat free, and sugar free options that are clearly marked in case you need those options. Truthfully, the toppings aren't as expansive as The Yogurt Spot or Yogurtland, but unless you have very specific taste, that shouldn't be a deterrent. Since we're going to be in Southpark Meadows a lot now, thanks to PhoNatic, we'll definitely be back at Orange Leaf! read more

My impression after 3 visits: Yogurt flavors are hit or miss....some are have chemical-y flavors and others are overly sweet. Some toppings, like the cheesecake and mochi, are large, clumpy messes. Prices area a bit higher than competitors. Staff members are young and immature, and spend a lot of time socializing with visiting friends and lounging on the furniture. The presence of a grown-up, preferably an owner, might improve the customer experience. read more

The selection and presentation is nice and has good variety but the employees is another story. I kid you not every time we go in there the employees seem as if they are miserable. Does it hurt to smile and have conversations? After all this is a place that attracts children. I would think they would def need to have a happy and bubbly personality to work here but they just stand there with their arms crossed and just bored. read more

So they decided to work on service here, installing a "sample cup dispenser guy" near the machines. Helpful, I suppose. There were plenty of flavors, although I'm still scratching my head over the "dairy-free" pineapple. At. A Yogurt. Shop. However, they problem just morphed over into the toppings. To say the fresh toppings were abysmal is an understatement. There were two trays of cut strawberries, some mushy pineapple, maraschino cherries and not much else I remember. There were tons of candies, but things like mochi -- the holy grail of toppings -- the mochi was clumped together, semi-frozen and chewy like little white Now-and-Laters. Unfortunately, it's got a captive audience in Southpark. Time for competitors to come in and show 'em how it's done. read more

Tried this one out today and it was very good. I had the cheesecake froyo with strawberries (they know how everyone loves the strawberries and had 2 bins of it ready for scooping), reese's pieces, and a few pieces of brownie. Not a brownie they had baked though - one that was store bought. Normally this would influence my review negatively, but the store bought brownie pieces were from Little Debbie's Cosmic Brownies with candy pieces. This immediately brought me back to my childhood upon munching into them and I couldn't have been happier. The employee working was very helpful and gave us a frequent buyer's card of some sort (which I'm sure we will be using and slowly expanding our waistlines). Always taking away 1 star for froyo places that don't provide the best topping there is: Fruity Pebbles cereal. The lack of "The Pebbles" can almost be overlooked since they had a heated butterscotch topping. Tons of seating and a very clean place. read more

The basics: clean but not sparkling and definitely in need to some touch up paint in areas. The yogurt selection was awesome and we were impressed with the dividers for flavor options - however, most of the machines seemed to be a little runny. Exceptional selection of toppings and this area was cleaner than others I've seen - except the toppings were pretty clumped in their containers. The service was average but the young guy spent A LOT of time in the back and said nothing other than our total and took payment - the rest of the time he sat on the counter using his phone. I was not blown away by the experience but it was just OK. It would be nice to have some mood music or the TV playing or any sound other than the churn of the machines on a slow afternoon. read more

This is was my first time going to an Orange Leaf.. LOVED IT! The look of the place was super clean and not too cold like most frozen dairy places are. There were so many choices of yogurt and toppings! The young lady helping me was very sweet and answered all my questions. She had black curly hair but not sure of her name. I tried the place today and I'm not that impressed. There wasn't a huge selection of yogurt flavors or toppings. However, I did like how they had REAL cookie dough! (that was amazing) The yogurt was already basically melted :/ and when I was checking out the girl ran outside to do something, so I was left standing there for my yogurt to melt even more. It's not a bad place, maybe I just caught them on an off day. Speaking of that, when I walked in they only had two other customers (during lunch). Humm.. questionable. Yesterday was my first time trying the frozen yogurt from here...it was AMAZING! I had the large cup, so it was 3 flavors with 4 toppings and it has to be one of the best fro-yo's I've tried! If I could leave 0 stars for this place that's exactly what I would do. Went to get yogurt and ended up standing in line for 30 minutes. Granted their machine took a dump and I understand technical difficulties this would of been understandable but when you offer the family of six a discount actually give their order to them free, then not offer a discount to the other two customers inconvenienced by the situation in my opinion is horrible customer service not to mention by the time we finally paid for the frozen yogurt for my daughter it was completely melted. read more

I have never been to a place that was so stingy with samples! The girl behind the counter has the sample cups in her back pocket and comes around and gets the samples for you when she is done filling the topping bar. So not only do you have to wait to get samples she treats you like you are 6 and can't be trusted. This just irritates me- I'll go to the multitude of other yogurt shops that don't treat me like a child. I understand some people abuse the system and just sample with out buying- I don't. read more
