    Oysters during happy hour
    Sunaina B.

KA Sushi is one of my favorite happy hour spots! The Rose Roll was absolutely delicious with just the right amount of spice, and the spicy edamame was packed with flavor. The fresh oysters were incredibly fresh, briny, and the perfect way to start the meal. Everything tasted high quality, the service was attentive, and the atmosphere made for a great dining experience.

Ka has been one of my go to spots for a while and on a good day they are amazing but on a bad day is shocking what they will serve, today was one of those days, I am so disappointed in the food that I was served today that I am questioning my desire to ever go back, this saddens me greatly because once again when they are on, they are really on, I truly hope that they address these issues

I always have a great time here. The service is always top tier and food is delicious. I usually stop in mid afternoon and it's always quiet, that's how I like it. Can't wait for another happy hour here. Definitely recommend trying this restaurant out if you haven't before. It's never been a disappointment.

I stopped by for a Friday lunch a couple of weeks ago. We grabbed seats at the bar for quicker service. Since I only have an hour for lunch, that's always a priority. We were greeted right away and ordered a couple of appetizers to start. We went with the shrimp tempura and the truffle snapper. The shrimp tempura was spot on! Crispy and light, a classic done right. But the truffle snapper stole the show. Super fresh and topped with a mandarin reduction that added the perfect touch of sweetness. Honestly, my favorite dish of the meal! For my entree, I had the wagyu slim roll. The wagyu was rich and flavorful, topped with pickled peppers that added just the right kick. I loved this roll, and my colleague who tried it agreed! Service at the bar was quick and efficient, which was exactly what we needed. Overall, it was a solid meal but nothing really stood out as extraordinary in terms of the overall quality. That said, I noticed they have a great happy hour menu so I might come back to check that out!

We came for happy hour and the food was so great. They have happy hour evrnonthe weekends. They prices were very reasonable for a happy hour and the happy hour menu was pretty large to try a lot of their menu options. They raw oysters were super yummy. Everything was elevated with little touches, like the rock candy with the hot tea and the yuzu with th oysters. The place is very cute on the inside as well. The servers were nice and attentive. The food came out quick as well.

I just ordering toro crispy rice and got a freeze soaked fried rice ball with rancid fish on it. I paid $17 for this one disgusting thing bc it was not described on their menu and I thought it was like any other crispy rice tuna app. Really disappointed . Other things were decent

Absolutely incredible service. Beautiful restaurant, i love the design of the Bar! The food was amazing. Delicious Oysters Rockefeller 10/10 -Ive eaten oysters all over houston/ the gulf region and these are in my top 5 favorites. I also enjoy my crispy tempura sushi roll. 8/10! The Otoro Nigiri was great! I must say this was a great idea to stop by and visit for a quick bite with my girlfriend. I enjoyed every moment. :) I will definitely be returning to enjoy more oysters. Thank you so much KA Sushi for preparing our food with care and quality. We appreciate Quality. -Santangelo Balli Gonzales

One of our favorite places to get sushi. The atmosphere is always enjoyable and service is helpful and nice. We always order in waves and the servers have never been annoyed or stopped coming by when we were deciding. Everything we ordered this round was delicious, but some can't miss is the Hamachi Chili and Waygu Nigri. First time trying their Unagi and was pleasantly happy with that decision! Food is pricy but they do have a happy hour that's worth checking out!

Went during happy hour for a snack and had been here years ago. I enjoyed it back then as well! Place is cozy and has space. The service was great and quick. Price point is pretty high even with happy hour. Oysters 4/5 It was clean and good. I added soy sauce to it. Yellow rose maki roll 5/5 Solid but not spicy to me. Love the micro greens incorporated. Salmon tiradito 3/5 It had a tang to it but just okay for me, was light. Hamachi chili 5/5 My favorite appetizer! There is a little crunch and a little chili, has a good kick. The sauce on the bottom is also good.

Ambiance was very nice it was my first time trying the place out. Service was good went on a Sunday for HH and sat at the bar. The bartenders were good about checking in and offering suggestions. The food was nice. I had the cooked oysters, shrimp tempura, and chicken yakitori I believe. All tasted good the shrimp tempura was only two pieces so I did order another one. Would be nice if there were at least 4 pieces of shrimp but was still good. For drinks I had a spicy type of margarita and some other that I can't recall the name. They were good too. I would go back.

GENERALIZED REVIEW:…read more Came here with a friend from theatre after a full run--he had this place recommended to him by another theatre friend, so we're just passing on the word. The plaza was a bit confusing to navigate, and I'm pretty sure if the place weren't full of Asian parents and their kids, it would've felt like the shadiest place ever because you have to enter from the back. Otherwise, the plaza had a lot of great-looking stores overall. My first go-to: I've loved drinking Kirin Light ever since I discovered it in Chicago. The flavor is literally so light, with a slight acidity that brightens up my meal. The sake here was frankly also delicious. I didn't order it, but my friend did, and they had it warmed. The flavor was soothing and subtle, almost like tea. It was exceptionally easy to drink, and the ocean-themed ceramicware was a beautiful touch. We ordered two rolls: the Shaggy Dog and the Truffalufagus (a fun tongue-twister). I personally chose the Truffalufagus (which is not fun to spell) because it seemed like the most unique dish on the menu, and I enjoyed it very much. What I liked most about it was that it was subtle yet impactful. I also loved the textures--from the internal crunch paired with the fresh jalapeño to the softness of the fish. I'm glad I gave this roll a shot, and I would be excited to try it again anytime. The Shaggy Dog was great, but it appealed less to my flavor profile. It was a little too rich and creamy for me. I recommended this place to my BF as a potential future date spot--I personally think he would like it... if he weren't the type to enjoy AYCE sushi so much. If they had more unique rolls, I would definitely come back just for those. I was tempted to order the Surf and Turf for this round, but I didn't want to seem like a glutton, hahaha.

The restaurant itself was pretty packed - there wasn't any parking (but they do have an overflow lot you can use). Inside the vibe was nice & upscale. It was surprisingly not intimate & was a little loud. The bathroom hallway was very cool (as the other reviews have said) I got the three course lunch w/ an added chutoro nigiri. The restaurant week lunch was fine, but the nigiri really stood out. I wish they would've had even just one nigiri on the restaurant week menu. The kombu salad was good & had nice flavor without being too overpowering. The hamachi crudo was awesome!! I'm a big crudo fan, but this one was above and beyond my expectations. All of the flavors played so well together & my yellowtail was so fresh and light and buttery. I loved the creaminess of the sauce & how it balanced the acidity of the tomatoes & onion so well. I savored every bite. Honestly the hand rolls left a lot to be desired. The kani hand role wasn't super great. The flavor was mid & the texture felt a bit off. I also thought sake hand roll was just ok.. My chutoro nigiri was also awesome. The cut was beautiful & the fish was super fresh and had an awesome texture. It just melted in my mouth. I'll definitely be back to try the lunch nigiri tasting menu. I'd recommend trying this place, just make sure to get the crudo or nigiri

The experience itself was underwhelming all other perspectives, as it just felt like there wasn't much interest from the owner/operators in mainting a certain level of care during week days. The food pleasant at times. The spicy fried drumsticks were the best flavored and textured thing we ate on our visit. The rolls and Crudo were passable, the Spicy akami being the better of the two we tried.
