We were in the mood for dessert after dinner and decided to try Amy's Place, and it did not disappoint. Everyone was really friendly, and there were so many good flavors to choose from. I asked for Mexican Vanilla and Oreo, and the person taking my order suggested combining them. So glad I listened. Oh my goodness. It was hands down one of the best Oreo ice creams I've had. The Mexican vanilla reminded me of paletas, and the Oreo was such a perfect match. My husband got the espresso flan, and it had a strong, creamy coffee flavor that he loved. Such a great dessert spot. We'll definitely be back. read more

This is one of my favorite Amy's locations in the Southpark Meadows neighborhood. I love Amy's ice cream and the staff here does a great job taking care of customers. They are friendly and always looking to go the extra mile, whether you need a special container, a bag or whatever. They even can be entertaining playing the role of the old soda jerks of bygone times. Highly recommended. read more

My daughter went to Orange Leaf with her kiddos and I said, I like Amy's Ice Cream. Still do, but had a terrible experience. A gentleman was in front of me but got tired of waiting and walked out. Me not knowing why. I realized the young girl with pink hair behind the register was having a high school reunion. She kept going on and on in convo when the man came back in and left again. About a min later, I waved my hand in front of them and said, can we catch up later? The girl behind the register said: that's rude and I'm not gonna help you. Amy's ice cream is delicious! This is definitely one of my fiancés favorite places to go for eating something sweet in Austin. I'm a big fan of their sweet cream ice cream. They have a good amount of toppings to pick and choose from, and the line usually isn't too long either. Their staff has been friendly the past several times we have went as well. This was our first time trying Amy's ice cream and they did not disappoint! The two girls working were super friendly! They gave us some recommendations. Jeff had the Mexican vanilla which was super delicious. I had the cookies and cream with Oreos mixed in! We honestly loved it and the large portion was a perfect size for us. We sat at the only booth in the store and thought the cow was cute! The store was clean and the customer service was friendly. We had a great experience and can't wait to return to try the other flavors! read more

Decided to stop here and grab some ice cream! Ended up getting the cold pressed vanilla with marshmallows mixed in and topped with fudge. The ice cream was very smooth and creamy & the fudge did not disappoint! There is a large selection of mix ins/topping as well as ice cream flavors. They did have a vegan vanilla ice cream which was a nice option. We ended up parking behind the shop easily and were able to order quickly. read more

Never had a bad experience at Amy's... but today was disappointing. So, we've always gotten multiple flavors for a large and one of them is always Belgian Chocolate with gummy bear... today we asked for that at this location and given the response "we can't do that, we would have to mix all the flavors together". First off, that makes zero sense. There was ZERO line. They were slow, so how it came off was that this employee didn't want to do any work. That being said, we will make sure not to return to this location, but every other location we've been to (which have typically been busier, as well) has been wonderful and the ice cream is delicious. I would definitely go to a different location and avoid this one. read more

Ok so Amy's has always been good. But $16+ for two ice creams!? Just because an add in is $1.40 and the cone itself was another $1.40. You pay for everything and they aren't generous. What happened to a $3 or $4 ice cream with some free sprinkles thrown in. At least fill the small cup! Not the homey ice cream experience Amy's used to be. read more

I really enjoy Amy's for ice cream and desserts when I have a craving. They have really unique flavors and just about everything I've tried I've truly liked. I've had most of their standard flavors like the Mexican Vanilla, Sweet Cream (favorite), Belgian Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, and Cold Pressed Vanilla. The Sweet Cream is absolutely delightful and made with super simple ingredients like cream, sugar, and eggs. I've never had a flavor that I didn't like. I usually get their pints to go which are $8.50+ which may seem pretty expensive but they use good quality ingredients and have never disappointed in terms of flavor. I've also had their Brownie Sundae on multiple occasions and it is soooo good!! It's expensive for around $9.65 but it's made with a huge brownie, your choice of ice cream, and drizzled with hot fudge. I've also had their Belgian Chocolate milkshake which is absolutely divine, very rich in flavor, and quite thick since it's crafted with Belgian Callebaut Chocolate and is high in cocoa. Ugh just writing this review is making me very hungry lol. All in all, this is my go-to place for ice cream and thankfully they have a whole lot of locations (even have one at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport if you're on the go and are waiting for your flight). You've gotta try Amy's! read more

Amy's is the best, but this location NEVER has cold ice cream. It is always mostly melted by the time you are handed your cone or cup. Other locations in Austin do not have this problem! Please work on fixing your freezers to alleviate this issue! read more

Stopped in on a whim because we were looking for ice cream. The ice cream itself was delicious (I got chocolate Pb, hubs got the tx dirt cake). Small size was a huge portion. We both got cones - they put your ice cream in a cup and give you the cone separately - some kind of Covid precaution but not exactly sure the point of it tbh. Staff were friendly - they do mix-ins. Similar to a marble slab/cold stone - we didn't get any the ice cream flavors on their own were great! Kinda pricy - two smalls, a waffle cone and a regular cone was over $11. Probably not a regular stop but definitely a tasty treat! read more

Ice cream was pretty good! Got one of their recommended sundaes. Ice cream was super yummy. Experience is similar to cold stone. You pick a flavor and add ins. Only issue I had was the prices were a little high and they dont let you put toppings in their smallest size so they make you get the next size up to do that. Just kinda annoying. Got the white chocolate ice cream with cookies and brownies with hot fudge. read more

This was the lousiest service I have ever gotten at an Amy's. I have always been a fan but the guy that took my order, was really just ease dropping and making a banana split before I said, that's what I want it. I was saying that to my friend and not him. Then he made it, and I realized what was in it and he never mentioned to tell me that it was basically a sundae with a banana in it. I could have gotten better ice cream at sonic. I'm disgusted that as he was making this sundae, he tells us we cannot sit inside and the bathroom was out of order. But the other girl working there had just gotten out of the bathroom and they had it blocked. If they block areas just so they don't have to sanitize, that's just plain laziness. The girl was rushing us out and trying to ring us and the people behind us out at the same time. It was aggravating and disorganized. New staff needed. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I took my younger siblings here & when it came time to order mine I asked the girl helping us for vegan Mexican vanilla with strawberries (what I get every single time I go to any of the Amy's ice cream).. & this girl asked me (with attitude in her voice) "Are you vegan or is it just a preference?" I couldn't believe she asked me that, so I replied, "I'm sorry, what?" & she repeated her question. I have never been asked this question when ordering this. I have really bad anxiety and don't even know why I answered her, but I told her "I'm lactose intolerant." After she heard me say that she went to the back to go get my ice cream. It was so uncomfortable and I don't even know why she asked me that question. It was embarrassing even saying that out loud in front of the other customers that were there. I'm still so confused on why she asked me that, I'm a paying customer and it shouldn't matter what I order because I'm paying for it. They also had all the seating & restrooms blocked off. & to just to mention, the last time my dad visited he had a guy yelling at him. I love amy's but this location is horrible. read more

Not sure what the deal is. Not impressed at all. OK, the strawberry mango ice cream is really good. But the service is HORRIBLE! It's 3:25 PM on an Monday Feb 18, 2019. Our server is a lady with a hat and sunglasses. Totally acted like she didn't want to be there. Fine, we all have bad days. But the amount of work she put into preparing my ice cream was ZERO! She basically put the toppings and the ice cream on top of each other and then put it in a cup. Didn't bothering crushing up toppings my very well and mixing them well. I have no idea why there is a line. Besides the strawberry mango, the white chocolate was just OK, and the Mexican Vanilla was just OK as well. Maybe its just trendy to wait in line for bad service and "just OK" ice cream? read more

Meh!! I wasn't wowd. Not terrible or anything but not great. Long long line. Only two girls working. About 12 ppl ahead of us. They were out of oreos. my favorite topping. The prices were alittle over the top in my opinion. Each add in was an extra dollar. We paid 13.50 + 2 (tip) for two small ice creams. Location was not all that. That actual layout of the place was crappy. No where to stand when you walked in since the line was so long. Thought they were more of a 3.5. Ice cream was good though so I'll give them a 4. Have to work on the rest of the store. read more

Ok, here's the deal....I LOOOOOVE the flavors offered here, but really, you get a better deal at cold stone. I got a $4 thing of ice cream and it barely filled the cup. I would have paid the same price for the same size at Cold Stone but it would have been overflowing with ice cream. We literally walked straight to the car...and driving and eating slowly, it took me 3 blocks to finish it off, that's how small it was and it was a medium! at cold stone I usually have to share that same size because i can't finish it all. That was the biggest disappointment. I really felt ripped off that I could have gotten a huge thing of ice cream at the grocery store for the same price.... The people working there are always friendly, though...so that's a plus. read more

So we went to Amy's on a Friday night a couple of weeks ago and the place was filthy and the service sucked ass... to the point that I doubt we'll ever be going back there. I ordered a Cookie Monster Sundae She hands me just the ice cream I say, "Oh, I wanted this as a Sundae...." She just looks at me, shrugs her shoulders and says "Sorry" then walks away and lets another guy ring us up It took everything in me not to throw the ice cream at the back of her head. My gf and I stopped at Amys Ice Cream to grab milkshakes on Christmas Eve. The cashier asked my gf if she wanted to leave a tip, any amount. My gf replied politely "no thank you". The cashier responded "ugh, but its Christmas" with an attitude. I understand its the holidays, but to have the expectations of a tip and be rude while not considering someones else's situation is beyond me. Really classless. read more

We went to our favorite Amy's at Southpark after a horrid dinner at a nearby steakhouse Saturday night to celebrate events with my kidlets. Always yummy. Always friendly. Love the rotating & new flavors, almost as much as my old favorites! New fave? Zilker Mint Chip. But someone changed the Mexican Vanilla!!!!!!!! What happened? It was bad enough I threw away my ice cream! :-O (blasphemy, I know) the Mexican Vanilla was so strong it tasted like the whole bottle got dumped in there. I chalked it up to coincidence or maybe my tastebuds were being wacky. Went to dinner tonight at a local TexMex spot & got sopapillas with Amy's Mexican Vanilla &it was still off. Every single bite of this was packed with flavor. They also carve out a bit of the middle to put the condensed milk which makes every bite much more equal than if it was just placed at the top. This was by far one of, if not the best, Italian ices we've ever had. We would very much recommend it to anyone in the Downtown area looking to cool off.
