Is Aloha a smaller company, yes, but will Gabe answer your call when needed, yes! Fast forward install happened within a couple weeks of signing the deal. Minas was the head installer it seemed (all people are internal employees with Aloha and work is NOT contracted out, that was a big seller for us), and two other guys Rigo and Matt. All were super nice and very professional. Minas walked me through everything at the end, and major bonus points once he installed the piping going from battery to roof, he asked if I had paint that matched the exterior of my house. Unfortunately, if you hope to have good service and support, do not work with William and Zenith. They sent Travis out promptly, who is their electrician where he found that the issue was resolved by replacing a faulty 40-amp breaker that was intermittently providing the necessary voltage, even though measurements initially appear correct. While the breaker issue caused real inconvenience and unexpected costs on my end, the owner was responsive and showed willingness to smooth things over to work toward a resolution. I also want to highlight that the panel upgrade and solar/battery installation itself was clean and well done. The workmanship that Eddie, Manny, Christian and Jamie performed had overall met my expectations, and once the issue was identified, Sunline did step in to correct it. No project is perfect, but how a company responds when problems arise matters a lot. In this case, Sunline's owner and Eric was engaged, responsive, and made a sincere effort to make things right. As an engineer, and after witnessing the symptoms and corrective actions firsthand, I believe the breaker issue was likely a manufacturing defect, and it was unfortunate that it occurred during the holidays. That said, based on how Sunline handled the situation, the overall quality of their work, and the value they offer, I would recommend them and plan to continue using them for future needs.

My…read morewife and I didn't have to go through interviewing multiple solar installers and trying to vet the claims of each company. Michael did the hard work for us. The process went as described below: 1. Michael came out to our house, took pictures of our roof and took measurements. He then sat down with us and gave us a quick overview of the process. He explained the installation process, the technology involved and how solar power buyback is handled by SDG&E. 2. We gave Michael some of our power bills so he could determine the size of the system we'd need. He came back to us a couple of weeks later with quotes from four solar installation companies for similar sized systems. He went over each quote with us and helped us to understand the advantages and disadvantages of each one. He told us we could talk with representatives from each company if we wanted to. Based on the quotes and his recommendation we decided to go with New Leaf Electric. 3. Brad from New Leaf came out to our house to determine just where the panels and inverter would go; and to verify that they could do it for the quoted price. There were no problems. 4. A team from New Leaf installed the panels a few weeks later. They were courteous and helpful. They explained exactly what they were doing. 5. After the installation Michael followed up with us to find out how it went and to verify that there were no problems.

One of our concerns during the process was that our roof was constructed with clay tiles. Michael worked closely with the roofing contractor, and ensured the quality of the project, which included temporarily removing the clay tiles, installing asphalt shingles under the area which would be covered by the solar panels.
