The reason we came! Delish!

We had a long drive from Aptos back down to Orange County so we thought, hey! Let's stop in Solvang for abelskivvers! I am so glad we did! There's only one place that's worth it to get these lovelies at and that's this place! We decided to have a little brekkie too. Hubs and I shared scrambled eggs, hashbrowns and some bacon. Whoahhh the bacon! It was soooo good, just the right amount of crispy, it wasn't crinkly and small, rather these were full sized bacon goodness! We ravaged our breakfast as a formality to get to the real prize....ABELSKIVVERS! They were amazing, as always. Warm, sweet bites of heaven. The service was great, our servers were friendly and helpful. This restaurant holds so many memories for me as my family would visit when I was a child. It's a little danish slice of heaven on earth. It's quaint, smells amazing, and we look forward to our next visit!

Was told while in Solvang we absolutely had to try famous aebleskiver. We found this cute restaurant and went in and ordered custom service was okay they seemed rushed even no one else in line We got our order pretty quickly and price was great We ordered the 3 aebleskiver it had raspberry jam and powdered sugar it was very good was like a muffin pancake to me I enjoyed it

We walked in to try the able skivers and ended up dining in as well. The able skiver was amazing and I highly recommend it. YUM. That with the jelly, is delightful. We tried the meatball and sauage platter as well. The meat was good, the sides seemed ehhh and not fresh. Service was friendly. Atmosphere was similar to a diner. The inside decor in the back had some cute Danish things.

You had me at walk up window. Danish treats and snacks to go, so we can keep touristing, YES please. The ableskivers were perfectly dense and delicious. And the medisterpolse (Danish pork sausage) had a nice snap and savory goodness. Probably could have had two orders of each, but I wanted to keep trying other goodies. Worth the pit stop, even if there's a line.

When in Solvang, we had to try the famous æbleskivers. We heard good things about Solvang Restaurant so it was an easy choice. They have a restaurant, but we just opted to go to their takeout window and get one order of the æbleskivers. They were ready instantly before we even had a chance to pay. I'm not a huge sweets person, but the best way I could describe them are like donut holes covered in powdered sugar and raspberry jam. They were big, but still fluffy, light, and nice and warm for the brisk day. Even though I don't have a sweet tooth, I was pleasantly surprised. Definitely worth a try if you're in Solvang.

I didn't eat in the restaurant just got the danish donut aevelskier ? With powdered sugar and raspberry. It was reasonably priced and very tasty .

We wanted a quick, sweet snack and heard great things from the locals about these historic pancake balls of loveliness ! They have a quick takeout window for the Æbleskivers staffed by a lovely, friendly lady waiting to help you ! We just picked up one order of the Æbleskivers ( Pancake balls ) and a Medisterpøls ( Danish Sausage ). The sausage was ample, while served with a side of a creamy dijon laced horseradish accompaniment ! Savouring the first bite, it had a firm, smokey plumpness followed by a tender, yet juicy mouthful, enhanced by the tangy sauce designed to accentuate its pork goodness! Our Æbleskivers were beautifully baked presenting a subtle crunchiness on the outside, with a soft, tasty fluffiness on the inside, covered in a fruity Raspberry sauce, delighting the tastebuds with every golden morsel !! Upon your visit here, stop in the cute and inviting restaurant and enjoy a yummy piece of Scandinavian history you can taste ! Cheers !

Woke up super early to come here before heading to LA. It was nice and quiet since it was 7am. Service was good and Danish Style Pancake with eggs (5/5 stars) - Wow didn't expect to love this but I did! It's right between a crepe and a American style pancake. It the perfect in between so you don't feel super full. There's a slight tangy that enhances it. Æbleskiver (3/5) - The taste of the batter and raspberry jam is excellent. However, the first 2 were nice and crunchy outside but undercooked in the middle. The last one was full cooked but the outside was not crunchy. Overall, love that Danish Style Pancake.

I just got an order of the Aebleskivers, if you're not dining in, they have a little window out front where you can order and take your food. There are not a lot of benches outside so you might find yourself standing to eat your food. I wish there were a smaller order of the Aebleskivers since it was hard to finish by yourself and I would recommend sharing it. I like that it came out fresh and hot and the sugar and the raspberry sauces melted with it. It also felt strangely dense but fluffy at the same time.

AEBLESKIVER

First time in Solvang and I was walking around and stumbled upon this restaurant. There was a line so I automatically decided to try this place out. They are known for their sweet dish called AEBLESKIVER. AEbleskiver (7/10): The filling tasted like a pancake and the texture was very soft and doughy on the inside. It came with powdered sugar, but I didn't want it. The berry sauce was delicious, but I wished they gave more of it. It was a nice light snack before lunch and I would come back and get it with the ice cream next time!

Abelskeiver

Delicious abelskeivers! $5 for 3 (each one was huge). They came out super soft, pillowy, and flavored with jam and powdered sugar. There was a bit of a wait but you got your dessert right after your ordered.

Lauren S.

Plan for long lines and tasty treats! The window serves up traditional Danish pastries and sausage. Highly recommend both if you have a chance. Plan ahead since the line could take 30+ min. Waiting in the long line can be pleasant if the weather agrees. If not, then pack sunscreen, hat and comfortable shoes. Peak at the menu to know what to order. Also, there is no seating if you order from the window. I usually take it and enjoying the park or being home for the next day.

Came here for a very rainy weekend during Christmas time! This place is decorated SO cute during the holidays. The food is very diner themed with a sprinkle danish themed items. Their pancake donut balls pictured were unique and yummy!

I was so happy that we had an option to have a cup of butternut squash soup with that sandwich making it the perfect soup and sandwich combo. The shaved Brussel Sprouts salad is so addictive that I couldn't stop eating it and was a great way to get more veggies in our diet. Even though I over ordered to try everything I wanted, shaved Brussels Sprouts salad, halibut tacos and pastrami smoked salmon sandwich with a cup of butternut squash soup, I regretted not coming back for dinner to have it all over again.

I kept coming across peasants FEAST and knew my family and I had to add it to our list. They were Michelin recognized in 2024! We decided to check them out for lunch on a Saturday, we showed up right when they opened and got a nice seat outside on their patio. The restaurant slowly started filling up more and more after we got there so glad we arrived when we did! They do not take reservations so it is first come, first served. We ordered the Kids Orecchiette with Butter, Lil McFeast Burger and the Solvang Hot Chicken. We got some drinks on the side as well including the Fresh Squeezed Lemonade which my daughter was obsessed with. I really enjoyed the food - it was fresh and well seasoned throughout. I asked for less spice on my Hot Chicken, but it was still spicy and tasty! Overall, it was a good meal, not my favorite of the trip, but still worth checking out for sure! Service was also spot on and she gave great recommendations! We would definitely give them another shot next time we're in Solvang! I really want to check out the Pastrami Smoked Salmon Sandwich and the Nannie's Frozen Lime Pie next time! Check them out!

Our party of 4 was seated and waited about 20-30 minutes without a waiter in sight. Meanwhile, a table seated after us had already placed their order and received drinks. I eventually had to flag someone down, and they mentioned they would get our waiter. They later returned and took our order themselves, saying our waiter, Christian, would be with us shortly. To Christian's credit, he did apologize when he arrived, but throughout dinner the service continued to fall short. He would stop by asking if everything was okay while our cups sat empty, then walk away without offering refills. We had to specifically ask for water and drink refills. At the end of the meal, we also weren't asked about dessert or whether we needed anything else. We had to ask for the check and he pulled out of his vest. That said, the restaurant itself has a great atmosphere. The outdoor seating is beautiful, especially the built-in fireplaces at the tables, which we really enjoyed. The live music also added a nice touch to the evening. Food-wise, the appetizers were the highlight. The ceviche and flautas were excellent. I ordered the Black Tie Burger, which was just okay, but the fries were delicious.

We started with delicious cold, crisp martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives and a bowl of water for our pup. Our server (Chelsea B?) was so fun and friendly! We then had maybe the best wedge salad we've ever had! I think the lettuce was cut to, but not thru, the base, and opened up, with toppings inside. Roasted beet cubes, bacon, blue cheese and shallots, plus cherry tomatoes, hard boiled egg quarters and fried shallots garnish. It was incredible. I think they should call it "More than a Wedge." We also had the Ahi crudo, which had a delicious sauce and thinly sliced peppers. I wasn't too hungry, so had the French onion soup as my main course. So, it definitely didn't taste anything like French onion soup! It looked like it, and it was definitely cooked down onions but the flavor wasn't anything like I'd expect. However, it was really delicious and satisfied my craving for something warm & cheesy. So if you go in knowing that, I think you'll enjoy it. I don't like lamb, so my husband often gets it when we go out. When he took his first bite, I could tell he enjoyed it. He said it was some of the best lamb he's had and he's had a lot! It's à la carte, but did come with a tiny bit of salad and a roasted pepper which he thought was perfect. Since I was having the soup we didn't order a vegetable side, which we normally would, but this vegetable garnish worked perfectly for him. Definitely recommended!
