As soon as I sat down and saw the menu, I knew I was in for a treat. The menu is completely in Vietnamese (well, except for the headers which is funny because if you can read the food names you probably can read Vietnamese headers.) I love authentic food from various regions of the world. When I travel, I like to ask police officers and taxi drivers where the locals eat. My belief in the authenticity of the food was confirmed when their side sauce was shrimp paste. A lot of people find the aroma of shrimp paste overwhelming. Anyway, I got number 20 on the menu, the special Nha Trang fish noodle soup. It was very tasty and came with fresh vegetables to add to the soup. I highly recommend this restaurant for its authentic taste of bún mắm. I ordered the number 1 bún mắm and my boyfriend had the bún mắm special. He's usually very skeptical about eating bún mắm, which is my favorite, because he says it often lacks of meats. However, at this restaurant, his bowl was so generously filled with meats and shrimps that he had to share some with me. The broth is incredibly tasty and flavorful. The bowl is packed with goodies like plenty of shrimps, BBQ pork chops, handmade grilled chả in jalapeños, and big pieces of fish. Our meal was very satisfying, and I was extremely happy with my first visit. I'll definitely be coming back for more and plan to try their bún mắm đậu in the future! The service was amazing! Met the parents here for lunch. Small restaurant. Parking, while the lot is big, was pretty difficult to find due to the many businesses that are in the same plaza. Mom got her Mi Quang. It was kinda flavorless. The meat was not tender. I got the Bun Bo Hue, forgot to tell them no pork shank, so gave that to my dad, who told me it tasted "fresh" but not too flavorful. The flavor of the bbh was ok, but the meat had too much lemongrass flavor, and there was minced lemongrass in the broth at the bottom of the bowl. I'm just not used to having that living in Danang in my earlier years. Also not spicy. Father got the bun mam, which had ok flavor according to him, but the vermicelli noodle itself was cold. Damn this place is seriously legit. For a Little Saigon native like me these types of places separate the casual Viet food lovers from the serious connoisseurs. You're not gonna find dishes like Bun Mam & Bun Quay in a regular Viet place. You'll prob will never cook Bun Mam in ur house either because it'll stink up your house . But it's so damn delicious. My friends came up from Oceanside and suggested this spot. I looked on their menu on Yelp and I knew I wanted to try it. It was beyond what I had expected. Delicious and affordable. Pork, tofu, and some other fried items with veggies, perfect dish for my low carb diet. Service was great. I would come back again to try the actual soup dishes. Small restaurant but with many customers going in & out. We ordered Bun Rieu & Mi Quang for lunch and both were pretty good. I loved the broth flavor of the Bun rieu. For the Mi Quang, my portion was pretty large and lots of meat. After eatin, I was so full that I had to skip dinner that night & still too full to eat breakfast the following day! Ordered 5 entrees to go today for my family. My husband found in his "Bun Mam" the fish were still raw inside. We microwaved the fish and he continued eating. Then later he found the stuffing in the chilly was also raw as it was still soft inside. We threw away the whole bowl. My "Mi tron muoi ot" wasn't any good either.
