    Edamame spicy garlic
    Nicolas F.

Good affordable date night spot! I'm in between 3-4 stars. Sushi was above average and large portions. We split two rolls and some nigiri to try and test quality. Rolls were good! Nigiri was lacking and I felt it wasn't quite worth the price. I also wish we didn't order the edamame flavored because it was a very large amount of garlic. Overall I enjoyed the atmosphere and enjoyed my meal. I would recommend trying the bar seating as you get a great view of the chefs!

Scallop & foie gras nigiri and Japanese A5 waygu nigiri

Service was good but the food is incredibly underwhelming the Japanese "A5 waygu" was rubbery and not very flavorful like the rest of the food the price doesn't match the quality King of kings roll also notably flavorless very small pieces for $24 feels like a scam I unfortunately spent $150 on dinner for 2 and I am still hungry

Local sushi spot on Washington. Plenty of parking up front and the interior is fairly nice for this area. Plenty of fish options for nigiri, sashimi, and rolls along with the usual options at a Japanese spot. We got a couple of rolls (3/5), and some nigiri ranging from tuna, snapper, to unagi and scallop (3/5). The nigiri fish quality was alright. Their sushi rice wasn't my favorite and I had a lot of pieces without the rice. Their pickled ginger also was a bit subpar since it serves as a palate cleanser. Overall, the pieces definitely tasted more like a local neighborhood spot rather than the higher end sushi experience that they're trying to emulate.

Good variety of fusion of food fo choose from. Good presentations, good quality. Overall, I enjoyed it. Good service. Chill ambiance--pretty casual. Highly recommend their edemame--the spicy or the garlic is fabulous!!!

Sashimi trio- (salmon, tuna, yellowtail) The three sauces its served with compliment the fish so well.

This place has been one of my go-to sushi spots for years, and it never disappoints. While it's more of a relaxed, neighborhood-style restaurant, the quality is consistently excellent. The fish is always fresh, the rolls are well balanced, the menu has several options, and everything tastes like it's made with care and intention. What really keeps us coming back, though, is the people. Chef Omi, Jasmine, and Kiet are incredibly hospitable and always make a point to check in, remember us, and make sure we're having a great experience. You can tell they genuinely care about their guests, and that kind of attention goes a long way. Their happy hour is hands-down our favorite. The menu has great options at a solid value, perfect for a casual night out or a relaxed dinner that still feels like a treat. The lychee martini deserves a special mention, it's light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced, not too sweet. Sherisse, our favorite bartender makes it just right. We end up ordering one every single time. If you're looking for a reliable sushi spot with great food, friendly faces, and a welcoming atmosphere/staff, this place is absolutely worth it. It's the kind of restaurant you keep coming back to and recommending to friends.

Fairly decent size menu. Can only really speak to the sushi and a few apps. The crazy Irishman is a tempura fried roll so a little on the heavy side but good. The mini destiny gives you a trio of sashimi, and regular peppered tuna. Simple and delicious but remembered peppered tuna is a little too peppery for me. Upgrade your edamame to the spicy garlic seasoned edamame. The chicken karaage was nicely fried with tender pieces of chicken and a complementary dipping sauce. Tip: Happy Hour on food and drinks all day Sunday.

    Spicy Tuna Roll

Came here after a running club since they had a partnership with them for an extended happy hour! I personally tried the spicy tuna roll, spicy chicken skewers, and calamari. The spicy tuna roll was pretty good, they didn't skimp out on the tuna at all and there wasn't too much rice which is a big criteria for me. The spicy chicken skewers were just okay. I wasn't a fan of how the spicy sauce tasted, I think I should've just gotten the original. The way the calamari was breaded wasn't my favorite either, I prefer it to be crispier. Overall, a good value for happy hour but not something I'd come back for unfortunately.

Honestly this place was just pretty average. The staff were extremely friendly, but the food was below something being extraordinary or even exciting. I thought the dishes lacked much flavor or specialness, specially the crazy Irish man and the madai champagne. The ramen noodles also did not have the correct noodles in them, and you could tell the quality of the meat was not good by the cut and how fatty the pork was. The dishes overall were good don't get me wrong, but they were nothing unique. Compared to all of the other sushi and Japanese restaurants in Houston, I would try somewhere else if I were to be completely honest!

My friend and I went when we were craving sushi. They had lunch deals and the sushi was pretty fresh. The agedashi tofu was amazing with the perfect amount of crispiness.

This is one of my favorite quick sushi comfort spots! I love their happy hour deals and the takeout is perfect. Their garlic edamame lives in my dreams, it's amazing!! Service is always great and vibes inside are equally as great.

So yummy! Amber and Chef Hector were amazing and so nice! Food was creative and phenomenal!

The food is good and the restaurant is nice. Great ambiance/atmosphere. Service was sort of slow for a "not so busy" day but the sushi definitely made up for it! A good friend of mine had been recommending this place for a while now. The King of Kings Roll was nice, bit of spice and the salmon was delicious. The nigiri was great. I dont remember what pieces my friend ordered but they sure were tasty. The gyoza is a bit meatier than other dumplings ive had in the past. Japanese Wagyu Shumai was also very good! I'd definitely recommend this place to other people! -Santangelo Balli Gonzales

Haven't been here a years but the ambiance was still good with a unique floor plan. We ordered from a special menu for the night. We had the Firecracker Roll and Crazy Irishman Roll, both delicious. We also got the Pesce Pink and Kanpachi Ceviche and Hiramasa Nigiri both were very fresh. Service was great. Plates taken away and food was brought out in a timely manner.

Flying V Harvest was fantastic. I drank that broth like I just came out of the Sahara. So good. The Impossible meat fusion is a funny add but a good protein bump. It was a few days ago but I think I'm still full from that ramen bowl. The vibe is modern high ceiling bumping music; my in-laws found it to be too loud. I think they are giving you an excuse to lean in and get a little closer to your companion. The vibe is chic yet also casual so bring whoever you want but this would work for date night. The font on the menus is squint inducing so do your research ahead of time or prepare to spend more time perusing the menu than usual, especially with the dim lighting. They offer thin or thick noodles and can mix some broth options to adjust spice level. Drinks- the smoked in front of your face whiskey is a treat and a show. Solid spot. No regrets. Salivating at the thought of the next visit.

Their ramen is flavorful and solid and their service is consistent. Parking: parking is free in the garage around the corner from JINYA. We went during the week and the garage was not packed. There's also paid street parking around the restaurant that you can find but look for signs to know when you have to pay and when you don't. Service: service here is very good. They have an army of waitresses and waiters who check on tables and we never had to ask for refills or never had to flag down someone. Our food came out in a timely manner. The one thing I will say about service is the appetizers we ordered came out right before our ramen so we had all of our food at one time which was a lot. I wish they would've spaced out the food timing a little more. Ambiance: JINYA has a modern interior and open concept. They have tables, booths, and 2 big community tables in the center of the restaurant. The restaurant playlist is hip and modern. The inside of the restaurant is dimly lit so if you have bad eyesight, get ready to use your flashlight to read the menu. Food: we ordered two ramens and the gyoza and edamame. Gyoza: these were fried well and had a gyoza sauce that came on the table. The wrapper was thin and they were not too oily. We would order this again. Edamame: this was typical edamame. Nothing too special. Would not get this again when we come back. Creamy Classic Tori-Paitian: this is a chicken ramen with wavy noodles that came with fried enoki mushrooms, chicken chasu, butter, spinach and a corn rib. This ramen was rich in flavor and had so many fun, delicious toppings. The corn run was grilled nicely and I wish I had more of them in my bowl. I'm a sucker for enoki mushrooms and this did not disappoint. I took the enoki mushrooms out of the ramen immediately so they didn't get soggy fast and that was the move if you want the mushrooms to stay crunchy. The chicken broth was rich and light which was a great combo. I finished this bowl to the last drop. JINYA Chicken Ramen: my girlfriend got the chicken ramen with a side of bamboo. Warning on the bamboo: the bamboo comes dressed in sesame oil and sole hot oil so they are a little spicy. The chicken ramen broth was once again rich with flavor and light. The chicken chase was good and this ramen comes with thin noodles instead of wavy noodles. Overall JINYA hits the spot when craving ramen or some hot soup on a cold day. The chicken broth is legit and I will be closing back to try the pork broth soon. My only qualm with JINYA is the price at over $17 per bowl of ramen. There are cheaper ramen places but JINYA flavor makes up for the priciness.

However, since crawfish season is one of my favorite times of the year, I had to come back to try their limited edition ramen. Just like my first visit, the staff were extremely friendly, the food came out incredibly quickly, and the overall experience felt comforting and welcoming. I ordered the seasonal bowl, The Crawmen, which came with crawfish tonkotsu broth, andouille sausage, bayou butter, corn, and peppers. While the bowl was clearly inspired by a crawfish boil, I felt like it could have leaned even further into those flavors with more crawfish and a stronger boil seasoning overall. The ramen was definitely delicious, but the broth did not quite have enough crawfish boil flavor to fully separate it from their standard tonkotsu ramen. At times, it mostly tasted like the original broth with andouille sausage added in. Even so, it was still an enjoyable bowl of ramen, though I would probably stick to one of their regular menu options over this seasonal special. My mom and I also shared the Karaage, which arrived very quickly while still being piping hot, crispy, and juicy inside. On the other hand, I would personally skip the Sakura Sweet Tea and Strawberry Yuzu Lemonade in the future since they mostly tasted like their regular counterparts without adding anything particularly unique. Overall, I still really enjoy the welcoming atmosphere and reliable quality of this place, especially the ramen and karaage. While the seasonal bowl did not fully live up to its concept for me, the experience itself was still enjoyable enough that I would gladly return again.

I was seriously tempted to order another plate since it only came with 6-7 pieces. Next, all the ramens came out. I got the shoyu truffle which I enjoyed a lot. I liked that you can taste the truffle flavor without it being overpowering. Also liked that the broth itself wasn't as salty as some ramen places. Noodles were al dente and all the toppings were tasty! Loved that the char sui actually had a good amount of lean meat versus it being mostly fat. The char grilled bamboo shoots were a nice touch as well. I tried my son's tonkotsu shoyu and enjoyed it too. I think my least favorite was my husband's tonkotsu gachi ramen, but he enjoyed it. They deserve 4.5 stars because come on it's 24/7 ramen. Parking is cool but limited. First impression walking in was that it has this really unique and dope vibe. I love the set up and it was giving spacious. There were cassette tapes aligned on the wall in the booth we sat in, which I thought was very creative. There was Anime characters above the doors when you first walk in, with Anime playing on the TVs at the bar. Oh yeah, THERES A FULL BAR if you ready to get your drink on. Now, off rip the host was annoying. She was kinda rushy and caught an attitude when we asked for a booth. We can't even describe the vibe she gave off fr. It was just BLEH. Our table was clean which is very important to us and our waitress Yasmin was kind and patient with our questions, and dietary substitutions. We ordered the Super Saiyan Nachos as an appetizer for $16. Maaann, these were so delicious!!!!! We actually substituted the pork for shiitake mushrooms and when I tell y'all we were surprised at the portion We both looked at each other like "YAAASSSSSS" Next came our Ramen orders which didn't take long at all. Not that we were counting because we were INDULGED in those nachos LOL Babii rated her Oxtail Ramen a '7/10' for $25. She would've preferred to get shiitake mushrooms because she particularly didn't like the fact that the Oxtails were shredded and not on the bone (which is what we both expected when reading it). She also would've liked if they gave her a spice option since she likes spicy ramen. Unfortunately, we had to purchase a nasty 'Kappa' sauce which was not worth the $1.50. To her the portion size was A1, however we paid for the meat so it wasn't worth the $25. Now, the Vegetable Garden to me was a '8.5/10' it was good, had amazing portion size and they were not lacking in the texture department. I mean, the spinach noodles were delish, vegetable cooked very Al dente. I cannot complain on that part. To me it was missing a bit of flavor, maybe salt would've done the trick. Overall though, it did have the flavor of the mushrooms which wasn't bad. Most importantly though, I felt light after consuming my meal. Therefore, I have to give it all a high rating.
